And to be accompanied by who I consider the consummate Yes musician/fans? It's... well, it's nothing short of spectacular. I hope there's a pro sound/video coming!
Richie Castellano loves Squire and Rabin and did an amazing job. I’ve been a band geek fan for a long time and seeing this really makes me happy because this has to be a dream come true for them.
You guys knocked it out of the park. The bass solo in the heart of the Sunrise at 36:54 was killer! Jon Anderson blew me away during the section at 30:28. The drums during the 19:45 section were great. The harmonies were great. The synth was amazing, to duplicate all those sounds and and play those parts was impressive. Steve Howe has such a unique style that is hard to replicate and the guitarist killed it.
I just can’t believe this, or I guess I can. Jon is unbelievable to sound the same at this age. This band is phenomenal. This truly blows away that fake incarnation with Howe. Jon Anderson IS Yes and will always be. Jon you are blessed to still give us this incredible music journey. Such an inspiration
Jon's voice is as good as ever. I've been following the Band Geeks since they released their UA-cam vid of Close to the Edge a few years ago. Was amazed at how good a basement-buddy-band was at doing this incredibly complicated music. I've been in Prog cover bands - Floyd, Yes, Genesis, ELP, etc. - what an absolutely huge thing to be asked by one of the founders of Prog to be their backup band. Awesome kudos to Richie Castellano and the Band Geeks. VERY ambitious playing a piece from Tales from Topographic Oceans. Wouldn't it be a hoot to do new "Yes" music with Jon? Another "Tales" or "Relayer" perhaps?
This is absolutely unreal. Seriously, this is equivalent to seeing vintage Yes at their absolute best. I am totally blown away by this group. Jon is still doing an exceptional job and himself is amazing. The Band Geeks are top shelf all the way.
One of my "wish I could have" bucket items was to see early Yes live. I was born a bit too late for that. Was fortunate to catch this show in Reading, PA and it was everything I could have hoped that experience would have been. Jon sounds amazing and the Geeks did a fantastic job with the tunes.

A-double-men!! I saw them last night at the Palladium in NYC. Truly magnificent. Every song was a masterpiece performed with so much passion and joy. Having seen all the incarnations of YES, I can confidently say that Jon Anderson is irreplaceable. His spirit, his tone, his range, his timbre...it's not duplicatable.

I am holding tickets for this show tomorrow night in NYC. I saw Steve Howe’s “Yes Concert” last Fall in CT which was, at best, a weak tribute to the genuine article. Tomorrow night I will lean in to discover if the original Anderson vocals capture the ‘70s vibe I grew up with more than Steve’s instrumentational rendition.
I was at the Palladium in NYC last night. As a longtime YES fan an having seen all their incarnations through the years, I'm blown away by the level of performance that I just witnessed. Probably too much legal stuff involved but I would love a double cd released from this tour that included a compilation of all the tunes played!!!

Thank you so very very much for recording this. I have been a fan since 1973 and I love this band very much and could not see them this year. Your video was fantastic and intimate. Thank you again.
If I had a front row seat to such an amazing experience as this, I sure wouldn't spend the entire concert looking through my phone while recording it. But I'm sure the many people who didn't get a chance to see this show are grateful somebody did, at least. The Band Geeks are SO ridiculously good! Especially Richie on the bass - he TOTALLY channels Chris and his exact tone quality.
FYI I did NOT spend the entire concert looking through the lens of my cell camera. It was below my eyesight at my chin. For me it was the vibrations my body felt as they and their instruments sent it out to me and the audience. It's more than two senses, but that's all I can give the viewers. It's important to me, those who could not be there or go to any of his concerts, and to a memorable history to see this, even through a camera. Hope you enjoyed it!
@@Seekmage glad to hear you were 'in the moment' enjoying the experience. I know I'm among many who really appreciates you filming this but even selflessness has it's limits. This is the closest I'll ever get to seeing jon anderson performing this music, unless this comes to the uk, so this really is welcome. I bought tickets for what turned out to be the last night (i think) of the Drama tour at the Rainbow, by which time poor old Trevor Horn's voice was not at its best, so it was something of a disappointment and not what i had hoped. On the plus side, I got to hear the rest of the band in action, not least that shy, retiring "don't mind me, I'm just the bass player" guy, Mr Squire which as a fledgling bassist myself was a highlight. It's nice to see Richie also opting for the 'wallflower ' approach. The exuberance and vitality of classic yes music never fails to lift my spirits (whether or not they need it!) I have to say, this is pretty much the perfect set list played right. I hear they even include "the gates of Delirium " some nights. Incredible that jon can still sing this stuff. Jon Anderson is truly an Earthly Treasure. Pairing him with the Band Geeks is breathing new life and freshness into the long familiar and deeply loved Yes standards. This is what we wish Yes still was today, but sadly isn't. Thank you Jon and Band Geeks, the love shines through like the sun!
Saw “Yes” half dozen times in the 1970s . Thank you Jon Anderson and the Geeks for doing this and reliving my youth !
I’m watching again in amazement. Classics reborn. The Band Geeks and Jon Anderson have timeless soul. Thanks again Richie!!
WOW!! You can tell with every note that these guys grew up loving YES. Beautiful to see and hear. Thanks for posting!
My pleasure.
I am completely blown away. I saw Yes in the old days a few times during roundabout and Jon Anderson in a small club by himself in Boston. This just brings back great memories, and these guys kick ass!! Jon Anderson sounds just as good as he ever has. And it’s hard not to go along for the ride with Ritchie. Big fan of all. Thanks
Love how Ritchie's bass is painted in his signature lime burst! 😊
He plays a guitar with the same color scheme.

I think he calls his main BOC guitar a slime-burst finish....
Is yes in the hall of fame underrated band ,always enjoyed them.😊
They are
Band Geeks, thank you for honoring Jon Anderson in this way.
Drummer did an excellent job studying yessongs. Everyone did a herculean effort prepping for this!
I mean, that is the job.
@@morbidmanmusic it is. I watched all BG's studio yes covers. Drummers did pretty good. As a drummer myself, the missed beats, rhythm patterns, long and short beat mismatches really stood out. But he definitely stepped up his game for this tour.
His main instrument is keyboards...
@@richsinger4620 I was going to say that. He is really talented
@@DisjointedConversations some guys can do it all.
At 77 Jon Anderson is still AWESOME!! Every song is a masterpiece.
He 78
@@Atom-56 And will be 79 in October :o
He's 384 years old in dog years...
Jeezoh - they're really going for this - no holding back - no pretending - this is it! I love that Jon is wearing a YES tshirt! 🌠
I noticed that too. He is a fan!
@@ValThor-g2c who knew?😅
Jon said in at least one interview that he vocalizes and sings every morning. It's evident that he's been taking great care of his gift, and was so prepared for these moments!
This has to be so surreal for Richie! So happy for everyone, genuine good dudes. All of you guys are genuine rock stars!
Yes is such a unique and irreplaceable band that no one could... oh wait, ok the Band Geeks can.
I keep thinking what a thrill it must be for those dudes to have jon at the mic !!! Dreams come true! Phenomenal performance.
I can't say I'm surprised how good Jon sounded and how stunning how the geeks played, as good as the real YES. No exaggeration.
First saw Jon in '77. He is still THE MAN! Absolutely THRILLED to see him killing it in '23!!!
The fact that Jon's voice still sounds so good after all these years never ceases to amaze me
Yep. His voice is definitely like an 'Angel'
It was an honor and a privledge to see and hear Jon last Friday. It was a special evening of Yes music. Ritual was beyond fantasic. I just love Jon's vocal. The opening 1-2 punch, classic cuts from The Yes Album, set the tone for the evenings set list. Just a fine fine show... a special evening.. special band. a special era of progressive rock.
I couldn't agree more. I just saw the show last night and I was blown away! 💚👏
The band geeks are fantastic my god this is awesome 🎉😊
Amazing, Yes without Jon Anderson has and never will be Yes. This band he's with are just awesome musicians.
Holy shit, this is so good. What a perfect band for Jon! Stunningly good!
Outstanding.
Spot on.
Note for note Howe solos.
Wow.
Never saw that before.
Mr. Anderson you sir, still got it big time!
And now you have the perfect band!
The sound of the real YES. Long live YES ❤
I have so much respect for this band
Oh, my. Oh, my MY! How can Jon Anderson sound SO good after all these years? To be singing these songs, in what sounds like the original keys? And to be accompanied by who I consider the consummate Yes musician/fans? It's... well, it's nothing short of spectacular. I hope there's a pro sound/video coming!
Superb Musicianship. Technically adept, warm delivery, deep knowledge and caring. It shows!👏👏👏👏👏
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Literally in TEARS OF JOY and AMAZEMENT
This is the most wonderful item I have stumbled upon at UA-cam for a very long time. What a stunning performance.
Yes, Jon still has it.
These guys are better than the past 20 years of so called YES. This is just fantastic. So faithful to the music. I'm so happy for Jon.
Richie Castellano loves Squire and Rabin and did an amazing job. I’ve been a band geek fan for a long time and seeing this really makes me happy because this has to be a dream come true for them.
Sensacional 👏🏻👏🏻..Yes!!!..Jon Anderson..mesmo sem os músicos criadores inesquecíveis da Banda..deram conta .. muito bom!!!..saudades
There are many moments when if Jon were to close his eyes he'd swear he was on the Yessongs tour. It has all the fire and punch.
Hey Howe- won’t let Jon In YES? Well here he is-in YES!!!!
Love hearing the deep catalog brought to LIFE
One of my "wish I could have" bucket items was to see early Yes live. I was born a bit too late for that. Was fortunate to catch this show in Reading, PA and it was everything I could have hoped that experience would have been. Jon sounds amazing and the Geeks did a fantastic job with the tunes.
I close my eyes and it sounds & feels like it did back in the 70's! At Last !!!!!!! YES sounding Like Yes used to and Should sound, not the tepid Steve howe version. I just wish / hope that Jon and The Band will come and play in the UK. Come Home Jon we miss You!
Truly executed with the "Heart and Spirit" of the "Original Recordings!!!"..."The Band Geeks" did phenomenal justice to the recreation of the music of "YES!!"... accompanied by "The Vocal Maestro and Irreplaceable"...Jon Anderson!!!...who's "Angelic Voice" continually improves as time progresses!!..They "ALL" Captured the "True Essence and Nuances" of the "Original Performances!!"..BRAVO and THANK YOU!!!👏👏
A-double-men!!
@@lindazee ...I Couldn't Agree More!!👍😊
Really amazing The Band Geeks and Jon Anderson flawless, intact!! So much better than the from 2008 to today Yes. And remember: Yes without Mr Jon Anderson is not Yes.
Hmm, I’d say “so much better that the from 2003 to today yes”.
So good to see the captain of the ship back at the helm!
I'd say that about Chris Squire too
@@GrampsD63 let's just say that Yes is not Yes without Anderson, Squire and Howe. But it can sound like Yes even without the latter two.
@@leovanlierop4580 A good friend played with Stanley Clark on his live studio album and he told me that yeah he could play alot of what Stanley could play but in no way did he have the ability to conceive and write the music. Sure others can sound like Squire but nobody can write and arrange music like he could. He was THE prog bassist and always will be. And I'm sure singers are the same way too.
Totally agreed, this band is FAR better than Steve Howe's current Yes. The voice is amazing! Hope Jon considers a longer tour soon.
Would be NICE!!! Would love to see him one more time in my life!
I've known Yes for over 50 years, but Jon Anderson is Yes.
OMG. Saw them last night at the Palladium. Sheer bliss. 5 days?!? My favorite band of all time if I had to pick one. Started in 1970!! 50 years!! They have brought me such joy. And, apparently, I am one of only a few women who absolutely DIG THIS MUSIC!!!! 🙏🏻
Hey, I'm woman who has dug Yes music for 50 years.
Another female fan here
😅....Nah there are MANY. Others!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Jon looks like he’s enjoying it which is what it’s all about as a brilliant singer and performer sublime, I hope he’s well .
Beautiful. What an ode to professionalism these guys are. Flawless execution of highly complex arrangements. I always cry during "And You and I," and this was no exception. Thank you for shooting this and posting.
Thank you! So happy to do it for you!
Cudos and appreciation from your fellow YES fans!!
I saw the Baltimore show last night. And You and I did it to me too...like always.
Only six days of rehearsal with Jon? Not too shabby guys! I'm impressed!
The band geeks have been rehearsing way longer than that. It’s taken just about every bit of free time they had. Only 6 days rehearsing with Jon though, but with how well they play it’s more or less to iron out the performance rather than the technical
Jon's voice is still amazing!....and the energy & precision the Band geeks bring reminds me of classic Yes from the 70's....Awesome!!
Its PERFECT....OMG
I think he sounds better than he did quite a few years ago in fact.
No one can sing with the love and energy like Jon Anderson does, the band is amazing !
Holy crap! Transported back to the 70's. Thanks guys, you are phenomenal!
Amazing... All the good feels!
It was one of the very best shows I've seen in the last few years. Jon Anderson is a treasure. How did you enjoy the show? What stood out for you? Did it live up to your expectations?
@@lindazee I had tears on my face for much of the show. Jon not only sings better than ever at the age of 78, he was leading the room in worship. Band Geeks play and feel the music like the genuine article once did.
@denali9643 Wow, yes, beautifully said. He "took us to church"! It was a memorable experience.
Holy Cow!! This is so much better than Steve Howe's Current Lineup Of A Lonely Heartless Club Band!! This has the same energy I remember from dropping the needle on Yessongs 50 years ago!!!
This is real live music, no playing to backing tracks, no autotune, no lip syncing!
Probably too much legal stuff involved but I would love a double cd released from this tour that included a compilation of all the tunes played!!!
So true . This is the YES i remember from the 70s Id still love Chris to be there but i dont think he disapproves of this line up and remember he and Jon formed the band in 1968, im sure he's smiling down
Steve Howe Owner of a Lonely Band
I'm really hoping for a DVD - or double vinyl - even better!! These guys leave Steve Howe's bunch wanting.
Lonely Heartless Club Band. lol It's a shame Steve seems to have an attitude about Jon becoming involved with the band again. I'll bet he regrets it one day. Yeah, Jon still has that beautiful voice. These guys are superb!! Jon came to Nashville in 2019. I'd give about anything to see him with these guys. love and "light" to all my brothers and sisters...
@StarshipTrooper
Right back at ya!
The band have indeed made the music dance and sing again.
Thank you so very very much for recording this. I have been a fan since 1973 and I love this band very much and could not see them this year. Your video was fantastic and intimate. Thank you again.
Tears of joy rolling down my cheeks...
His voice .....how is this possible ?
Classic sound. Well done. JA is Yes. Period.
This band really sounds good. And Jon's voice still sounds amazing.
The positivity this music exudes puts me in mind of (don't laugh) Earth, Wind & Fire, though admittedly a little trickier to dance to. In short, thanks, this is awesome.
I’ve been in process of moving internationally, and have waited for a long time to finally sit down and have a listen to this.
Thank you so much for recording and sharing this, it’s quite phenomenal. Been a huge Yes fan since 1968, saw my first show in 1972, and many more over the next 50 years. Love the energy, enthusiasm, and pure joy on display here!
It's great to see and hear Jon Anderson with very good voice. Wonderful perfomance. He's a Master. A Master Of Light!!!
But not master of images?
There are no images to be seen without first having light.
WOW. This kind of thing unfortunately wont be around very much longer. With our legends all leaving us, you really have to treasure an event like this. So very happy to have found this and seeing Jon still as capable as ever. Kudos to all.
So happy to see Jon backed by a great band and performing the songs he so loves to sing. Jon Anderson is YES.
HOW CAN HE SING SO GOOD?????
Always thought Jon and Chris (RIP) was the heart and soul of Yes.
Band Geeks, Thank You for taking Jon on this trip.
Utter goosebumps, incredible musicianship to manage all of that complex stuff so perfectly, and Jon is magical, regal. Shining flying purple wolfhounds the lot of you. Thank you.

This is Music of the Divine. 🙏
Damn, Jon sounds as good as ever! It's crazy that this man is well into his 70's and still sounding this good!
This show was simply astounding. Jon's voice has never sounded better and the Band Geeks, to a man , did a phenomenal job with the music. They all truly captured the grandiosity and virtuosity of Yes' classic songbook and made them resonate with beauty and grace.
the band geeks blew me away and you could tell jon was so happy to be playing these songs again !!!
