people keep saying that they were bound to break up because Owen wants kids and Cristina doesnt. And Cristina told him that if he really wants kids then he should leave her. That wasnt even the big issue. It was that Owen only wants kids WITH Cristina.
+actingislife100 Nope. He wanted kids. Period. Most people do....she wasn't the norm....Burke probably would have let it go....but Owen wouldn't have felt complete without being a Father....
You can tell how unsecure Owen is about his relationship since he always gotta bring up meredith's name in his and Christina's conversations. Like we get it, you're jealous but omg the man is rediculous when it comes to Christina's and Meredith's relationship.
people say if Cristina became a mother she would've been like Ellis. But she wouldn't of, she would've cared and loved for that baby to the point were it is just crushing her. Cristina is a very much all or nothing kinda person, surgery is her passion and gives her all to her patients. If she became a mother she would give her all to her child and she would stress over them, but the fact that she cant improve as a surgeon because of the constant stress over the health and protection of her kid.
@JapanFan81 Actually, she was planning to abort Burke's baby in Season 2. She had scheduled an appointment but she miscarried with the ectopic pregnancy. Later on, that season, he asked what she would have done and she told him that she had not planned to keep it.
Marissa Urias because he thought she would change her mind. Kind of ill thinking when it comes to Christina, especially after the whole Burke thing but tbh in this situation people do change their minds. @@lunarialoonatic she made it pretty clear that she didn't want kids at all so if he didn't get that that's on him and some people do change their mind but not everyone and if he just assumed she would change her mind for him that's on him too
At least she stuck to her guns. She would have been miserable and raised another Meredith. I think she loved Owen but she didn’t want to compromise herself in the process and I respected her so much for that.
Something to think about is the fact that she always said didn't want kids, she got pregnant, she had a miscarriage, she had a crying breakdown, and then she learned to have a life normally. So now that she is pregnant again, that might be in her minds right now. I wonder why she never told Owen about her miscarriage.
I'm just curious... I know they got married really fast (and while Cristina was suffering from PTSD), but when they were dating, why didn't they talk about kids? I knew some couples who were perfect together, but then they would break up. I asked why and they told me, it was the kid factor; one wanted them while the other didn't
Scotti Brown I think that the marriage happened so quickly that they weren’t really considering all the factors. They just knew that they wanted each other and thought they would work out the other problems as they came. Also, they were both still dealing with PTSD etc so they had a lot on their minds.
Owen knew before they got married that she did not want children. They were in the middle of surgery and someone asked Christina if she wanted children and her respond was “God no!” He knew and still tried to force her to change to give him what he wanted.
MJ 899 that's a terrible time to get married. And we can see clearly here that they know nothing about each other except that the sex is great and they are both good in their respective specialities
Meredith told her that it was a bad idea to get married and she didn’t listen and look at what happened. Meredith told Owen to not try to force Cristina to have the baby and he didn’t listen, look at what happened with that mess. Then getting married was a mistake.
I actually love this scene because it contrasts and compares their characters so nicely without “ruining” them. Cristina not wanting kids is perfectly her choice. Not every woman wants or needs a child, or is suited to be a mother. Though, Owen definitely has a point in all of this, to which the baby is his too, and he always wanted to be a father. This scene is both heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time, which basically embodies the entire Crowen relationship. I really miss them 💕
Which is why I feel like why even tell him that she's pregnant? Just get an abortion and don't even tell him. Telling him she was getting his hopes up knowing that she didn't plan to keep the baby. Why wasn't she on birth control? She shouldve learned from the first time she got pregnant with Burke. Christina and Owen wasn't gonna last. I knew it but the way she left was more of a cliffhanger to where she can always come back though.
So? If Owen wanted a child he could have adopted, but he never even considered that option. Why? Because he wanted Cristina to go through the emotional, physical, and mental labor of giving birth to a child for him, permanently altering her own body in the process all because she loved him? Cristina chose herself instead. She already told him that she wasn’t giving up “pieces” of herself anymore. You should never compromise yourself or your values for someone else. Period.
blooeyedtigger obviously you didn’t keep watching Greys because he did end up adopting a little baby boy named Leo so yes he did consider adoption. He didn’t consider it when he was with Cristina because she wouldn’t have done that either. She didn’t want kids in any way. He also now has a baby girl with Teddy named Allison. So he is happy now.
buddyboo91 I honestly don’t give a fuck. Owen is a trash and misogynistic character and he didn’t deserve Christina at all. I’ve stopped watching once Christina left and I’m better for it.
Uh, yeah she was. She scheduled the procedure. Remember? She scheduled it after she told Meredith that she was her person. She switched shifts with George so she could take off to have it done. She had a tubal rupture before the abortion.
@wintersprings22 I used to think the same, but I u recall in 2nd season she said to Meredith and I quote "It's not that Burke broke up with me. It's how he broke up with me. Like it was business, He ruined me. I'm ruined! He turned me into this... fat, stupid, pregnant girl. Who cares!" So I honestly believe, she was worried about Burke, not about the baby, she was hurt cause he left her. She never really wanted the baby. She doesn't want one, not with Burke not with Owen.
_Do you know what will happen to Christina if she has a child she doesn't want? It will almost kill her. Pretending she loves a kid as much as she loves surgery will almost kill her. And it'll almost kill your kid._ _Do you know what it's like to be raised by someone who didn't want you? I do. To know you stood in the way of your mother's career? I do. I was raised by a Christina. My mother WAS a Christina. And as the child she didn't want, I am telling you; don't do this to her. Because she's kind and she cares and she won't make it. If you don’t want to have a baby (which is perfectly fine, you do you Christina) take birth control and don’t have unprotected sex. The fact that she has gotten pregnant TWICE seems a bit irresponsible and careless. It’s a tricky situation when one partner wants a baby and the other doesn’t, I hated that they were put in this predicament.
Ah Yeah, typical blaming woman for being pregnant twice in her whole life. Guess what - sometimes the man doesn’t want to put it; the pill could not work and tubal litigation has some severe effects on woman’s body (in in contrast to vasectomy). So no, it’s not ,,you don’t won’t to be pregnant so if you get pregnant twice within many years, you are being irresponsible”. It’s life.
Not sure why so many people are mad at Owen here? It's kind of a real situation. Neither of them are wrong here. He wants a kid and she doesn't. It happens.
@@AnHeC yet she still continued to have unprotected sex with him knowing how complicated things could get if she got pregnant. @LetYourLiteShine17 Well you know I agree with you. And I made my point clear. But it was not very welcomed. However. The baby is gone, now we'll see how this will work out. If Sandra Oh's contract is not renewed we'll have the answer why Shonda Rhimes chose the abortion for the Yang charakter. It would also mean they definately split because McKidds contract runs till season 9 ans Oh's till season 8.
@italuder ya ur right but I read about what's gonna happen on the next episode and it says Christina and Owen try to be normalcy. And that's means normal so idk I guess we will see this Thursday!
He seems okay in this scene but I can’t help but think about later when he’s telling her “everyone wants kids” and “you’ll change your mind” and generally being misogynistic.
Of course Christina could have handled it and I honestly think she would have been a good mom. But the whole point is that she didn't WANT it. And the fact that they made her stupid enough to get accidentally knocked up twice was really poor writing.
@italoluder I so agree with you. But, what I want to see is that if they keep the baby, whic my fingers are cross for that, is her seeing it on the monitor and hearing the heartbeat.
@lababe1996 abortions are legal but highly controversial in this country between the two primary parties. For moral, civil, and financial reasons, Democrats want it to be "readily" (for a lack of better term) available and more accepted while Republicans want to illegalize it. Whether or not abortion should be covered by insurance is the most addressed and relevant issue right now. IMHO, It's a terrible position for both Cristina and Owen to be in. I do think they both deserve their say.
@msmez8 U contradicted yourself. First you say she was being too cold, then you say she is being weak. How is not wanting a baby weak or cold? She does not want a freaking baby!
I agree with u...they should've discussed it in advance(in real life, most people would have)! But in shondaland or fantasy life, I can only rationalize that she had PTSD and he just want to take care of her and be there for her and getting married was what they she needed to feel safe after the shooting and all the drama with the Teddy-Owen-Crustina love triangle at the end of season 6??? Just my thoughts!
I have watched every episode related to this' and every spoiler and read every artical and this is what I came up with: 50% she will keep the baby 30% she will lose this baby like last time. 20% chance she will not keep it.
“i respect children.. i think they should have parents that want them”.. please .. owen was annoying here i wanted to just punch him. the child would have years and years of long and painful memories. because it’s mother didn’t want it. she would of been forced to have it had she listened to owen. i personally love babies and can’t wait to have my own, but i respect when a women recognises that she would not be a good mother. why put the child through hell if you know you can spare it that?

Am I the only one who thinks she might be scared? She didn't plan this baby, but in this scene I keep thinking she might be scared of pregnancy (the hormones that might change her etc.)? She said it might be good in the future and she said that she's not a monster and would love their baby (and I believe her). I think she wasn't ready at this time and if she gets pregnant again she would think about it with owen and keep it. I believe she changed and I still have my fingers crossed for a CO-Baby
he never thought she would actually do it and get rid of it. that the tragic in it.must be a terrible feeling for a man to know there is nothing in the world he can do to stop her from doing that.....
They could work now honestly like since Owen already has Leo and she could be a step mom so there’s less than having to carry and birth the baby and raise from scratch
Despite the fact this is not his body, he still thinks he has to say. Bruh... I know men have feelings but ULTIMATELY it's 400% the choice of a woman. And pushing her to do something she said she never wants to do will not help your case
As much as I support Christina knowing and being firm on her values and that she doesn’t want a child which is absolutely her right… getting pregnant twice… you’d think if she’s really firm on not being pregnant she’d not only be on birth control, perhaps get a hysterectomy, or sterilized something…
@LetYourLiteShine17 They will! dont worrry. shonda rhimes cant afford to upset the fans much more than she did. I want to believe most of the fans were against the abortion. I did not like Owen in this scene and admired Cristina for being so honest and stand up straight, yet I cannot help but wonder what I would have said if the roles had been reversed. Now Owen is an ass who don't listen and respect a woman´s right to decide over her own body but if Cristina had wanted to have the baby and Owen had said no he would have been called a coldhearted asshole!
they shouldn't have agreed to a life together until death do them part if one of them wanted kids and the other didn't. owen wanted kids? that's great! cristina didn't? that's great too! but when they didn't discuss it before they got engaged or before they got married, they signed up for a life like this. neither person was at fault. owen shouldn't have been trying to persuade cristina to want kids tho. that was so wrong.
Maia Up She’s the one who’s gotta carry it to term, she’s the one who’s gonna be sick and out of commission and in pain for nine months, if she, as the person who was gonna have to do the real work, decided she wanted a kid of course she’d have it whether he liked it or not. But he doesn’t get to override her right to choose what to do with her own body, so regardless of what he wants, it’s up to her not him, and he gets to deal with his own emotions about it
Mew LePew then what’s the point of being married if your partner should “deal with his own emotions” about things, clearly they don’t matter then & you have no business marrying them in the first place ...It takes two to tango & to make a baby. @@Shadowsreverie We don't know if she is on birth control, and if she was on birth control then it possible could've failed which is why she's surprised that is happening. And getting your tubes tied isn't that easy, most doctors won't do that surgery if the woman doesn't already have children or if her husband disagrees.
@@Shadowsreverie also the repercussions of tying ones tubes are apparently severe - I only know from my mom's experience but she regrets it
This is where I hated Owen, I actually liked him up until this point
What did he do?
For wanting his kid? He should have as much of a say in this as Christina if he wants it
Dorian Crutcher I agree, Cristina was being selfish here. They were married, and he never had a say in this.
@@datadoesdorian you dont meet halfway on a baby. you dont compromise on a baby and Cristina had made it crystal clear multiple times beforehand that she doesnt want one and he stayed, forever trying to change her mind. You dont get to blame someone who isnt willing to give you something you want
@@Painleaves Gayglade that's fine but the fact and honestly knowing that they didn't agree on such a big life point probably means they should've broken up sooner. That's not just on Owen that's on both of them.
But now there's a baby. The baby exists. I'm pro choice and all that but I think that if either one of the parents wants the kid then they should allowed to have it. Giving the women all the power in that choice is just as wrong as taking the option of abortion away from women. The father should get a say too if he wants the kid
“children should have parents who want them”
i guess texas just doesn’t get that
💯
I love it when owen touches her tummy and she is going back with this determined NO :)
This is giving me Burke vibes when Christina didn’t wanna get married but he love Burke’s so much that she was going to do it but she didn’t end up having a baby so she finally listened to her self instead of a man👏
people keep saying that they were bound to break up because Owen wants kids and Cristina doesnt.
Blame Christina for that cause every time things get hard she runs to Meredith without consoling in Owen so I don’t blame him for being that way
people say if Cristina became a mother she would've been like Ellis.
God, I hope not. She is not meant to be a mother. Shonda already made Arizona go from no babies ever to ZOMGSPAZ Sofia is mine! and I hated that.
@JapanFan81 Actually, she was planning to abort Burke's baby in Season 2. She had scheduled an appointment but she miscarried with the ectopic pregnancy. Later on, that season, he asked what she would have done and she told him that she had not planned to keep it.
i hate the way he thinks he has some control over her body, that's sick. her body, her choice.
the beginning of the end.
It always breaks my heart when I see this moment when he want to touch her belly but she does not allow him to do it. 😞
Marissa Urias because he thought she would change her mind. Kind of ill thinking when it comes to Christina, especially after the whole Burke thing but tbh in this situation people do change their minds. I know people who wanted nothing to do with kids, then they got married and things changed. He probably thought she meant that she didn’t want kids at that moment
My favorite couple ever in greys anatomy
I agree with you 100%
Meredith told her that it was a bad idea to get married and she didn’t listen and look at what happened. Meredith told Owen to not try to force Cristina to have the baby and he didn’t listen, look at what happened with that mess. Then getting married was a mistake.
I hate this scen, just HATE it. It's causing so much trouble for this amazing couple who love each other so freaking much
I actually love this scene because it contrasts and compares their characters so nicely without “ruining” them. I really miss them 💕
snowflakesXsea you’re right. It’s a complicated situation and neither character is in the wrong.
I'm soooo happy and relieved the writers didn't have Cristina cave to Owen's demands.
And it'll almost kill your kid._
_Do you know what it's like to be raised by someone who didn't want you? I do. To know you stood in the way of your mother's career? I do. I was raised by a Christina. My mother WAS a Christina. And as the child she didn't want, I am telling you; don't do this to her. Because she's kind and she cares and she won't make it. The guilt of resenting her own kid will eat her alive._
@9400lilly When she says "all lifey", pro-life activists generally consider that life begins at conception. That's why he asks the questions about how late she is and whether it has hands.
Thank god when I got pg on accident, my bf and I were on the same page about getting an abortion ASAP. I can't imagine having this fight with him.
and owen get a girl who wants a baby and a family the he always dreamed of... and suddenly he realized he want a girl like cristina who love and passionate on work
still after so many weeks and months it hurts to watch this scene. This scene was sthe start of a neverending nightmare.....the worst is not to know if they really will make it.No other fandom of Greys has ever be punished this way. I hope Rhimes finds eventually some compassion for us.
I know birth control can fail but I am surprised she got pregnant twice
I haven’t even watched the whole series and I’m already hating him
"Cristina Yang, I imagine such a huge life for us"
Does he have hands?! Like wtfff
He wanted kids, she didn’t want kids, this is something that they should have discussed before getting married but neither of them are wrong Who want I want to have a baby by somebody that they love 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
It’s life.
They were probably the most toxic yet lovely couple..
The chemestry>>>>>
they were extremely good at being bad 🗣
Not sure why so many people are mad at Owen here? It's kind of a real situation. Neither of them are wrong here.
He wants a kid and she doesn't. It happens.
@@AnHeC yet she still continued to have unprotected sex with him knowing how complicated things could get if she got pregnant.
My point isn't saying that it's her fault she getting pregnant because Owen could have wrapped it up too.
But but putting the blame entirely Owen when they both clearly were irresponsible is wrong to me
@@datadoesdorian how do you know the protection didnt fail

WOMEN THIS is A WARNING SIGN ALLLLLL THE THINGS HESAID. I warned you lol
The song in the beginning?
I have watched every episode related to this' and every spoiler and read every artical and this is what I came up with:
50% she will keep the baby
30% she will lose this baby like last time.
20% chance she will not keep it.
@FreakyOldMe Thank you, you're very nice.
@deviMCC
not if she didn't change her name, which i really don't think she would do.
It's weird how Christina doesn't want kids but she never thought to have her tubes tied, she just kept getting pregnant 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought that exactly. She should have done that right away, especially after the Burke thing...
Exactly. Laughable. For someone as smart as Yang to have 2 unwanted pregnancy.... It's just humiliating to her medical knowledge.
Ikr like the people that don’t want kids in shows get pregnant but if they do want them they don’t get pregnant
"Cristina Yang...I imagine such a huge life for us" -Owen Hunt....OMG! I'm slowly melting!!! :' ( Him trying to touch her stomach put me over hte edge : (((
I seriously hoped that Owen and Cristina would end up back together and get a kid. I know that everyone says it.s not Cristina, but she changed, and the fact that she has to actually weigh the two paths in her hands, shows, that she has no clue what to do really... I'm dreading her last episode, cause I so want them to be together :(
She ain't gonna keep it! I mean shonda said in an interview "if someone does want a baby I feel they shouldn't" and she said that "without all this baby drama there wouldn't be a show" sooo idk?! I mean I hope they do!!!!
Pleeease is there a goood soul in USA that could tell me what Owen says to Cris after: 'are you getting all lifey w/ me'. What does the man says on those 3 sentences after that????
And by the way what she means w/ 'lifey'? Thanks in advance.
It's gonn'a be so wired if Cristina will ever want kids.. So wired!!
Esse casal sempre foram apaixonados e um dos melhores dessa série, porque não permitiram que ela tivesse esse bebê, porque seria o fruto do amor dos dois
They were both being selfish, owen was hoping Christina wud compromise her career and Christina was hoping owen wud give up his hopes of becoming a dad.both of them have issues ..never shud hv dated to begin with if both were not willing to compromise..duh😒
Is it just me or does anyone think that Cristina (Sandra) should have her own show about her at her new hospital after she left?? Like with Addison and private practice??!!! Makes sense 🧐🧐
@MelanieD22 ya she does nd Owen goes with her to do it!!
so they lose the baby and then he cheats on her. that's fucked up
I don't think people understand how profound and impactful the character of Cristina Yang was. An ambitious, carreer driven woman who was steadfast against having children. It could never be done again.
@lucinders Thank you very much. I couldn´t get this phrase. But now their conversation makes sense to me. :)
Does she abbort the baby in the new season?
sniff....basically missed the whole epi as my live stream link did not work properly.....I know what happened...I'm sad. Saw the last 5 minutes....I died a little on the inside.
i would love a baby from cris & owen
I like how cristina didn't change her decision because of her like meredith and Arizona
I'd love to see Owen without beard. Guess I'd like it.
Not this argument from the guy in the military who killed living and breathing ppl for a living… 🥴 I hated Owen
I agree
Humans don't fail to allow self torture. Owen. Example.
Owen did love her but not as much as Burke
yeah
+Selina Davis Without question.
true
+Selina Davis could you explain why? I just dont get it, in my opinion burke wanted cristina to become a different person.
I don't really agree... Burke wanted her to change, but Owen loved her for who she wasz
@LetYourLiteShine17 They will! dont worrry. shonda rhimes cant afford to upset the fans much more than she did. I want to believe most of the fans were against the abortion. I read some new spoilers today. Owen will have big problems getting over it in this season. He will be very pissed, putting-fist-on-other-people-pissed. Will surely be heartbreaking. No one suffers more beautiful and heartwrenching than my hottie Owen. He is adorable and sweet! No one but me deserves him. LOL!
@peacelovetheworld143 I think she keeps it. because shonda also said the characters should take chances. and christina with a baby...well thats really taking chances. Pretty sure she keeps it, because thats the more interesting storyline. and after all: Shonda is a business woman. Having her fans dissapointed means less viewers and less money. lol. she will have it.and with the interview you mentioned she meant nothing than to respect those women. not that they never ever change their minds.
Fiquei triste com esta cena!!😢por que ela ñ teve o filho????? Se eles se amavam????por quê????
Because she never wanted one
Owen pissed me off here
The scene I said BAIIII OWEN in my head. This is terrible.
lol "does it have hands" am i the only one that thinks that part is funny
@lababe1996
Nope, abortion is 100% legal here.
I get what Cristina means but if it was the other way round and Cristina wanted the child then she would have just had it
Maia Up She’s the one who’s gotta carry it to term, she’s the one who’s gonna be sick and out of commission and in pain for nine months, if she, as the person who was gonna have to do the real work, decided she wanted a kid of course she’d have it whether he liked it or not.
Don’t make it seem like Cristina is not faultless here, they both share the entire burden of blame for their poor choices.
because it’s her god damn body jeez
Judi Gemini sure but at the end of the day Christina has final say because she’s the one who has to carry the baby
not to a bay, toddler but older child I think Cristina would be good with fostering or adopting. Children that are similar to her
