Great video. Nothing beeping in the background this time. I have fitted my Defender with a Motolita dished steering wheel + quick release boss from optimil and I also installed paddle shifters. Very happy with my setup.
The Optimill boss is a very nice bit of kit, I have one on my Disco. A note for any 200tdi Disco owners - count the splines. I needed a 36 spine Defender boss for my early 200tdi. I should really get the swivel lock as I occasionally have to park in dodgy places and don't feel like taking the wheel with me all of the time.
Worth noting that the optimill boss has a 6 hole pattern with pitch circle diameter of 70mm, so steering wheels need to match that PCD. Also take note of the splice count (48 vs 36) depending on your Land Rover.
Good advice
Huh, I always assumed the later Puma models did have airbags in the steering wheel. Good to know they don’t and that I can swap out the hideous factory unit 👌
Have this, excellent kit, worth it, peace of mind 😊
That would make it easier to work on the dash when, inevitably, you need to get under it. But for 180+ pounds I think I'll practice my yoga spine twists to get in shape for it! ;-)
I have the Optimill MOMO boss on my D90 and it's fantastic, however I am sure I heard there an issue with passing an MOT with what is considered a racing 'quick release' wheel? Can anyone comment if this is the case or just someone's opinion? Thanks. Great informative site, btw, especially when you're upgrading your project and comparing products. It's given me the confidence to get involved upgrading mine.
Is the exmoor wooden trim wheel compatible with the quick release boss? Thank you.
Hi great video does the exmor trim wooden wheel fit on to the detachable wheel boss thing ask so can I have the link to the that’s wheel and boss and lock thanks
It should. But only the ones with the smaller boss fitting.
Sadly a detcahble steering wheel is illegal in France. 😢
Thanks for the video. Could you please tell me the splice count for the defender 90 SVX hard top 2008? I'm interested in getting the momo quark package.
That would be 48 spline
@@LRLiveUK Thank you!!
Does the boss include the pins needed for indicator auto cancelling?
yes
Thanks
Can I apply this solution on a Discovery 200 tdi? Or do they only have the parts for the Defender?
Only Defender because of the airbag. Unless you fit an aftermarket hub that replaces the airbag.
@@LRLiveUK i was talking about a 1993 Discovery, 200 tdi, no airbags
Thanks
Thanks for the video. Could you please tell me the splice count for a Defender 90 Td5 1999?
Should be a 48
Can you add the link to the momo steering wheel please
sure thing up there now. And here if you need it.
