- Going to have a little fun with this one. Doing a widebody conversion using the Iceman Collections kit with the Revell 1971 Mach1 Mustang kit. Now we are mocking up the Predator motor and seeing were it hits the body. It may be too tall to fit under the hood.
Iceman Collections: Here is the link to the kit I bought. This project is not sponsored by Iceman, I am doing this for my own enjoyment. icemancollecti.... And the engine: icemancollecti...

The body kit is looking good! I have mine all puttied in and primed. Looks cool! I'm interested in seeing you got the engine. 😎👍
Very cool!
This will be a cool build. I am not a huge fan of this car, but what you are doing is intriguing me to pick it up and try something different like you are doing. Well done!
Cool, thanks! These can be challenging but still fun. Usually I have a clear plan in place before I build. This one not so much but we will see what happens.
Awesome looking build. That body kit really transforms this Mustang and that motor is going to be killer under the hood!
Thanks. I think so.
I'm building one very similar, but I'm using Icemans supercharged coyote engine. So I'm super invested in this series. Also, I'm with you. The rear diffuser just isn't my thing. Thanks for all the content
Thanks. What are you putting his motor in?
Well sir,it’s a nice mock-up so far, can’t wait for the next video,it’s gonna hurt me about the hood,I do love those, but your absolutely right, with that wide body,it would look the part with that motor, good luck my friend
Thanks. Hopping to keep the hood intact.
Nice work getting everything to properly fit. You will get things to work. Thanks for sharing.
I think so!
May need to take some artistic liberties with that oil pan and make it a dry sump setup. Then you can have a much flatter oil pan and bring that engine down several scale inches. Looking really cool!
That will probably happen.
Tjat wide body looks incredible. What a sweet engine. Comin out great!
Thanks 👍
That engine is quite the project. But like you said for that kind of car that's what gotta go in.
Yes it is!
Love this project. Looks like you need a new hood. I'll be watching
Thanks. We will see.
I got that same engine and put it in the AMT 65 Ford Galaxie 500 and it fit perfect. Awesome engine! I might have to get that wide body kit, looks great on your Mustang!
Very cool! Sounds like a good project!
Have a great build.
Thanks!
Looking real good! I got the kit myself, thought I go with the Edelbrock Supercharged Coyote seams not as tall as the Predator engine. Can't wait to see your progress.
Thanks!
Great progress
Thank you!
That engine is awesome!!
It is!
looking good the bigger motor I think is a must just getting it to sit right but like were this is going looking forward to the next update
Thanks!
Nice
Thanks!
thanks for the great video
Glad you enjoyed it
um yeah was watching Mark Batsons channel on the Petty Garage vid exact same motor pully setup hope that helps😁🤩😎ps stang looks killer scooter d😋
I’ll check it out. Thanks!
👍
Thanks
I really appreciate you explaining your thoughts on something like the motor. I have just rounded up a 67 and 68 Cougar. I know that's offbeat from this but is it a 351 used in that year? I'm really throwing by the injection system too? Would you ever use that?? Thank you very much
Thanks. The 351 engines didn't start appearing until 1969 so no on the 67-68 cars, they were 289/302 only. The 1969 351W was the Windsor design and looked like a 289/302 but while similar design it looks the same but not much interchanges with the 289/302. But would pass in scale. In 1970 the 351C (Cleveland) engine came out and was a whole new design but based off the heads used on the Boss 302. Then in 71 the Boss 351 came out and was a much more upgraded 351C. It gets a little confusing plus all of them have the same bore and stroke as the earlier 352 FE engines that started in 1958 Thunderbird Special. 4.0 bore and 3.5 stroke at 351.9 cubic inches. So, Ford decided to label them 351's instead of 352's so they wouldn't get confused with the older motor as the 352 FE was still available in trucks, 1967 being the last year.
I have a couple of resin engines like that...in order to mock it up, did you glue it (mostly) together permanently or did you use some sort of glue that would let you take it apart? and if so, what did you use? because I'm thinking I need it together for mockup but I may want to paint it separately, thanks for any tips!
I just used the white glue for temporary bond. It should pull apart easily but will also let go in water. I will use super glue for the permanent bond.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler white glue, duh, I feel so stupid, thanks for that! :) BTW, love your builds, and the background info you give on the real cars!
Thanks!
Just watched this now for the first time. I'm not 100% but perhaps the fitment of the engine was off because the kit you used is 1/25 and the iceman coyote is 1/24. Is this possible??
It would definitely be a factor. I take the scale on the box as a guide and not absolute. Sometimes I wish it was truly accurate. I did get it to fit though!
I have that motor as well- compared to the revell boss 302 roadrunner motor it seems it’s 1/24 not 1/25
Maybe.
What are you going to use for the belts?
It has some belt material in his kit. Just have not applied it at this point.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler any recommendations? I have a few 3d printed motors and not sure what I can use to get a clean tight belt on there.
This is a first for me also.
Have you thought about braces rubber bands, they come in a lot of colors
@@spyderfreestone736 I've thought about using rubber bands but not the ones for braces, concerned about the tension they would put on the pulleys. However I will give it a try because in the modeling world anything is possible! Thanks!
