When I was younger, my dad was a school janitor and we got to rehearse in the gymnasium. Marshall 50w at full tilt into a vox 4x12 cab. Crybaby and Ibanez DuoFuzz driven by my strat. What a sound. Great for Hendrix, Trower vibes or anything else really. 😎🎸
You want to know loud? I’ve known Philip since we were teenagers in Toronto. The cops would often be called to his bar gigs for his guitar (often played through a super) blasting through the streets of Toronto. Philip is a special guy and player. So many good times and stories I could share about Philip and Jeff Healey etc.❤❤🎸🎸😎
My oldest son Zakk had my 70 super on the back deck cranked to 10😂😂. I was coming home and thought a concert was happening 😂
😂😂😂
Now I have to buy a warehouse?!?
😂🙌
😂
😂😂
😂
No. The title is misleading. This is just a storage bay, not an entire warehouse. And you don't have to buy, you can just rent the thing!
I would love to hear the super reverb and the vibroverb paired together just like Stevie did
Definitely need to do that video, ha ha 🤗
One of the coolest experiences I've had playing guitar was in a big automotive shop. I met a gentleman for a pedal trade and he had me meet him at his employment after hours. He brought an early 70s Vibrolux and some Strats and we proceeded to get carried away taking turns playing on his cranked Vibrolux... My goodness was the tone incredible, best tone, dynamics and coupling with the amp I've ever had.
I recommend every guitarist to try to find an opportunity to crank an amp in a large space, it's absolutely a blast!
Great video, took me right back to that memory of mine!

Great idea about combining the amps you mentioned, would love to see/hear that from you.
Currently I'm using an old 50W Marshall Plexi w/2x12 Cab paired up with an even older Silverface Twin Reverb.
Not a perfect combination, however over the years I've been able to cover just about every tone/style I'm wanting to try.
Warehouses and large empty venues, always a memorable experience when cranking an amplifier.
I played a vintage Super Reverb a few years ago. Since that moment, having one became one of my life goals.
I feel like I'm the only Vox devotee on the earth. LOL! I run TWO AC30's CRANKED constantly at my house because I live on 40 acres and can do what I want. It's GLORIOUS! LOL!
I only have a 2 bed semi on a council estate. My ac30 gets cranked as soon as the neighbour leaves the house though 😂
@@jonathananderson3897 Hahaha! It's the grandest sound in the history of noise.
I can only get away with an AC15 but I too am Vox gang
Beautiful amplifier, perfect in it's simplicity
You need an Amplified Nation amp for that Dumble sound 👍,a super along with a vibroverb would be class though!
Sounds awesome.. huge arena tone and reflections.. even coming through the tiny speakers on my Motorola phone..
Sweet!!! ❤ 🕊 🔥 🎸 ThankYou!!! ❤ 🕊 MuchLove
Man that sounds good
I have a 68 drip edge super, two of the speakers were changed also. I think this was a popular mod bac in the day. Mine is the ab763 circuit. Will be keeping it forever.
It wasn’t as distorted as you thought it would be because it’s unfortunately it’s the later 70’s era! The 64-69 era which still has the AB763 circuit really does make the super sound much different than their later counterparts.. I went through the same experience and was slightly disappointed at first.. then I played a first year 64 super and fell in love all over again
Great video, subscribed! What are the 2 non stock speakers?
Great video
I finally got my first Fender, but it is actually a Diaz. I think that getting different speaker types is important. 2X12s, 4X10s, & cetera, different speaker cones- Ferrite, AlNiCo...
The random microphone can be interesting, if you really want to be STUDIO about it. I just randomly picked up a Western Electric Carbon Cartridge mic, for random purposes. 🧐
I’d love to see some 90s/00s solid state fender amps like the Princeton Chorus and Stage 185 ❤️ I always love to hear how the budget bad boys sound with cool pedals
Awesome stuff, thanks a lot for the recommendation🚀
I have a red knob Princeton chorus, great amplifier!
Im sure it sounded great in person. Kinda hard with the lack of sound deadening and such. Tks for the demo!
amplified nation or cougar! although sacrilegious it would be super cool to see some digital stuff too!! Helix/HX stomp particularly.
I have to be the only one in the world requesting this- Please get a VHT Classic 18. It's a Chinese knockoff of a dark A-30 w/ a Celestion Greenback, but it's so touch sensitive! Underrated and cheap. I dare you, Chris!
Looks like a good time 🤘🏻
❤️🚀🙌
I would love to see you bring an original Vox into that warehouse and turn it all the way up. Maybe compare a vintage one to a DC-30? Just ideas
Chris, what year is that Super?
I feel so lucky to have picked up a ‘67 Blackface Super Reverb for a steal last year! You’re right that they are definitely what gave Stevie that biting top end for sure!
I combine my ‘67 Super Reverb with my bang-on clone of Dumble Steel String Singer #002 (Mayer’s famous silver faced Dumble) into two 2x12 cabs stacked on top of each other. Amazing amp on its own but when I added the Super next to it, it was 100% THE SOUND I’ve been chasing for the past 20 years!
Isn’t it crazy how much the sound of amps change inside of a huge space like that? Anyway love your videos and keep up the great work! Cheers mate!
Ceriatone SSS, Marshall JMP50 and maybe a HoneyBee Amp. Now to the super reverb: I was actually surprised as well because I expected way more overdrive on 10. I've actually heard other supers on 10 and it was a way more dirty tone than that. But for my taste it's enough. I rarely exceed the edge of breakup anyways. Cool vid mate!
Any second now jimi is gonna come in "....wellll I'm a voodoo Chile.... Lord I'm a voodoo Chile."
Hello from knoxville Tennessee!! Super in my personal opinion is the best amp ..iv had them all ,twin, deluxe, bassman, vibro exct ..there just special ..you think of texas blues aka SRV you think of a super!! Congrats on your pedal company..i have your Texan Twang ..🎉
I think you guys will appreciate your studio when you condition the walls to tame the reflections coming back at you.
I have two supers a 74 and a 69. The 74 has cts like your amp and they have chewey mids, they are awesome on that hendrix tone and i like how they fall apart with fuzz. The 69 has ceramic wharheouse g10c and its more srv, more hi fi? Thogheter its ...pure tone!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Does the pitch of the roof affect tone? Should i buy a steel or concrete framed warehouse to get the SRV tone??
How do you do the thing he did with the wammy bar and hitting the string behind the nut
Voodoo Child was a Fender amp in the studio
Do you know what tubes are in it, and is it Jansen speakers in there?
Natural hall reverb. I mean a Marshall Stack in there would sound insane too. I think you should try a Super Six in there. Add a Marshall style amp, something that can do the Plexi to 800 sort of thing.
marshall laney vox mesa fender - and can i add a special request for the smaller amps tiny terror (my all-time favourite) ac15 fenders. no-one can afford a dumble so what's the point?
Is an amp the next big project🤠♥ would be cool♥
3:01 how did you do that?
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day Chris also today is my friends birthday ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊 in Canada
Have you ever used a Marshall Club and Country (SRV’s original clean tone amp)?
They are fantastic
Please try a blackface bassman it's the best of both fender and Marshall
Agreed your fender sounds like a Marshall super lead.. amps for your studio 🤔hmm Marshall DSL , mesa rectifier, you have fender tones coveted really well, a 22 Watt deluxe reverb records well, a dumble would make a killer, blusey fusion type amp especially for lead tones. But likely fairly pricey. A Roland JC 120 records nice for clean and atmospheric tones especially with time based processing. And maybe some di amp modeling or software based guitar plug ins and layering track's etc..
Cougar amps, homestead amps, Carr rambler, two rock, black volt amps
If you want some extreme fun, try a plexi full stack, oh prepare to have your mind blow and do not stand in front of it! And bring a Les Paul as well 😎
ac15, bassman, plexi, tweed deluxe, roland jazz chorus, mesa, soldano, evh 5150
Great recommendations, thanks a lot!
Orange matamp!
Mate stop living in the past. Stevie and Jimi are the GOATS, but with the channel and following you have, be the next step. Carve a path, don't just go over old ground. All the best with peace and love :)
Pay homage to your forefathers. You are standing on the shoulders of giants.
How about a Fender Bandmaster or Bassman
Get a tone king amp!! Imperial mk2
Get both marshall and dumble style amps!
Great shout, thanks a lot! 🚀🎸
Do you want really loud ? Think SVT into 2 of the 8x10 bottoms , wide open dimed, with or without a preamp. That will do it.
Sounds not far from a plexi, and Jimi used Fender amps in the studio.
Ceriatone!
Be careful, I've done this only to have the police turn up. They thought some kids broke in 😂
Super lead
Tweed Tremolux or Bandmaster Big Box
Thank you very much for those suggestions 🎛️🚀
Get a 4x10 plexi, a tweed Bassman, fender concert,
Great recommendations, thanks a lot
You should have brought an SPL meter. I bet that was in the 100s
That’s a great idea, ha ha 🚀
@@PedalPawn it’s always fun to say “my super reverb turned up to 10 is the same spl as a jet engine” 😂
@@danthegeetarman EVMs might be able to pull out those SPLs, they are more efficient than most speakers and generally increase the maximum volume that you can generate.
Next vid - super six vs empty warehouse 😂
Laney klipp or supergroup
PRS AMP
Super Large Amp !!! Lol 🕊 🕊 😆 🤣 😂
I’d be getting the security of that big arse shed looked at first before leaving a Dumble there
👍🇦🇺
Jusss sayin’ baby
SOLDANO
🫡❤
NEVER PUT❤AN AMPLIFIER ON ANY CONCRETE FLOOR!!!! Always put it on a piece of wood,,, marine plywood at 3/4 inch and larger than the amp footprint
just curious why ?
Crank a plexi instead of a Fender
Now try it with a blackface Super Reverb!!
