- In Zimbabwe, we met up with the lovely Oliver Mtukudzi, with his husky voice, a guitar and a drum we sang a song about a lady who lost her husband. It was a pleasure to meet him and spend the evening jamming the night away.
What a great experience we are having collaborating with different people and learning about the diversity and also the similarities of cultures from around the world.
Rest in peace, Oliver. Always loved and never forgotten.
joss you have just met a legend there ..

love what you said...
Joss, you are very lucky. Tuku is an absolute legend. My late father loved his music. He got me listening to Tuku from a young age and now I'm passing on the gift to my kids.
Oliver is one of the reasons I want to visit Zimbabwe!
Nicholus Kimali good musc
Sadly he is gone.....
He is dead now 😞
This man is legendary!! I grew up with this song and I'm all the way in South Africa
Found it in Kenya...It found me actually 😏

3 years on....still listening to this melodious voice. RIP Oliver!!!
Didn't know that the immense
Oliver Mtukudzi was not among us anymore, until coming across this video and reading the comments. Curiously just exactly one year after his departure. Maybe a message from musicians' paradise. RIP Oliver, and thank you for this pearl Joss
A god with a guitar. A genius in his element. Thanks Joss. You can at least say (when all is said and done), I once briefly stood in the shade of a lion!!!!!!!!
Joss did right. She went to
where it all began and chose a legend unparalleled. If she didn't know then she sure does know now that she was in the presence of greatness.
What a beautiful collaboration. Loving this to the core. RIP legend Mtukudzi.
I have seen a lot of your World Tour videos Joss. This by far, is the best!

R. I. P the king of Afro jazz
Y'all gon have to put a little more respec on my man Oliver Mtukudzi...he's not "a singer called.." he's THE Oliver Mtukudzi, an African Legend 😊
Nonetheless, I've so much more respect for you Joss...going to Zim & singing in the native language. Sounded great
I love your way, Joss. You're a different kind of artist. The kind of person the integrates instead of excluding. This is why I follow you. Thanks for bringing us music from the world, and thanks to all your friends from any country where you go. Pls keep on doing it. Never coming to Ireland?
Ruben Giner Moya josstone is music is in her blood
Glad you're enjoying the videos. We have plenty more of these collaborations to come. We may well be coming to Ireland this year. Please check our website www.jossstone.com for dates later on in the year. Team Joss x
Are you going to travel to Georgia too? We'll be crazy about it :)
Ruben the legend rested yesterday Jan. 23, 2019. Legends never die. They rest in peace. His music and legacy will live on!
@@henryluyombya I am watching a legend and this song with Joss only makes it all the more legendary... peace be upon him and may his legacy live on forever..
If you don't get goosebumps listening to this then you're not human!!
Tuku's trademark voice and guitar, a genius blend by Joss, Mataure's fitting drumbeat, all equal to a masterpiece music product of unparalleled kind.
Joss stone is interviewing a legend- she is talking like she is talking to a come up- she should be more excited but Africans are humble..
Rip our legend. That golden voice is gone😭.thank u beautiful lady for embracing our zim music and our legend.
We truely have lost a Legend may your soul rest in peace Baba Oliver Mtukudzi

you're all awesome... Joss you are doing a great job. keep it up!
How did I miss this beautiful collaboration. Joss 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Tuku is Africa's finest #Uncontested
Tuku is the best amana
i am sinking into the melodies like titanic
Oliver is one of my favorite artists, from our neighboring country Zimbabwe. Neria is one of my favorites.
The drummer is killing it and on point!
I was waiting for this for a long time. Thank you Joss for visiting HARARE.
Legend par excellency. Go well Tuku. Each time you sang it was from the heart.
A calm and relaxed song, touched by the lovely voice of Joss Stone, what do we need more!
You are so lovely Joss, thank you for sharing with us your music and your soul.
Joss is amazing! What a GREAT artist. She is, of course, improvising through this spectacularly. Her voice is magical.
Such a great, amazing song thank you God for giving us a legend Oliver Mtukudzi and thank you Joss
Oliver is a gem of african music.Jess stone, you just made history.Wonderful collaboration
awww so heartbreaking that two years later after this interview our legend is no more...his songs and his voice we miss....he really was good and after his death l realized it more than ever that there was only one Tuku and no one can ever replace him, reading comments and seeing how he was loved and appreciated beyond Zimbabwe makes me so proud to come from a country that he hailed from. continue resting peacefully samanyanga nzou, the legacy lives on.
Maravilloso sentimiento, que sería del mundo si todas nuestras diferencias las expresáramos a través del canto, gracias Joss por llevarnos a todos esos lugares.
Joss Kama "oh poor Neria, oh we gonna sing a song for her" My Tears😢 are rolling for poor Neria, if I had a daughter one day I will Name her Neria I promise....
Oliver is fantastic. He did a very good live set with The Black Spirits on KEXP. If you like what he's doing it's well worth the time to check that out. Goes without saying that Joss is, as usual, doing such a beautiful job singing with him here.
Steve Garbarini I agree. her voice is ethereal & yet grounded. total control, and I adore how she lets her spirit fly to meet others where they're at; blending her authentic voice into melded synchrony with theirs, instead of just taking the limelight all for herself.
I have probably listened to that live set on KEXP over 200 times now. I find it so much better than his concerts or cd's. It's much more intimate with just him on his guitar, his bass guitarist and the 2 background vocalists. I wish he would release a more intimate cd one day.
Don't really understand what they're singing about but they are all brave. The drummer is a professional. Remember my African Continent ✌
Oliver is a legend! Grew up listening to his music!
Love Oliver!! I grew up listening to this song
Through here I came to discover Great Oliver and suddenly he passed few months later. RIP great man. Your voice heals my soul. So soothing. ❤ frm Png Pacific Islands. Listening frm Philipñines
Loved how well she pronounced the Shona words #Respect. Had to subscribe.
Maravilhoso dueto, perfeito, música para a alma, a Joss Stone canta muito também, linda voz, parabéns aos dois pelo belo trabalho. Viva a África, viva Zimbabué. Axé.

Yeah Joss! You are in my hometown🙌🏾
He's an extremely talented well respected musician in his own right! There are probably more people in the world who know him than know you!
Irrelevant comparison. She is loved around the planet in her own right too.
What a song? It gets through my nerves.
This is almost addictive... I saw the first video half and hour ago and I haven't been able to stop watching them... Every single one is great! Is really beautiful and amazing what Joss is doing around the world with so many talented people -including her, of course-.

RIP Oliver Mtukudzi, thank you for teaching the world about our beautiful Zimbabwe. You blessed everyone in the Shona native tongue with melodies and rhythms that will never be forgotten. Traveling by her hand, from North to South, East to West, From A to Z... somehow the world is too small for her. And would be even less worthy, a lot less, without her.
