    Unfortunately with a laptop that uses an iGPU & dGPU I have yet to find a way to have Turtle-WoW be launched using the dGPU, even though steam games run through the dGPU and I can start the Turtle-WoW launcher with switcherooctl on the dGPU. Very confusing.

    Hi, does it perform better when used with Proton? Because I saw other methods too, I'm doing my research before switching to Linux to abandon Windows 10 and play turtle daily

    Hey man, i recently started using linux and wanted to try out turtle, got it running good but I can only select 60hz somehow do you know a fix?

    • @PadlockCheeseCake
      @PadlockCheeseCake  Рік тому

      It's a known issue. The client they use can only run 120hz max from what I understand. For example i have a 165hz monitor but can only use 120hz in Twow and it only works in windowed mode for me and sometimes have to reset it again when I relaunch it. I researched the issue and from everything I read it's a client limitation. I can fire up a 3.3.5a client and play on Chromie or Warmane and it' works like it's supposed to. Try setting it to 120hz borderless windowed and see if you can get that to work. I hope this helps a little.

    What Linux distro do you use? Do you ever see bad FPS drops?

      I use MX Linux but before that I was a openSUSE user for years. I do see slowdowns at times but I think it's the 1.12 client Twow uses because I can play on Ascension, ChromieCraft, Warmane or any other server that uses a more updated client and it's perfect. I will say though the 1.12 client for me runs better in Linux than on Windows with my hardware and any slowdowns are very minor for me.

    Or just install wine and open the exe file as you do in windows. While this method works, using wine is faster and more stable

    I run Linux, Mint Linux latest version. I use to be able to run turtle wow 1.12 without any issues, but when they updated to 1.17 I can log in fine, but once logged in everyone has no clothes on, there is no chat, and everyone is named unknown. Turtle wow works fine with windows 10, but I am a Linux user not a Windows one. If anyone has any ideas, I'll give them ago

    How did you open steam?

    • @PadlockCheeseCake
      @PadlockCheeseCake  Рік тому

      You can do it via CLI or when you download from your distribution's software center it usually gives you a shortcut in the "games" or "accessories section". geekflare.com/install-steam-on-linux/
