      I have struggled to catch Rockfish this year due to comercial boats have been longed lines and destroyed sporting fishing in hmb and Santa Cruz. You have to go far now for big rockfish.

      You should watch bottom fishing, part 1: set up. Please let me know if you have any questions. November and December are the best two months for big ling cods. They move to shallow water to spawn.

    Look like alittle south of the harbor near the Ritz Carlton.

    • @Fishing247
      @Fishing247  4 роки тому

      Just go out of the harbor about 1/4 miles from 25 to 50ft deep. Sometimes you have to look around for them . Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.

      @@Fishing247 Could you be so kind and explain; "look around."

    • @Fishing247
      @Fishing247  4 роки тому +2

      @@hikiula if you drift for 20 minutes and does not get any bite, you need to move to different spots to drift until you find a spot that you can catch a few fish and go back to drive over that area again. Time some it takes over an hour to find the croakers band some day I can't find them at all. Croakers moves around depends on the water temperature. You can't find them after a second week of November until May next year. I predict that they move to deeper water to get away from cold and unstable water temp in shallow water. I hope I answered your question.

    Hi anh Thuy, is the small engine used for trolling or spare engine? Also, what app do you use to check the swells and the time periods? TIA

    • @Fishing247
      @Fishing247  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for watching. I use the small motor as back up and sometimes for trolling, but not easy to troll with the small motor because you have to seat behind the mother to steer and you also have to control your rod. I use NOAA and Windy to check the weather. Keep in mind that it is safe to go out on the day with periods 10 seconds or more, and wind waves are 1ft or less, wind less than 12 it. If period is very long like 15 seconds, you can ride over big swell. Always check the lattest forcast before go out and sometimes the focast is wrong too. Of you go out and do not feel comfortable, do go. Safety is #1 priority. B good like and be safe fishing.

    I have seen some big Lings come out of that area but I think that may have been the biggest?? I think I may have to send you a fish scale!! Something so you can weigh them as you catch them!! I started making my leaders with stainless steel too. My wife wants to do a road trip up to Bass Pro so I may be able to find some better leader and hooks.
    What a woman, Honey, can we go to Bass Pro???? What a cute question!!!
