ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸ :
ಮಹಿಳಾ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಚಳವಳಿಯು ಜುಲೈ 13, 1848 ಅನ್ನು ಅದರ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಪ್ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ನ್ಯೂಯಾರ್ಕ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯ ದಿನದಂದು, ಯುವ ಗೃಹಿಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಯಿ ಎಲಿಜಬೆತ್ ಕ್ಯಾಡಿ ಸ್ಟಾಂಟನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚಹಾಕ್ಕೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅವರ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯ ಹಾದಿಯು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿದಾಗ, ಸ್ಟಾಂಟನ್ ಅವರು ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಹೊಸ ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವದ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಿಸಲಾದ ಮಿತಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ಹೊರಹಾಕಿದರು. ಸ್ಟಾಂಟನ್ ಅವರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ಅವಳ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅಂತಹ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಮೊದಲ ಸಣ್ಣ ಗುಂಪು ಇದು ಮುಂದೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ-ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಯೋಜಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಚಳುವಳಿ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು.
ಕಾಲಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಚಳುವಳಿಗಳ ಪರಿಣಾಮ, 1979 ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರೀತಿಯ ತಾರತಮ್ಯದ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲನೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಸೂಚಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ನಂತರ, 1981 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಜನರಲ್ ಅಸೆಂಬ್ಲಿಯಿಂದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಮಸೂದೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು 189 ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಅನುಮೋದಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಆದರೂ, ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕಾರಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. 2000ನೇ ಇಸವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲು ಭಾಗದಷ್ಟು ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರುಷರಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಪಾಸ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
30% ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಪುರುಷರಂತೆ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಪಾಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವಕಾಶವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಹುಪಾಲು ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ಕಿರುಕುಳ ಮತ್ತು ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ಹಿಂಸಾಚಾರದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವು ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮತ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಲು ಸಹ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
2017 ರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಅನೇಕ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಪುರುಷರು ಕಾನೂನಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಅಸಮಾನತೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
History of women's rights
The women's rights movement traces its beginnings to July 13, 1848. On a summer day in upstate New York, young housewife and mother Elizabeth Cady Stanton is invited to tea with four female friends. When the course of their conversation turned to the situation of women, Stanton vented her displeasure at the limitations placed on women under America's new democracy. Stanton's friends agreed with her opinion. The first small group of women to have such a conversation led them to plan the next large-scale event and launch the women's rights movement.
As a result of these movements from time to time, in 1979, the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women decided on an agenda to expand women's rights worldwide.
Later, the International Bill of Rights for Women was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981 and ratified by 189 member states.
However, the vision of equal rights for women has not yet been fully realized. In 2000, women could not obtain a passport as easily as men in a quarter of the countries.
In more than 30% of countries, women were not allowed to work night shifts like men. In most countries women faced little protection against sexual harassment and domestic violence, and in some countries they could not even vote.
It is said that even in 2017, women and men continue to be unequally treated by law in many countries.
