Next time you’re in Paris and want an appointment at Hermes, let your hotel concierge call them up and give you an appointment. The hotel I stay at (Le Meurice) always do that for me and they always give me an appointment the same day or the day after. I’m sure Hermes will give an appointment to a person staying at the Cheval Blanc.
They are not doing that anymore. I went twice last year and I stayed at two different hotels ( High end) and was told the same. They do offer to do it but thru the same lottery system, they are not getting any privileges at Hermes for the hotel guests anymore. Sad 💔
@@yinetrodriguez4797 Oh no! That really sucks! The last time i’ve been to Paris was before Covid in summer 2019. I guess rules change year by year 💔.
Yess… So sad
I'm 50 and haven't been to Paris, so hearing you gush about your first time makes me dying to go. I need to go by myself and just eat bread and shop!
I remember living in Paris for a few months during college (back in 2001) and was bowled over by how lovely all the people were. My French was "passable" but they were all so understanding and patient. Your Parisian vlog made me want to go back toute suite!!!
Love your intro regarding languages. Here's the thing tho: Not everyone does speak english but I noticed most people understand a good bit and try to help you anyway, especially in Italy. Whenever I asked for directions they would try to help me with a crazy mix of Italian/English and it was always helpful lol. Just really sweet. And I'm not a native english speaker myself but it's (as you said) the *one* language that's helped me everywhere I went. Btw: If you enjoyed Paris, visit Rome next. Trust me on this one.
So much respect for an influencer who travels and does not only get footage from luxury stores....I find that so tragic and mostly do not finish watching. So happy to see you treated yourself to then full Paris experience. I myself was surprised by the pizza not only in Paris but in all of France...feu du bois 😂. And the large Vietnamese population means great food too. The art, history and architecture is unparalleled. I like your purchases too!
Michele, you really make it feel like I’m just sitting here talking with a good friend! Thank you for being you and bringing us such amazing content. ❤
💯
Me too. She's my friend and she doesn't even know it :)
I love Paris in December. Chestnut stands on the streets, fabulous decorations, real French experience with less tourists, great walking!
Being in Paris you feel like you’re seeing the world through rose coloured glasses. The light is soft and walking around is a joy with the occasional sound of old world music here and there. It’s been my favourite city so far in my small amount of travel.
You described the energy and vibe differences between NYC and Paris, and Europe in general, so well. Having travelled extensively, I completely agree with how you described the differences and similarities💞💞
I’ve been to Paris 3 times and I’ll never get tired of it. It’s so absolutely stunning, and I agree - people are so nice!
Those Chanel shoes … perfection! And the clasp on the Celine just looks so French architectural just right.
Michele I love how forgiving, understanding YOU ARE in all that you exude - it's a warm and blanketing wonderful energy from yourself. Just enjoy watching you doing & taking from that place - about ANYTHING :) And I usually can't/don't feel like doing that with other people on youtube. Just love your presence, the way you are :) ❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing Michele! I am so glad you had a great time! ❤
The NYC energy is the best. I have lived in the tri state area all my life and it never gets old, I love it. Gorgeous purchases! I love the Chanel shoes.❤ Thanks for sharing, glad it was an amazing trip!
Lovvve the Chanel flats! And the Celine bag is gorgeous! So beautiful.
The new gloss sorecery form. L E. is the best colour ever! The best gloss in the world!
Don’t be so hard on yourself! You’re the most well spoken content creator I have ever watched, and it is one of my favorite things about you!
The Celine bag is so so beautiful.
Paris is pretty in every season but agree the Winter is lovely with less crowds. One plus in Summer time, everyone picnics along the Seine.
I love how you described Paris vs NYC.
Both my faves but in different ways. ❤
I love what you’re sharing, just incredible! This is a true vlog that I love, your thoughts your feelings, the exchange and experiences… started from the humble beauty beginning to a broader lifestyle sharing and journey, you’re like my sweet old friend who I never met ❤
Your new Chanel shoes are absolutely beautiful! Dressy but comfy looking and elegant!
I feel so happy when I see a new blog from you. It’s snowing still here, my lupus has made my lip erupt and hurt from snow and sun and the dog shredded a roll of toilet paper, but you have made me so happy
So happy you had a wonderful time in Paris. I knew you would fall in love with Paris it’s a beautiful city, wonderful people, lovely country. Love the your purchases. Thank you for this Vlog Michele.
So happy for you Michele!! Enjoy!!!
Welcome back Michelle. Oh I love Paris so much! Was there a few years ago and can’t wait to go back! Love the shopping!
Love your real and casual way....love Paris as well...so glad you got there! Thanks so much!!
The Celine bag is everything!!
Great buys!! I have been eyeing the Dior loafers for a while! I love them! They are just the right feel ❤
Yes, there is life out of the US. And learning languages should be mandatory , it opens your mind. Love you had a great time🥰
I am dying to go to Paris with my daughters! I had thought I wanted you to visit the boutiques. But after watching this video, I’m so glad you didn’t. I love that you just enjoyed Paris for what it is ❤️
I absolutely adore that Celine bag -- have to get one now. Paris is relatively cool and moist in August, from my experience. The NYC energy became clear to me, as a native NYer, when my Brazilian friends (quite sophisticated, world travelers) came to visit me and I could not get them to go north of 34th street! It was so frustrating but they were incredibly intimidated and enervated by the vibe. It was a revelation to me as I go all over the world and never feel that. Everyone in Europe speaks English and I have to ask them not to speak English to me, just so I can practice my French or Italian or whatever. Great to see Butters. She must be so happy to see you. Thank you for taking us along and sharing this exciting milestone. 💖💖
LOVE the Dior loafers!!
Hi! I couldn't wait to hear about your adventures when you arrived home! Such beautiful souvenirs.
I understand completely that you wanted to see everything that Paris has instead of shopping. I do love your new handbag & necklace. Shoes are really nice! I can't wait to hear more in your upcoming videos. Thank you so much for sharing with us!❤❤❤
Celine handbag I’m obsessed
I love the bag and I'm glad you had a wonderful time!
Just found your vlogs and enjoying them so much. And YES Paris is amazing!
Love the Dior brogues and the Celine bag. Classics.
Bonjour Michèle, love your Chanel shoes and Hermès necklace. I'm French and live just outside of Paris. I wouldn't recommend coming to Paris in August. It can be pretty hot, full of tourists only because the French are very much away for a vacation at this time of the year. Merci pour vos vidéos !
Love the Celine! It is so classy!
Wow your shoe picks were incredible !! So chic 🖤
I'm loving the shift of content of your channel!!
Love that classic Céline bag! Lucky you for being waved through!
I live in Brussels, which has many foreigners working for international organizations like the EU and NATO. Although EN is not the mother tongue of most foreigners living here, it is the language used for communication. And it can work perhaps if you are a tourist or visiting for a bit, but things are different when one actually lives here. FR and depending on where you are also NL is needed if you want to deal with administration and even for everyday things. This is also the case for France. Long story short: for traveling and for sites and popular places one can get by with EN, but otherwise, it is impossible to get by without at least a basic knowledge of FR. Still, Paris is great for visiting! There is so much to do, one would need to go many many times to take it all in. Glad that you had such a nice time. ❤
I just loved your Paris vlog and so glad you had a wonderful time. Have a great day girlie. Enjoy your gorgeous pieces 💖🙏
I just want to say thank you so much for yours videos! I love the way you do all yours videos. It‘s such a pleasure! 💕💐😊
The bag is so classy!
The Chanel shoes and The Celine...Dying!!! And your talk om Paris vibe soooo true! xo
Love the Hermes necklace!! So glad to see in person. A lot bigger then I thought. Etoupe is my fav color! That is a recent style. Think they have earrings too. What a fun trip! Thanks for sharing!
I don’t understand why Americans have a hard time with the custom of nicely and politely saying hello when you enter a business or similar - it makes everyone’s day better to be pleasant and nice
I LOVED my first trip to Paris last year for all the reasons you named! To the point that we're looking at real estate there now. And a similar thing happened with my luxury purchases. On my way back into the country, the didnt give a fart in a high wind about my purchases, as long it wasn't certain food stuffs. Man was just like "sounds good, welcome home" while I blinked in confusion for a few seconds. Your buys are beautiful!
I’m going to Paris beginning of June. I’m a French speaker and already went there but it’s been a long time. The thing I’m looking forward the most is the food! I cannot wait!!! I am not planning luxury shopping much, I have all these stores close by to me so I don’t care but enjoying the city, walking, visiting the museums and such. This trip will be so nice I’m sure.
MIchele, thanks for showing us Cheval Blanc Paris. Such modern, luxurious and fabulously appointed accommodations. I haven’t been to Paris in 21 years. Stayed in the 75007: Hôtel Verneuil. A beautiful little jewel box of a boutique hotel, right across the street from Serge Gainsbourg’s house. Parisians definitely show their appreciation when you attempt to speak their language. Oh, the atmosphere of that enchanting city. I want to go back and indulge ALL of my senses, which would include shopping for special pieces at Moynat, Lemaire and Dries van Noten😍💁🏻♂️
Michele, I had so much fun watching this video. I purchased my one and only Chanel bag and wallet in Paris. ❤ I will go back again ❤
Love your purchases, especially the Celine bag!
Pizza as good as NY, wow! Glad you enjoyed your trip!
I was in Paris, on a school trip as a chaperone, this past summer during the European heat wave. Never again! It was so difficult to really enjoy the sites when you're dripping with sweat and looking for the next place to fill your water bottle. If I were to go back it would be winter or spring for sure. Loved your vlog!
Beautiful purchases Michele! I actually have two of the Celine classic box bags which were my dream bag 100% And so happy to have them in my bag collection. I have been looking at the Triomphe bag for a long time too but decided on the small 16 bag which I think is a little more unique.
Glad you had such a wonderful time. Paris is stunning for sure! xo
It is the very first time of my Life I hear French people from Paris are warm...... I grew up there, and.... well. I live somewhere else. But the food!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the best food in the world! Well there and in Italy!
Love the Chanel shoes, and the Hermes pendant! Tres chic!
Hearing you speak of Paris is giving me the butterflies. I want to go so badly and I was there but not even for a day. It was just an overnight layover and everything was closed as it was Christmas. 😩
Adore your Celine bag so much! It's the exact one I want to purchase. I tried it on in store and the medium sized and finally decided the small was good enough to fit everything I needed, haha.
Thanks for sharing!!
Michele, congratulatiolns about the things bought in Paris. The purses in particular... It is so true what you say about those who speak the English language being able to travel everywhere . I used to speak a few languages... I now speak only English and French..
Michele I went to Paris for the first time in 2018 and I agree that it was just so pleasant. The people were wonderful and the city is so beautiful. I was also worried because haven’t we all heard stories of how the French dislike Americans? I’m from a very small town in North Carolina so I was really nervous as to how I would be perceived, I was sooooo pleasantly surprised. I also am 100% sure that you get back what you put out into the world! Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us!
So happy you enjoyed Paris! OOOOOo I love the H necklace! 🤩 and the CELINE!!!! Ahhhhhhh🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 congrats!
Love the Chanel shoes!
I ❤ your ❤ of Paris! (And your approach to shopping there!)
Loving your vlog.
Loved the shoes !! Glad you had a good time. Never been in Paris myself, hopefully one day. Thank you for all your great videos. ❤️🙏👏👏👏
Tres jolie! 🥰😍 Those loafers! 😍
I looove your Celine bag!
I think that calmer energy in Paris vs NYC comes from age. I noticed the same thing the first time I went. I’ve felt it in other cities that are so much older than the U.S. It’s like the city has been through so much and NY/U.S. is a teenager in comparison and can act as such. 😂
I went to Paris for my honeymoon back in 2015. It was my first time and I speak absolutely no French but I do Spanish which came in handy at a couple of places. However, I found that when I attempted to speak French the people would be friendlier and just speak English to me. The couple of times I began by first speaking English was when the locals wouldn’t even bother with me. As far as food, the best food I had in Paris was from a Japanese restaurant - delicious!
I got to go to Paris for my eighteenth birthday. I really enjoyed it but I wish I could go back and experience it again for my 60th next month.
Thank you for the kind thoughts about french people. I'm french living near Paris and I m not sure I feel Paris is calm 😉
That’s a very good description of Paris.
Omg! I watch ur channel enough but don't recall ur dog? Soooo cute! Lucky dog!
Love the Dior loafers
I love Paris and get what you are saying about the energy, we in the us feel like we live to work, there is so much more relaxed, they work to live….
Cannot wait to go to paris! On my list of places to visit/eat/shop! thanks for sharing your travels. BTW, I just got my MW sweatshirt and it is soooo comfy! Glad I found you via the Luxury Live show with Amy and Kat!
great you're wearing a beautiful bright blouse
I literally just bought those Dior loafers this week and I’m obsessed. They are perfect for every day & are very light weight. I love these shoes for us 😂
My favorite is the Hermes long Pendantt necklace!!!! Good INSPO !!!!!
I love when you're putting your make up and chatting. I always learn a few new tricks and, you make it fun- thanks. ☺ FYI Paris is hot in August -
Love your Paris adventure. I'm going in April and will check out several of your stops in the most beautiful city. It will be my 8th trip.
I want that classic Chanel shoes !!!!❤
Thanks for sharing! I look forward to visiting Paris 😁
Beautiful!
So cool! It’s Just like a close friend just did a FaceTime with you when @Michele does this ♥️
Michele, I knew you had some goodies for us. I saw this video and was like 😁
I also think that not everyone can afford to go to France. I went when I was young and it was very different 26 years ago than today. I prefer Portugal. Glad you enjoyed
Merci Michele .... Nice shopping ... 🤩🤩🤩🇲🇫🇲🇫🇲🇫
Your Paris trip looked amazing and it’s nice seeing your luxury purchases. Thank you for sharing the prices of your beautiful items. I’m traveling to Paris in the fall and the Celine Triomphe bag as well as the Chanel slingbacks are on my wishlist. I thought about getting them from each of their company NYC stores but will wait after seeing the EU prices and the estimated VAT refund. As always thanks for your inspiration, advice and love your vlogs!❤
Michele, if you love that lipgloss you’re wearing in this video, I know you’ll love Clinique’s Black Honey gloss/balm. Don’t let the dark color fool you. It’s NOT dark at all. You are going to love it. Perfect for you!!!!
Most Europeans can speak at least 2-3 languages. It is a part of our curriculum vitae. I am also multilingual. I travelled a lot and I can see a very distinctive cultural differences with the way people behave in Europe and the other continents like Asia, America etc.
I also worked in American/NY company based in UK and there is a big difference in work culture too.
Regarding the VAT, the EU charges a VAT of approximately 20% but the companies that process the refunds (such as Global Blue) take close to half of your refund as their “service charge” so you only really get about 10% back (look at the fine print on those forms). That said, the exchange rate is so good now!
Go back during the holiday season. No one decorates their city like the French. It is awesomely beautiful! And winters in France are pretty mild compared to much of the US. And the Christmas markets in Europe are so much fun! And I agree about the Italian food. It’s our favorite cuisine and we went to a couple amazing Italian restaurants. And afternoon tea and macarons every day at Laduree.
I'm glad you had a good time in Paris. And I'm planning a trip to New York right now! I'll come for a week in September :) I don't have ambitious plans related to sightseeing, but to feel the city and watch the people. Plus shopping 🤩
I am the same with languages, I try so hard but I just don't have an ear for it. The struggle is real. Thanks for connecting with me on that.
Just hearing you speak about Paris, and seeing your videos, definitely makes you want to go. I do know French from 4 years in college, Spanish from high school (more fluent than French), and Yiddish/Hebrew from my relatives when I was growing up.
Michele, do you speak Chinese?
Sorcery looks stunning on you. Super pretty color.
Did Butters miss her mommy and daddy?
The logo on the Celine bag is just stunning. Enjoy your purchases, and thank you again for sharing your Parisienne experience!💖💖
I am so glad you loved Paris and the people! (Parisian here:-) Come back soon!
Gorgeous Parisian purchases my Dear Michèle ❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much 😊
@@TheMicheleWang 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️💋💋💋💋
I have never paid customs fees on lux goods coming into the US. I assume if u land carrying ur a shopping bag from a designer store they will stop you. But it’s doubtful they will go through your things. And I don’t think the purchases are stored or attached to your passport. The scanning of the passport happens just for VAT offices (I’m guessing!), they don’t share that info with US customs. That’s why it’s such a good deal to shop in the EU. Unfortunately Heathrow doesn’t offer detax anymore 😢. Surprised I didn’t run into you, we went to a lot of the same places 😅
