So much nostalgia in these programmes. Sitting with my dad watching them. He loved them so much and I was just a child imitating when he laughed back then. Now I know why he laughed so much 😍
I love seeing Ronnie Barker’s daughter! She’s so cute and she looks like her dad. I came to watch this episode when I found out she makes an appearance. She good. Wish she made more appearances.
Am too frugal to use a tumble dryer n still rely on me clothes horse. My brother n I used to put a blanket over Mum’s one n make a tent/camp on rainy days. Love watching these. Thank U 😂❤
My 2nd favourite episode after Reluctant Traveller 😂😂😂 Granville dressed in Indian clothes killed me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 So glad I have the old DVDs of these golden oldies, completely uncensored 😁😁
I watched every episode UA-cam has to watch. I never get tired of watching still get a laugh. Open all hours, On the buses, Porridge, Old fools and horses, my all time favourite I still watch today. Great humour we don't see anyone.
100% agree with you there - don’t forget Rising Damp & Steptoe, absolute classics. It’s not an age thing, comedy sitcoms were far better in the 70’s & 80’s
Same, since lockdown I went back and watched a lot of old comedy series and they are far superior to anything we have now. Nobody worried about PC, and it's normal to watch.
HILARIOUS in every bit of it! My goodness I laughed my eyes out seeing Granville in that Indian traditional costume!! Why blue though? LOL He looked great in it too!! 😆 Again, it feels great watching this show.. it’s very relaxing and gently takes off stress and anxiety off chests! Watching the shop close from above.. I could easily imagine myself watching the light go off gradually one by one until it’s pitch dark. Could grow to be a ritual watching it close every night. In the matter of fact there’s actually a tailor shop just across the street that I look at every time I washed something in the kitchen sink. Never fails to warm up my heart. It’s been there since I was little.. different owners every good set of years. There’re those times when I’d worry for the shop stays dark at dusk and through the early hours of the evening. I heard the new owner is young in age. I guess I cannot escape my material sensitivity. ☺️ I stop worrying once I see them lights streaming across the screen window pooling onto the sidewalk but still kinda wonder if he was okay! Sometimes I feel like stopping by with a tin box of candies or a hot meal or just a box of crackers and introduce myself and tell him we been here long enough if my family didn’t tell him already.. haha.. but then again.. it’s a different time.. different generation.. not sure how’d my neighborly approach be interpreted. Oh, well.. maybe someday I will stop at the tailor on my way walking back from the grocery store with a treat in my hand. I always feel for foreigners. If anything.. my approach will count as care and that should make him sleep better at night. Good night everyone 👋🏻 ✨🌒
Thanks for sharing this . This is my favourite episode of open all hours . I was disappointed to Learn that steaming company like BritBox has taken this episode off just cos the modern generation is easily offended theses days .
Offensive? I'm glad I was an adult long before the era of the snowflake. My family loved all these old comedies. I can't imagine life without these smart, witty programmes. The modern generation are dumbed down by censorship.
Thankfully I have the series on DVD as I’ve noticed this episode is not on streaming platforms. That aside, nothing better than British Comedy to cheer one up if they’re having a bad day. 😎
Its very refreshing that this episode is still here. The snowflakes get a life. The English are taking the wotsit out of ourselves. Such gentle humour and birlliant
How is darkening your skin to pretend to be Indian, the English taking the piss out of themselves? Also, you can’t even say a swear word, but we’re the snowflake? 🙈😆
There is many different levels , now so much red tape I am a Yorkshire born lad , and this is before all the bullshit, we got along we accepted we still do but this show just reminds me of the special relationship we have with the corner shop, we are english but we are not racist well I am not anyway , brilliant show 😀
7:07 Only Fools and Horses 13:37 The Big Bang Theory Yes, today's snowflakes won't get it, but boy were we in for some surprises with those two foreshadowings 😂😂❤❤
This episode of Open All Hours would never get repeated today due to the brownface that Granville has on towards the end of this episode. ''You don't honestly think i'm gonna get away with this do you.'' ''Well i'll tell you what I can get you a job with Richard Attenborough.''😂😂😂
That one gets done for copyright on all the channels, but I found it in two 10 mins parts on here and the 3rd part is on daily motion. It's a really great episode.
Anyone catch the reference to The Nag’s Head of Only Fools And Horses fame by Arkwright to Granville (David Jason - who playing Del Boy concurrently with Granville’s character). I thought that a cool nod to the other series.
I know I'd rather watch this than any of the recent comedies or soaps ,I just can't watch things like coronation st or eastenders anymore, murder, depressing story lines, drugs etc,and they think comedies like this are offensive, I'd even rather watch love thy neighbour than what's on now ,it wasn't racist it was poking fun at racism and showing how ridiculous it was,if you read between the lines you could see that, and in fact in real life they was all best of friends, and they wonder why the world is in such a state.
sad they are not making anything near as good today. think they have lost the recipe. porridge, rising damp, fools and horses. everything seems a poor second best, glad I lived through a time where there was such good comedy and drama programs, all lost to history now apart from on here of course.
Awww upset poor didums. Did you protest as much when they cast a blk woman to play Anne Boleyn recently on a TV show? A real historic figure. Because some sections of society have low self esteem.
This is the funniest episode of Open All Hours! Regards from watcher in Norway
Epic comedy acting by two of the finest and its a joy to watch it again.
So much nostalgia in these programmes.

Nice mémoires 😊
That was heartwarming 💐
Funny how our best memories are those spent in front of the telly.
@@hana.the.writer5074 That's sad!
The seven bottles of milk, brilliant 😂🤣 nurse Gladys is wonderful and the milk lady too. An overall fantastic cast 👍👍
😊
Granville is always baking. Great to watch him knead.

So right, the greatest era of comedy 👍
Can't forget One Foot In The Grave!
Absolutely agree I'm the same i watch over & over again just fantastic.
Grandvill in an indian dress absolutely killed me! As a south asian lad I love it ahhahahaha
I watch oah everyday on utube its just grrrreat & I don't get tired of it absolutely brilliant.
I thought I’d make a custard 😂😂😂
Every scene with him and the nurse is just golden.
"Like your frock Granville", that was Charlotte Barker.
Ronnie Barker's real-life daughter.

If you mean the' colour' content, it is only offending to the ones that shouldn't be here. This is British comedy for British people!!!!!
@@deboraharmstrong7081 I’m sorry I’m not sure what you mean?????????
The British are not offended, only the ones that shouldn't be here! If they don't like the way we do things they can leave!!!!
@@Aliuk99 Well work it out.
Brilliant tv shows. Still makes me laugh. 🤣🤣🤣💙❤💙❤🤣🤣🤣
'Nobody uses those clothes horses anymore'...my mother still uses one!
😆
Amazon Prime has taken this episode down obviously because it's "offensive" to the snowflakes, so thank you very much for uploading this.
Also missing from Britbox as well😠
What's offensive? Other than a non Caucasian gets screentime?
@@thebrainpimp6779 Watch what one of the shop keepers dresses up as then you'll see what is deemed as a snowflake melter.

Not on UKTV channels, either. Personally, I wish they wouldn't try to edit history by hiding it.

I see this episode is absent on BritBox 🙄
Love it love it great actors of all time ❤❤❤❤
Greatest comedy ever
Brilliant, true British 🤣😂
29;19 I think Granville spent more time in Nurse Emmanuelle's bosom than Arkwright did lol
He do
This episode of Open All Hours would never get repeated today due to the brownface that Granville has on towards the end of this episode.
''You don't honestly think i'm gonna get away with this do you.''

Amd step toe amd son
Couldn’t get away with a stutter either unless it was traumatic for the character, and curable ... and not in a comedy 🙄
Oh do be quiet!!!!
To the British it is funny and we are in Britain.
'Grotty'; was trying to remember that derogative just the other day....
Brilliant!😂😂😂😂
funny episode Hello from the Philippines.
Can you upload S4E1-soulmate wanted? Seems to be missing from the list

Next they’ll ban this fantastic comedy because Ronnie stutters.
Not sure I've heard anyone else suggest this but maybe I guess #openallhours
I LOVE THIS PROGRAM
Love it love it love it
Arkwright: special ppppair
*looks across the street at nurse Gladys
Grqnville : oh that special pair 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This episode is missing from Nowtv pity it's funny .
"Some say puff pastry, but that's a wicked lie." " ow do, lovely day."
David Jason dressed as an indian woman now with skin tone make up and everything would shut the BBC down.
Perhaps former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak would have a sense of humor and support it init #openallhours

the milk woman sounds quite posh on this episode
Why should I care what Gupta’s up ta
almost knocked his eye out
It’s been a funny day wonder if we’re having tandoori later
This episode is missing from Britbox
Now they all are, which is bollocks
What ever happened to Gupta
Granville was so unhappy working in the shop, but yet he continued after Arkwright passed away.
What else was he going to do?

Hi Waiting For God,
You are missing Open All Hours season 4 episode 1 and episode 5.
Sorry of troubling you.
thats a stretch, clothes horses as marital aids!!
WARNING- THIS EPISODE MAY CAUSE OFFENCE TO THE HUNGARIAN HORSE INFANTRY
:-)
No wonder Netflix and Britbox don't show this.
Awww upset poor didums. Did you protest as much when they cast a blk woman to play Anne Boleyn recently on a TV show? A real historic figure. Because some sections of society have low self esteem.
Sexism and near sexual harassment was so funny back in the day.
Just ask your dad. He would have done lots of it.
Sexual harassment? Where? The milkwoman who kept kissing Granville first? Or the boob hugs instigated by the women first?
Don't be so pathetic
This episode removed but the one where they mock Chinese is still up 🤣
Because of blackface, I assume.
