My grandparents were friends with Johnny Cash way back in the 1960 to 1980s. I was in my highschool choir as a teen and actually got to sing this as a duet with Johnny almost 40 years ago. He was an incredibly talented and very caring man. I know of many people that he helped that never knew where the help came from.
I know that you just discovered Home Free over Christmas. Please continue doing Home Free reactions. I know that you will love everything they do, regardless of the genre, and we will love watching you enjoy them.
This song is done in a country reggae beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.
The fries all agree with you Home Free could sing the phonebook and it would be an instant classic and they dont do covers they do upgrades . Much love and respect from Denmark
Johnny Cash June Carder Cash is the one who wrote this song Ring of Fire . THE LEAD SINGER OF HOME FREE JUST LEFT THE GROUP TO START HIS own THING WITH HIS FAMILY AND SELF THE LAST LOW NOTE YOU HEAR IS NOT Avi Kaplan it's Tim voice
There is no lead singer of Home Free. Austin sometimes takes lead but they all do depending on the song. If there is a front man it's Tim Foust. But that's just because he talks a lot 😂😂
I really appreciated your break down of the meaning of the song. All other reactors I have watched have missed it. And of course, Home Free, Tim, Avi - scrumptious.
It’s a good one with Avi. Tim killed that last note. On the Sing Off Tim went even lower. Well sure enough Home Free redid all the songs they sang on the Sing Off (in 2013) and they just released another version of Ring of Fire just yesterday? Tim goes really low in the end. This is a fun one! 😍😄
You have not heard even close to Tim's range... Check out his collab with Peter Hollens cover of Misty Mountains for his low range, then Home Free's version of Mayday by Cam... after that check out on Tim's YT page, his solo cover of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.. Great reaction!!
If you enjoy collaborations like this, I would highly recommend checking out Voiceplay's cover of "Just Sing". It's a HUGE collaboration with MANY other a capella artists. If/when you do it, be sure to turn on the captions. They included information about who everyone is, as well as a few snarky remarks. Also, Home Free has done several covers of classic songs with the original legends (The Oakridge Boys, Lee Greenwood, and Don McLean to name a few). And, although I've never found a video of it, they also covered "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" with Charlie Daniels.
If you're looking for Tim's range, check out "Mayday". That song shows a lot of their crazy talents. Now that you know their roles, it would be a great watch for you
Whoever keeps track of these things has Tim's range at two tones short of five full octaves and Avi isn't far behind. Actually when Chance joined the group to replace Chris Rupp, he brought basically a second Tim on the lower end. He only misses Tim's lowest by a couple of tones This effectively gives them two bass voices, two baritones, four tenors (Adam has an excellent tenor voice but prefers beatboxing), and two high tenors in Rob and Austin Well Adam #3 has recently joined the group as the fourth vocal part after Austin recently announced that he would no longer be performing as part of Home Free. That gives them a lot of options when it comes to arranging a new song
Great reaction. My HF faves are: X Man of Constant Sorrow X Ring of Fire (w/ Avi Kaplan) / American Pie (w/ Don McLean) / God Bless the USA (w/ Lee Greenwood & US Air Force band) / Sea Shanty Medley / Butts Remix (April Fool's Day 2015 release) / Elvira (w/ The Oak Ridge Boys)
I have heard this before and said the same thing, it’s very good and an excellent performance but…….. it’s not Johnny Cash! Nice fun reaction, enjoy their songs they’re really good also their individual performances are well worth catching up!
Give a listen to "Misty Mountain", from the Hobbit, sung by Peter Hollens ft.Tim Foust. Just the two of them, 120 layers, OMG!! Oh, and hang on, Tim will rattle your bones with his bass!
It has been said before. Home Free doesnt do covers. They do upgrades. Havent heard a bad song yet from these guys. If you love Johnny Cash you should absolutly listen to their upgrade of Folsom Prisson Blues...... Tims bass there.... Yum!
I rec Geoff castelluchi deep bass cover of I see fire, from the Hobbit ,and hold on to your teeth lol voice play accapella we don't talk about Bruno, it's fun
I rec voice play accapella Valhalla calling , yes vikings and geoff castelluchi deep bass cover of i see fire , from the hobbit hold on tight and remember they all are geoff castelluchi in different costumes so hold on to your socks dear
There's been a bunch of good suggestions in the comments already, but I'd like to add _Champagne_ _Taste_ _on_ _a_ _Beer_ _Budget_ to show you a side of HF you haven't covered yet...

Hi. Can you please react to legendary Russian rock band Kino song Calm night? It's rock music masterpiece! Maybe you will be surprised so great music you never heard. Lot of bloggers from different countries really like this band and song. Now really interesting your reaction too. Original from 80s. Audio with more than nine million views.

Home Free is releasing their new ( sort of?) Music video of their Sing Off version of this song today, i believe. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.

Their beat boxer sounds like an actual drum kit. He is under rated in my opinion.
from my understanding in the world of beatboxing he is VERY much recognized since he was (from the last count I saw) three beatbox championships.
@@MrPhoKingAwesome Definitely worthy.
You have not even scratched the surface of Tims's range yet, it gets better. Listen to his solo of "Stay, Will You Still Love Me"
I second that!
Can I third that? 😊
I would listen to Mayday first then Will you Still Love Me. Mayday will be a "Wow!" moment and then Will you still love me would be the jaw dropper
@@proc92 Exactly. Mayday first. It's one of their best.
Anyone who can sing lower than a bass guitar can play definitely has my attention.

Austin isn’t leaving until the fall. He’ll still be on tour with the guys this summer.
The bass gang covered "Hooked on a feeling" featuring Tim Foust. It is a great showcase of his range, and so much fun too.
Such a fun song!! Have you watched Peter Barber's reaction to this song?
I really appreciated your break down of the meaning of the song. All other reactors I have watched have missed it. And of course, Home Free, Tim, Avi - scrumptious.
I really enjoy this arrangement ❤ and I will NEVER get tired of listening to Avi's voice 😌❤️

Not even a mention of Avi’s smooth voice
They are releasing a new version of Ring Of Fire today
Unbelievable smooth flowing 😊
Very enjoyable reaction, thank you!
Great reaction, Jenna!

You should listen to their cover of end of the road, when a man loves a woman
And a sustained Bass note too. Thanks.
#HOMEFREE....outstanding!
suggesting the Mayday cover to get another blast of Tim's astonishing range. Also just an amazing performance by the group.
Please react to “Helplessly Hoping”. It’s a very short song but they really shine in it.
I have heard this before and said the same thing, it’s very good and an excellent performance but…….. it’s not Johnny Cash!
Nice fun reaction, enjoy their songs they’re really good also their individual performances are well worth catching up!
those melodies
You HAVE to listen to Tim Faust solo on Will you still love me/Stay. It will blow your mind
Such a great cover. Love it 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Avi Kaplan left Pentatonix in 2017
Unfortunately Austin Brown just announced that he is leaving Home Free as well 😞
Austin is in Home Free.

Never gonna happen unless you send money.
Maybe you'd like HomeFree's version of "Folsom Prison Blues".
It was done during Covid and it's all the same guys as in "Man of Constant Sorrow"
I like your analogy
I'd listen to them reciting their shopping list.
Yes, anything they sing...is an work of inspired interpretation....
All parts of her body was on fire after that low low base. That's for sure.
This is so very awesome! I am sure Johnny Cash would be so proud. Love your reaction! ♥
🤟🔥🤟
June Carter wrote this song when she and Johnny Cash met and started a relationship while she was married to someone else.
They rerecorded this with a few tweeks a little while ago.
Did Tim hit a G note at the end, Avi just smiled and put his hat on, he knew Tim outdid him
#HOMEFREE
June wrote this after meeting Johnny and she was still married to her first husband.
Check out their version of folsum prison blues, and mayday for something special from tim!
Good morning 🌞🌄
React to Austin Brown, from Home Free, sing “”Bring Him Home” it will absolutely blow your mind! He is awesome. Love this song, too!! Great reaction 🎉
June Carter Cash wrote this song and it was about their early relationship.
June Carter Cash wrote this song for her and Johnny
Check out Home Free's cover of Mayday
If you want to listen to a song that will touch your inner core, listen to Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb", live from the Pulse tour in 1994.
It's a shame that Austin is leaving. Don't know if they can find someone as good as he is. You want one that blow your mind! Listen to May day.

If you like bass, you should listen to geoff castelluci, he goes even lower than this. I recommend, sixteen tonnes, and house of the rising sun
Has she done mayday yet by home free
Not yet!!
You've heard that Austin is leaving Home Free? He's decided that he wants to be home with his wife so he's dropping out.
I actually just saw this, yeah...
Question for all the Home Fries out there. Who do we think is going to replace Austin?
