Since they blocked off all the water from 20 to 50 fathoms, you just have a small areas of reef and deep in the canyons. Just use Google maps, satiate view to look for reef or fish near the edge of the canyon. Good luck. We only have a few more good days for Rf this year. Hopefully they will open from 20 to 50 fathoms this next year.

Yes. You can launch from Moss and it is a bout 17 miles run to the edge of the canyon. I love Moss landing launching facility. Good luck.

@ , thank you for replying. We plan to go to fish Monterey Bay on Dec. 16th. What was the swell and wind conditions when you guys were out. In this video, the swell didn’t look so bad.

It was 6 ft 12 seconds, but it was 13 kts wind and 3 ft windwaves. 12/16 is ok. 6 ft 10 seconds is doable. Wind is good. Sometimes the weather forecast is wrong too. The swells were ok for us on Saturday, but the windwaves were bad, around 3 ft and we almost turned around. Always turn around when you don't feel comfortable. Always can fish another day. Good luck. We need game wardens to protect our fishery. However, I have experienced game wardens are out there to get you than to educate or work with you. Many times they have tried to trap me with their questions and also flex their power to intimidate and to disrespect you. I feel they only treated me better when I recorded them. There have been a couple times they took my catches out of my coolers and did not put it back and walked away.

I am a social worker and I did ride along with police officers and understand their line of work and there are bad people out there. However, I have been treated unfairly or badly by police officers and game wardens many times before for many reasons I don't want to mention here. I have noticed that Game Wardens have been treating me better when I have my camera on or told them I do the interview or ask questions for my viewers. I am not a whiner and I do not care much about catching fish anymore. I just love to spend good times on water with my friends. Thanks for watching.

There is no size limit for rockfish., except the cabazon, lingcod. Please read the regulations before the trip to make sure they understand the regulations or any changes in season. Good luck and have fun fishing.

Thanks for your comment. In the perfect world, you are right that if you do nothing wrong, you don't have to fear game Wardens or police. However, I used to fear them even I did not do anything wrong. It was the mistrust, the discriminations and how I was treated by game wardens. I have worked hard to build a relationship with game wardens. Some have been very good to me and some are still not. The camemea and my channel have given me confidence to face the fears I have and also let some of the game wardens to do the right ways. Thanks for watching.

There are just a few places in Moss landing have lingcod. Most of them are canaries, green spots, bacoccio, vermilions, and big soles. Time flies. You just blink your eyes and you will have a boat and do what you love. Take care brother. Thanks for watching.

I know. I was surprised too. There is a comment in this video said that they can enter your house without a warrant if you have a fishing or hunting license. That's is crazy.

@@Fishing247 I’ve been pulled over by CDFW on i5 for speeding. They called a CHP officer to the scene. CHP said they wouldn’t issue the ticket because they didn’t witness the infraction. So i kinda dodged a bullet there. I’m not sure if the home entry aspect is entirely true. CDFW used to have a TV show. On two separate episodes I saw they had to wait on a warrant to enter a suspected poachers home. One was in Sacramento for fish being sold on the black market, the other in Nevada city for deer.

I just read and they can't enter our house without a warrant. I don't mind the have the power to catch the poachers. However, I have experienced some game wardens are not nice at all.

@ It’s true, i think we all have to one degree or another. I won’t lie, I’ve had them treat me with absolute respect & watched them immediately treat another fishing nearby to me with complete disrespect. It was appalling to say the least.

Seems like it. I got intimidated by game wardens before and they did not treat me well before. However, I am trying to build a good relationship with them and most of them have treated me better than before. I don't know because of my camera or my channel. i would take down the DFG officers name.. no one should go inside your home with no probable cause.. heck, he shouldn't even be coming over to you .. what was he doing over the house near you in the first place?

We know many areas for rockfish and I usually just go and if I need to look, I just turn on either Google or apps to look for reef area. I don't go out and catch limits like I used to do. I just love to enjoy my times on the water. Good luck and be safe fishing.
