Watch the BBC first on iPlayer 👉 bbc.in/iPlayer-Home www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00v9bs4 In front of a packed Los Angeles Coliseum Carl Lewis won the 1984 100m final with a sprint of beautiful efficiency. In this race Lewis appeared to defy the laws of sprinting. Especially the one that states that as you reach the line you slow down. Watch Lewis as he reaches the finishing line - he seems to be speeding up.

You're an clown; whether he was on drugs or not Carl was the game changer!
His form nd technique is whts lifted sprinting to glorified heights.
There would be no Usain Bolt or Asafa Powell if there was no Carl Lewis because their technique is only a copy and an advancement of what Carl embodied more then any other sprinter before or after him.
I'm a sprinter and coach nd the only reason I can teach kids into running faster is because of Carl absolute discipline in form nd technique tht I would dare to say he's t Arnold Schwarzenegger of sprinting! Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan to name a few who absolutely perfected their art form in motion. He as a sprinter for me is t only guy I can class in this pedigree.
Believe me whn I say, we of the now nd even later generations can only match their zeal, finesse, dexterity, symmetry, poise, performance, power, Grace, fluidity , tunnel Vision etc.
      Not better it.
We may run faster, more records but only in testament. You have a good day; until you know how Usain Bolt runs a world record then you may have something to say to me or even here.
Otherwise don't denigrate the workload of all tht try to fine tune the human animal to its highest echelon of perfection in mind body nd spirit!
Who cheats but those who accuse others; just mind yours brother, we each take from each other wht we can. Arnold was using steroids in a game known for such practices yet there is only one Arnold! Thts wht we have here. Just appreciate or blog somewhere else.
We are not looking at it from your eyes; thank God, otherwise we'd miss the beauty in the beast..
Of which we all are! Including you...

They don't know what they're taking about. The reason why he wins is simply holds his form. His stride is long. He just maintains his form. Most sprinters panic when someone is near them, causing them to lose form. Carl Lewis sticks to his stride pattern, which is a initself a great discipline.

What are they talking about. ???
Carl Lewis was actually going faster and faster towards the end. It was just that it took him awhile to reach top cruising speed. There's no great science or mystery about it. He was tall for a sprinter over 6ft. A shorter sprinter normally would explode from the blocks and would try to hold on until the end while at the same time Carl Lewis would be reaching a top speed at around 70 metres and maintaining towards the finishing line.
In-fact, it was as if he was running 120. metres.

The law of sprinting says as you reach the finish line you must slow down. Well, Bolt slowed down and ran 9.58s. Could have been below 9.50!

Everyone was on drugs but Ben Johnson, the Canadian, was the one who got sacrificed. Lewis, like Bolt was the golden boy who couldn't be touched. Money corrupts.

In 1982 Carl Lewis Jumped over 9 meters some 30 feet 2 inches without a doubt,It was recorded and Verify by Sports commentators and Fans .The video is on UA-cam.I suspect Racist Track Official who knew the jump was over 9 meters but hated Lewis. And didn't want a legitimate record to Arguably the single greatest sports achievement up there with Bolts be 9.58 .
