We have 2 cabinets in our kitchen. Literally 2. Naturally they were a disaster. I used you for inspiration and tackled them the other day. Packed two boxes up for storage, a box for donation, and a lot went in the recycling bin. THANK YOU!
I peel my ginger and freeze it. When I want fresh ginger I pull it out of the freezer and use a microplaner to grate it while frozen. Put back when your done. And I always have fresh! ❤
Your videos have been popping up in my suggestions for weeks now but the word "homestead" kept me away because from the videos I've seen by "homesteaders" they are usually large families with large plots of land to roam free and live. I misjudged you. It's refreshing because it is just me and my husband and we live in a condo so no land to garden and no storage space to keep a lot of stuff, but I still make all of our food fresh and from scratch whenever possible. Eventually I'll get an extra freezer so I can meal prep and save myself a couple of weeknights here and there. I've been bingeing your videos all day :)

If you're busy and time is precious, just sort and organize a few handfuls of kitchen pantry items at a time. Start gathering the spices together, the veggies, the boxed sides, etc... The more you get gathered together the more organized you will be and, the quicker doing a deep organize will be whether you do it shelf by shelf, cupboard by cupboard, or the whole kitchen. - If you end up really switching things up, put up a couple of post-it notes to label your cupboards and shelves; for the other people in the household of course.

I love the idea of the avocado dressing. I will have to remember that, I have a bag in my fridge that need to be used up. Try putting the ring to your instantpot in the freezer. It will help shrink it down until you can get a replacement ring.
I cook my spaghetti squash in the instant pot all the time! Cut in half, scoop out seeds, add 1 cup water, high pressure for about 20 minutes. Comes out perfect! Use it anyway you like after that. One of my favourite is to cook up a bit or garlic with melted butter, add shredded squash to warm, sprinkle with parmesan and a bit of basil or parsley. Soooo good!
Omg when I was a little kid, my parents had work colleagues over for dinner and I accidentally spilled my milk, so I called out for damn paper towel not knowing the difference lol

A little trick to prevent mold on winter squash: when you harvest them, wipe them with a solution of warm water and tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is an natural anti fongus.
@@tonyanorris6574 I fill a small pail (2liters) with water and add about 10 drops of tea tree oil. Using a clean rag, I wipe down all my squashes, let them air dry and store them in a cool and dry place.

Love your video's! Quick tip with the spaghetti sauce... pierce it with a fork all over then microwave for 3 to 5 min. This will make it so much easier to cut into and scrape the seeds out... trust me I know, I almost broke a knife doing it without microwaving it first.

Omg’sh, I absolutely love your channel so much!! I also cook from scratch as much as possible, because that’s how my grandma cooked, so when I first got married I learned everything that I could so that I could continue to eat that good food that I grew up on! :) I didn’t garden at first, but grew up with a family of gardener’s. So one year we tilled up garden space for an in ground garden, and made big raised beds that are waist height for picking. I still didn’t have a clue really. But I grew a little of everything just like you’re doing, and 10 years later, it’s my absolute favorite time of year. I grow a few new things each year, and I supply both of my neighbors and a few others with fresh fruits all Summer. I have canned, but I prefer freezing. I’m not on your level of food security, although, my pantry is majorly stocked at all times. Oh, and I love that you’re so sweet to make your husbands breakfasts each week. I’d never seen the baked oatmeal before, but thought it looked so good, so I ordered some oats from Sam’s, because I only had steel cut. Then today you do a steel cut recipe too, so yay!, I’ll try that too!! :)) I wish you much success! God Bless!! 🙏🏼

I've found that a pumpkin scraper also is handy for spaghetti and other squashes. I got one for 99 cents on a post-Halloween clearance and use it year round.
@@meagantrout2127 One edge and the tip is zig-zag (like pinking sheers) which is ideal for the scraping task. The other edge has teeth, which is ideal for removing the cooked spaghetti squash.
I love that you plant, make, and use your own ingredients. Cooking must be your gifts and talents you just flow gracefully at it. Best trick for spaghetti squash ever is next time Halloween rolls (or just go on amazon) around get a decent pumpkin scoop for pumpkin carving and keep it around as a squash scraper! I got mine at target and it is metal and super sturdy and it make scraping the seeds out of squash so much easier!

Green beans tip: if they get too old let them dry as mature bean. What you have then is great northern beans. Shell them & store for winter. 😉
A canning lid is excellent for scraping out pumpkins and squash.
An ice cream scoop with a sharp edge (not all have sharp edges) is a great tool to clean out big squash. And your hair is just beautiful!
I could watch you. Prep/cook/bake all day long!!! Some days I kinda do throughout my day....

When pealing vegetables I use a piece of parchment paper to catch the peals and it makes it easy to gather them up and dump them in our compost.

Awesome meals. Also I had the same problem with my instant pot. The seal was not seated completely. Pressing it down firmly solved the problem.

All of this is very impressive but those "pop-tarts" are the best thing I've ever seen. I can't think of anything better than that pizza and those pop-tarts. Thank you for sharing.

Love your video's! Quick tip with the spaghetti sauce... pierce it with a fork all over then microwave for 3 to 5 min. This will make it so much easier to cut into and scrape the seeds out... trust me I know, I almost broke a knife doing it without microwaving it first.
I meant to say spaghetti squash... not sauce. Lol
I make those for my kids all the time but instead of jam, we use pie filling. Its like a turnover. They LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

Omg’sh, I absolutely love your channel so much!! I also cook from scratch as much as possible, because that’s how my grandma cooked, so when I first got married I learned everything that I could so that I could continue to eat that good food that I grew up on! :) I didn’t garden at first, but grew up with a family of gardener’s. So one year we tilled up garden space for an in ground garden, and made big raised beds that are waist height for picking. I still didn’t have a clue really. But I grew a little of everything just like you’re doing, and 10 years later, it’s my absolute favorite time of year. I grow a few new things each year, and I supply both of my neighbors and a few others with fresh fruits all Summer. I have canned, but I prefer freezing. I’m not on your level of food security, although, my pantry is majorly stocked at all times. Oh, and I love that you’re so sweet to make your husbands breakfasts each week. I’d never seen the baked oatmeal before, but thought it looked so good, so I ordered some oats from Sam’s, because I only had steel cut. Then today you do a steel cut recipe too, so yay!, I’ll try that too!! :)) I wish you much success! God Bless!! 🙏🏼

I've found that a pumpkin scraper also is handy for spaghetti and other squashes. I got one for 99 cents on a post-Halloween clearance and use it year round.
I use grapefruit spoons lol but they are so small. The pumpkin scraper is a great idea!!
@@meagantrout2127 One edge and the tip is zig-zag (like pinking sheers) which is ideal for the scraping task. The other edge has teeth, which is ideal for removing the cooked spaghetti squash.

Best trick for spaghetti squash ever is next time Halloween rolls (or just go on amazon) around get a decent pumpkin scoop for pumpkin carving and keep it around as a squash scraper! I got mine at target and it is metal and super sturdy and it make scraping the seeds out of squash so much easier!
