    Your ideas are ingenious. I have been scratching my head... trying to repair my broken sand filter... trying to connect an old skimmer filter in-line... trying to electrocute myself a few times... a Kool-Aid® pitcher and some, what?! Pillow foam?!?! Love it, dude. Keep it up! If everyone had a pool, you'd have 50,000,000 views. What else you got?

    Awesome! Thank you for the share! I will be able to adapt this to what I do. When my pulp dies (because they always do) I will use my jacuzzi pump with a similar setup.

    Cool pool ideas. I have some of my own ideas I'm testing. I'm experimenting with solar panels, ionisers, fountains, filtration etc. Hope to have a product I can market soon. And what I mean by market, I mean craigslist, eBay and amazon. Wish you much luck, you sound inspired and the Mrs. Looks like she's got your back. Awsome.!!!

    Man you are brilliant! So many great ideas that are pretty easy to make. I really like your skimmer and shower ideas. Well I really like your heater idea too, but I live in Florida. It will come in handy around November though. BTW, your video didn't suck, I thought it was quite informative. Quality knowledge, Thanks!

    Wow I love it!! You have really made great use of all the knowledge out there on DIY. Awesome job with well everything. I love your sprinkler system and the solar heating. The use of hard pvc piping instead of all those bumpy hoses where everything gets stuck in them, is fastinating. For your first video I give you 3 big thumbs up :) One other thing thanks for the tips on chemicals, they will really come in handy. Thanks for sharing :)

    I LOVE these pool ideas. Can you give me a list of what to buy to make one? The pollen really messed up the pool this year. I also put hoses on the roof but the hose ends or metal parts rotted away. No idea why. So now we're back to square 1 with the solar heater. Being in Georgia and our pool being near a forest of trees it's a mess. What are the blue parts of the basket system? Did you get the filter baskets at walmart? Hope you can answer soon I'm hoping for a swim tomorrow and the pool bottom has these bugs and large green balls of pollen rolling around. Thank you Kody

    Pure Genius!
    Did you up-grade the "OUT" and "IN" on the wall of your INTEX EZ SET pool? I have ones that have a black tube that sticks out and you clamp the filter in and out hoses to them. I woul like to up grade to what you have and build my own plunger valves. I think i would have to cut the vinyl to do mak the hole biggerand that freaks me out. if it dident work i might be out a pool.....

    Cool build on the skimmer! How many gallons per hour does your pump do? I was thinking of building something like yours, but with an electric submersible pump. Also, did the blue part come from a pre-fab surface skimmer? Thanks for the video!

    Skimmers are good when your not home or cba to clean it with a net. But it is much quicker and less hassle to get a siv or net and get rid of the grass

    really nice, thanks a lot for this tips! really helpful as im about to buy a pool soon :) but only a 12foot one though, can u tell me how much chlorine/ph will i need to put every week?

    • @kodyfeltman
      @kodyfeltman  10 років тому +2

      I use about one 3 inch chlorine tab in a floater a week. Once you get your ph ideal about 7.5 by testing with strips I add borax to help maintain a stable ph so it doesn't fluctuate so much. This also makes the water sparkle! If it goes green you can always just add a bottle of bleach to shock your pool. Just plain bleach doesn't have all the other chemicals the tablets have which will raise your acidity levels and the only way to drop them again is by draining out some water and adding new water. Plus it is the exact same ingredients just a lot cheaper!

    Some Really great ideas here. simple but effective. how does the pump cope with pumping the water up into the solar panel? I tried some thing similar with my pump but it does not pump up onto the roof (2.5Meters)

    • @kodyfeltman
      @kodyfeltman  10 років тому +1

      I upgraded from single canister pump to the one in my video. You should do the same. You can find one for around $75 on ebay and it is a lot more powerful plus your pool will be so much easier to maintain. It is definitely worth the headache of a dirty pool. Plus works great with the solar system!

  • @teksatan4699

    aren't swim weights lead? not sure if they still make them out of lead but if they do, you probably dont want that stuff in your pool, if they leach out into your pool the levels of lead could get pretty high, again i have no iidea if they still make those things out of lead. just a thought

    This is what not to do my wife said. As I'm in ahhhhhh poor pump intex or not. Glad to see you using sweeps, and Borax raises the pH use acid or c02, Simple solar. Use enzymes and UV or o3 it kills what chlorine don't
