The reason why Jack kept the one shot for Barbosa is because it’s the shot he left for him on the island. When Barbosa stranded Jack on the island he left him a pistol with one shot, meaning when you’re starving and dehydrated you would just shoot yourself to end it. So when he escaped he wanted to kill Barbosa will the bullet that was meant to kill himself.
Yep. That’s serious dedication.
And I love that you can see he really, really wants to kill Barbossa with it only. When he pulls it out against Will, saying "This bullet isn't meant for YOU", and when he wakes up to "Why is the Rum Gone?!", Elisibeth sits in the sand and you see Jack so enraged he pulls out the pistols, and looks like he's literally fighting against himself, before putting it away again. My favorite scene in the whole movie, just seeing that absolute "I want to kill her, but I can't!" battle in Jack's body language lol
The ride came first. The reason people thought this would fail is because it was based on a ride that wasn't particularly exciting
sort of like how the movie Battleship was based on a board game.
At this point why doesn’t Duck just make a film reaction channel so he can catch up on the last 80+ years of pop culture that his kidnapper has kept him from
Because copyrights
I plan to but that’s a huge time commitment and UA-cam’s copyright system would make it ever harder
Because that would require too much "work"
Mythbusters did the canoe submarine on a pirate special and it was hilarious how quickly they busted it. They went as far as to throw physical logic for the scene out the window and weighed down the top of the canoe from the inside but the trapped air pressure literally made the whole thing snap under the weight before even possibly submerging.
I swear you've probably seen more parodies and abridged versions of things than the actual things they're paroding/abridging.
Shh, his duck brain can't comprehend
Ahh that’s probably true
25:47 - 25:59 "😨😰😵As cold as the cgi fish man I'll be playing in Green Lantern (2011)."
12:38 Yeah, you're thinking of jaundice. Makes sense, since pirates of that time - well, a lot of people - weren't the most health-conscious.
2:24
Honestly, considering your lack of pop culture knowledge, I see that as a good thing (that is if he’s treating you well during the kidnapping)
"Was that Andre the Giant?"
In The Princess Bride, when he was 16.
He was 16….
Andre was born in 46, Princess Bride came out in 87. So, he would've been 41 years old when doing the film.
@@thehonestreviewer7754 Hmm, ok. I can't remember where I foulnd my source. Guess it was wrong.
25:34 Yep, pretty much that how it goes. The only way to lift the curse is to return the gold coin and a bit of you blood as re-payment to not remain cursed for all eternity.
16:48 Dave’s Jones was from the second Movie “Dead Man’s Chest”.
5:15 Why are so shocked by that? Of course people thought Pirates Of The Caribbean would fail! I was one of them too. I mean c’mon man all we were basically told about this film before it hit theaters was that it was going to basing off of a Disney park ride that lasts for about 5 minutes and pretty much everyone at the time thought how can that concept possibly be made into a feature length film. And then the movie came out in theaters and the naysayers, including me, were proven wrong and now the Pirates films are some of my favorite movies.
I recommend the Nostalgia Critic's review of the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie
0:43 There’s 5 of them Now. This is the First one. Possibly a 6th one sometime in the future, but no announcement has been officially made also no trailer yet, but when it drops we’ll see where the franchise goes.
Jack Sparrow is the face of the movies 🎥🍿so that makes sense people would cosplay him.
- The reception of movies 4 and 5 clearly showed Jack wasn't the reason for the movies being a hit
- 16:08 "Oliver!"
- At what point do we petition to start movie reaction?
oh I remember the pirates vs ninja thing in school
I don't believe in the supernatural but i wouldn't be surprised if it exists, we had giant lizards running around and most of the ocean life looks alien.
You HAVE to watch Batman the Dark Knight, Heath Ledger was simply amazing
11:16 Yes, it is based on the Theme park ride at Walt Disney World.
MAN, the universe really won't stop! I watched pirates 1 and 2 like a month ago but we left the third half way. Since then everything and I mean EVERYTHING has been recommending it to me, Spotify, UA-cam, YT music, TV, shit if you wondered why the theme song started playing randomly during the Oscars is cause we need to finish the third one!
In Barbossa's defense on marooning Jack on the same island, he only escaped because of the rum runners that frequented the island before - but thanks to Port Royal's navy under Norrington's command, their business there has stopped, so the odds of Jack escaping again were slim to none.
Puompkin pancakes are actually pretty good. Actually i had pumpkin muffins once that had a cream cheese filling. Man it was years ago but that was actually tbe best muffin I probably ever had. Like any single five dollar large muffin should not be worth the price but yeah. That was worth the price.
3:24 Uhhh the Deadpool has already been Marvel’s first R rated movie. When it first came out plus it’s sequel 😂.
Blade (1998): Am I a joke to you?
Daily reminder that there were Marvel movies before the MCU:
The X-Men movies, the Blade trilogy, Daredevil, the Men in Black movies, every Spiderman NOT starring Tom Holland, etc.
@@peair2000 men in black is Marvel?
@@justsortathere540 they technically do. The actual short lived comic that the movies were based on were published by Aircel, who would later be bought by Malibu, who would even later be bought by Marvel. By the time the first movie released, it was a Marvel property.
Completely off topic, but you reminded me of a great fun video.
The Great Iphone Massacre by Internet Historian.
There's a bit about the iPhone jack in there.
... Have you seen any Internet Historian vids by the way?
From what I google, McSpaghetti was a thing in the 70s but got discontinued. It's only available in a select few areas.
Orlando Bloom is the actual main character of the 1st three movies but Depp overshadows so much that people mistake him for it. Alot people who never seen but heard of these films think that. Orlando Bloom is like the Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat who is easily overshadowed by Scorpion and Sub-Zero.
Wait he’s the main character??
@@theduckgoesmoo the 1st film is about Bloom going out on an adventure to save his girl and discovering his heritage. It's supposed to be his story but he gets overshadowed so much
Yah Orlando bloom will never escape legolas. It's just too iconic. Same with Pierce brosnsn and James bond. For a certain audience, that's all he will ever be
"I Feel Cold" - Barbosa's last words.
Yes yes yes pirates all month
Actually, you can get McDonald's spaghetti in the Philippines with a side of rice
Yeah, Barbossa feeling cold when he gets shot is a real medical symptom of bleeding out. Your blood is what keeps your body warm, so if you feel cold after an injury where you bleed, you're in a terrible situation, and most likely are going to die, no matter what.
I like how Barbossa's face goes from somewhat surprisingly pleased to somber as he says "cold". Imagine that being the first thing you feel after 13 years.
3:22 what do you mean whit "It's Gonna be", Deadpool 2 came out a like 5 years ago
But lets be honest Johnny rly did stole the scenes, Pirates 1 was suposed to be a comedy love story about Will and Elizabeth, commonor/pirate and noble woman, and Jack the secondary character that's suposed to be a comedic guide, but in nearly all the other movies Jack is the focus, stealing Will's spot as the main character.
Still holding out for that reaction to the Catwoman review featuring Kirby.
That would be so good with Kirby...
On Stranger Tides and Dead Men Tell No Tales... yeah, they're kind of weak, but Dead Man's Chest and At World's End were definitely better than Curse of the Black Pearl.
Agreed
5:21 Guess their expectations were really low since Disney movies that were popular were Animated. Live-Action projects got a bit of a bad rap, but this showed them how good they could be and it did that and more. Tin-foil hat theory is that this kickstarted the era of all the Live-Action remakes of all thier Animated films. That just my 2 cents.
I personally do not believe in ghosts. I wish I could, because I find the idea of them cool, but I don't.
Please do a reaction video to nostalgia critics video called 'Is this the best Joker death '
You won't regret it , it's amazing
I wssnt even born when the movie came out , yet i still somehow watched it before you
There was a Star Trek month.
I don't agree with a lot of Nostalgia Critics opinions of this movie, but still a fun review
@@kakophonien6514 for one his opinion of Orlando' performance of Will Turner, his opinion on some of the sequel movies, stuff like that.
7:04
Still better than how they do it in the Disney live-action remakes today, where they beat you over the head with their callbacks!
😤
(day35) could you react to super mario bros z original 1-8 episodes , the reboot 1-2 episode by mark haynes
There's a pretty good Film Theory on these movies
5 pirates movies
Have you ever checked out cinemasins?
React to Nostalgia critic Super Mario Bros movie
Wait, do people dislike the second and third films. I don't remember them being particularly bad.
They're considered to be not as good as the first. I personally disagree, at least for Dead Man's Chest.
the first movie was... good--- the other movies, meh.. I mean to be honest (a dangerous thing here on the internet) if they completely took out Jack Sparrow character from the movies, it wouldnt impact a single thing to the plots, maybe be better? please be gentle in the replies.....
How the hell do you know Andre The giant but not even half of what was around when you were a kid? Also movie came out in 2003
Because he was a massive human and I find that interesting
There are currently, five "Pirates of the Caribbean" Movies
The first three Movies (Course of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, and At World's End) are considered A Great Trilogy.
And the last two (On Stranger Tides, and Dead Men Tell No Tales) were very disappointing.
Also apparently, there's six one in the making, and so far it informations about it, are not look promising.
I think you're slightly misunderstanding this franchise, At World's End is not considered a great third movie.
There’s currently five movies, with apparently a sixth one on the way.
17:27 Nice try, everyone knows wired headphones is just a myth that never actually existed. Don’t be fooled by such propaganda
Also I’m a JoJo character now
Wait a minute, you’re only 3 years older than me? How have you missed so much?
I have no idea
I would like for you to continue with Pirates Month.
i think ghosts COULD be real and thus i dont generally tend to mess with any, though i did download an app on my phone that lets you "talk to ghosts" and when i used and got an actual response, i immediately told the ghost im going to bed cuz it was 12 am, i kid you not clear as day i heard through the app "What?!"
"I've never seen Aladdin"
......rly?
"I did see Shrek"
Oh, at least that
[...]
"Ive never seen Little Mermaid"
Bravo. You are missing something, but you are safe from the "pollution" Disney caused to the beautiful original fairy tale
"I was six" I was thirteen-and feel you added that for a reason. Every time you give a age time frame, it keeps reminding me is your world growing up was pre-internet revolution. (And yet you somehow still seemed to have been raised in a cave, considering your pop-culture dephesit. Stop making me feel old!
Their eyes being yellow IS related to a kidney thing. It's called jaundice
At this point you should make patreon exclusive videos of you reacting to movies.
Did you grow up under a rock? Honest question.
1.This is one of those movies that it honestly about as perfect as it can be. Great casting and performances, great writting, nice balance of action, comedy and even splashes of horror and good lord the MUSIC!
2. Nostalgia Critic kinda skimmed over it, but a huge part of these movies is that all the main characters are *constantly* trying to double cross each other. Its shamelessly honest that the protagonists are not heroes by any stretch of the imagination, which is pretty interesting since this is Disney we're talking about.
....f- it, I'mma watch it again.
This franchise is brilliant.
Definitely continue this pirate month
11:34 Sister Act is a 1992 movie about a lounge singer, played by Whoopi Goldberg, who goes into hiding from the mob after witnessing a murder by posing as a nun in a convent. Good movie.
17:18 Yes
Yes, I definitely believe in Ghosts. There was a time in my life where I was obsessed with Paranormal Shows. Even though I stopped watching those, I'm still very intrigued with the Paranormal. Hell, I remember the only instance of it that happened when I was just a little Kid, but it happened to my little Brother. He had a Barney the Dinosaur stuffed Toy and he woke up 1 Day with scratches on him. Parents eventually got rid of it, but I don't think that was the reason.
2:24
I’m tempted to do the same!
😎🪢
Pls no
Deadman's Chest is better.
00:35 - 5 PotC-Movies. But only the 1, 2 and 3 are good - at least in my eyes. I dont like 4 and 5 and choose to ignor them
Your next video should be 'Why it sucked being a pirate' by Sam O Nella. :D
I still highly recommend watching NC's "Signs" Review.
Question:
When will you do another Video about your Fan-letters ?
It’s in the process of being edited I know it’s been forever but I can only work on it when I have free time which shows how much free time I have
cooking is fun my mom's a retired chef she's worked at fancy restaurants and fast food places.
so duck, if you wanted to become a pirate which crew will you join jack sparrow crew or luffy's crew from one piece
Definitely luffys
Looking forward to seeing you react to the next one. Now I understand you were really young when you first watched it, but even then I’d think moments from the movie would leave an impression on you. Question; How old were you when you originally saw this movie?
Kyle can you react to emesis blue please? It is a tf2 psychological horror film thats so amazing its ganna make you forget you're watching a sfm!!
6:12 Bingo, Will Turner was played by Orlando Bloom who also was Legolas from the Peter Jackson LOTR and Hobbit Trilogies.
You haven’t seen Aladdin?! You should watch it at some point it’s a good film. Guessing Disney movies weren’t things you watched as a kid. That’s why you’re always saying “I never saw ( fill in the blank here).
the pirates of the Caribbean ride is at Disneyland California, (I dont know if there is one at the other parks never been to them)
Why not just…watch the actual movies? Love Nostalgia Critic but he doesn’t have the best opinions of these movies. His takes on 2 and 3 specifically are pretty bad.
other then the how do they know where they are going which is valid and maybe the how do they have enough air
the rest legit would work
as for presure humans have scuba dived over 300 m deep
people have free dived 200 m deep so they are most def not below that
if they have something like a rock they could weigh enough to stay sunken
and the air they wouldnt need it to be for that long as it prob only take a few minutes also they could use it to float up just take the weight off (unless they weigh enough to pull you down without it)
I am that jack Sparrow at conventions. You're welcome
There was a 5th film.
5 films actually…dead men tells no tales was not that good.
You saw a movie?!? 😮Lol. A cameo would be pretty cool
2:24 Calling out my comment from last time and leaving me hanging on "and you know what?..." Lol
Collab time??? Call it: "Culturing a Sitting Duck" also known as "the Duck Goes MnhmN!"
It would be a fun time
Hello
This movie was an epic fail because we could’ve had Michael Keaton as Jack Sparrow, Heath Ledger as Will Turner, and Jaime Alexander as Elizabeth Swann. I’ll admit that the soundtrack is pretty good but that’s the only thing that ever stood out for me as a highlight throughout the franchise. Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer are the only reasons that i could ever tolerate and sit through any of these Disney Pirates movies.
Andre The Giant was in The Princess Bride.
Just popped in to say I'd rather see you react to films, than to Nostalgia Critic. Can't stand NC. You do you of course, I just won't watch these.
Unfortunately, UA-cam is very strict when it comes to copyright, so him trying to react to films here would be very difficult
Well, how bout that. I just completed the Pirates of the Caribbean world in Kingdom Hearts 3. And somehow, despite scouring that entire map high and low...I only got 69 percent completion of treasure finding. On one hand, ~nice~, on the other hand, HOW?!
17:16 I don't believe in ghosts like their traditionally portrayed. If anything I'd just wager a ghost as a demon who looks like a human. Not an actual spirit left on Earth or come back from the grave.
19:10 I like putting effort into making things too. It's just too bad that I have to deal with either someone always going horribly wrong to stop it, or that effort being ignored 95% of the time.
22:20 Celebrated everywhere for its parleys.
Yes, that WAS Andre, in the Princess Bride, a movie best summed up with the lines, "this literally has something for everyone" and "if you don't like this movie, you don't like films."
25:50 Fun fact: That bloody coin wasn’t removed in the Kingdom hearts 2 version of that scene so we basically got Donald Duck and unaltered red human blood in the same scene and it’s glorious
First, yes, please continue with pirate's month.
Second, out of all the pirate movies in my opinion anyway, this one still remains the best. I liked many of the other ones fine, but the acting and writing of this still rings well even today.
In the movie when Will asks Jack about his Father, the first words Jack uses to describe him was as a good man then followed by the description of a pirate. Tells you how much respect Jack has for many of his loyal crew members. Additionally, Will Turner only focuses on the word pirate rather than what Jack said about his father being a good man.
Finally, Geoffrey Rush is one of the best aspects of this movie as I feel he was born to play a pirate in something like this. In short, I really like this movie.
Ahh the benefits of having no preconceived notions. I never heard about Pirates before the movie. Disneyland or Disney World or what have you isn't any kind of big deal in my part of the world. I got to be excited at the trailer and enjoy the movie, imagine that.
so you are doing the Pirate-Month! NEAT! I guess that will bring you a lot more subs when you react to brandnew NC-Episodes
