    Bought the Midea, wouldnt stay running on the first day and took it back. I have 2 of the Midea U shape window units and have been very happy with them.

    Cooling itself using cooler air it made IS going to be more efficient than using an outside warm air. So you are wrong. The reason why dual hose might be more efficient is because it doesn't create negative atmosphere which brings in warm air from outside. So both has pros and cons. Now the question is which is going to be more efficient, there is differences in opinion. Generally dual hose in my opinion is more efficient, if you can insulate the hose but I don't have any evidence on it. So don't say something if you don't know the science bbehind it.

    Hey what is ur 2024 favorite portable AC? I have a pretty small bedroom but I want the best option!
    I have a pretty small bed and like when the ac can hit my face while I sleep. The Midea 10k I have doesn’t angle down far enough unfortunately

    Dual hose is the way. Not sure why they even sell single hose - seems like a terrible design.

      I agree, not even sure why Single Hose units exists. But I do notice Single Hose units do end up selling for a LOWER price, so sometimes it MIGHT be a deal to get a single hose only if you can get it for VERY cheap price.

      single hose unit's should come with insulated hoses! wrapping the hose in Reflectix foil type wrap really improves them! A lot of people leave bad reviews for single hoses because of all the heat coming off of the hose which makes the single hose ac very inefficient, insulating it resolves most of that.

    Life hack: if you can't afford a dual hose new, look on local selling ads, people get rid of theirs for cheap in winter, you can find whynter barely used for around $100, good luck!!!

    Single hose need to die off. People need to stop buying them so the price of dual hose can go down.

    what about draining though, such a pain

    • @UTECHPIA
      @UTECHPIA  10 місяців тому +1

      For me, I NEVER had to drain any of them for AC. ONLY for the model with HEAT and I use the HEAT mode, then I have to drain it. I just drain it to a bucket, but it produces like a gallon of water a day! It is A LOT!
      HOWEVER, if you live in a area of HIGH humidity, you MAY need to drain for AC mode too. I live in California, and did NOT have to drain at all for AC mode.

      @@UTECHPIA I have to drain my units every day but I have continuous drainage into a container I have to empty every morning.
