Milky Way Timelapse at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

  • Fortunate to get a clear night at Hawai‘i Island (Big Island) at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park Uēkahuna overlook near the old Jagger museum overlooking Halema‘uma‘u crater. If you look closely you can see steam rising from the crater in several spots. I started the timelapse at 8:14 PM and stopped it at 12:02AM for a total of 1245 photos. Winds were gusting and it was about 57 degrees Fahrenheit (not counting wind chill) when I stopped it - pretty cold for a Hawai‘i boy.
    The 2 stills at the end of the video are from Kīlauea Military Camp right outside the apartment we stayed at.
    I admit I'm still learning, and ran into difficulties with processing and color grading the raw photos.

    Shutter 10 seconds
    Aperture: 1.8
    ISO 1600
    Interval 11 seconds
    Equipment:
    Sony A7IV
    Sony 14mm F1.8 GM lens
