65 consecutive victories in the long jump achieved over a span of 10 years, 4 consecutive olympic gold medals. Lewis also long jumped over 28 feet seventy-one times.
From a jumpers point of view he's not a great jumper, its all speed, he dosent drive his lift-off-knee up, he dosent dip his hips much before take off and he dosent get great arch or height but he's so fast and lean that it dosent matter, if he had had Powell's leap he coud have easily broke 30' I believe.
I will say he was a perfectly disciplined and trained machine-like jumper, but not that he had unique style, he was very common in the air. @@aleksthegreat4130
@@concertom8774 I suppose its possible, it comes down to speed if your already a great athelete, if you put two guys that are in super-fit shape but have minimal skill at leap-height then the fastest guy will go the furthest. But if one of these super-fit guys can generate great height as well then he's really gonna fly. Im sure Carl was leaping great but it looks minimal to me.
@@concertom8774 it also comes down to hip-height and Bolt is tall so in theory if he has ripped abs and can keep his legs horizontal till the last second hes going to go further than any other simply fast guy. Im not sure if they were same height but Beamon was tall as well, and thin, great combo to go far.
Magnificent Lewis. The greatest long jumper in history.

30 years later anybody jumps so far like King Carl Lewis. The best of history of long jump.
notice how far he is from the board on the second jump (8.75)... with a perfect board , that would be the world record here
Carl is the GOAT.
グーグル先生 勉強不足! 山羊 になってる w Greatest Of All Time だ‼️
King Carl!
The 🐐
ルイスは低いと言われるが十分高い。パウエルがルイスより高く跳んだのは8m95を出したときだけだ。
Elegant sprinter, not best jumper but GOAT at track and field if you combine both sides.
“....not best jumper....”?, 4 consecutive Olympic Gold medals in the event should cause you to review that assessment.
On altitude Carl would have gone over 9m
He flies his pluspoint
Why is it no longer available?
Unfortunately the video is only available for computers and laptops, not cellphones or other devices.
ColectivoDMSR thank you, but why did you decide to do it?
Oh, it wasn't my choice but UA-cam's. Just a matter of copyright.

Whatyoudo He was a great jumper even then he lost his speed,he won in Atlanta at 35,his technique was unique,he started as a long jumper
