The fact that the little green boy is actually the father makes the whole scene where he's hiding under the twins bed - with used cigarette butts and eyeballing yellow guy all the more disturbing.
@@Ivyinterrupted I know, I was confused by that line too because I had missed 'dad' referring to yellow guy as 'dear' when pushing him to make the call for the family meal (I blame being too distracted by the loud chanting and being concern for poor yellow guy's well being to notice).
also don't forget the Twins literally ate that day's teacher, and very specifically came from outside and _walked_ into the house, unlike all other teachers who were household items that came to life, or appeared from nowhere, from the get go the fact that the twins were not meant to be teachers was clear
It was like a Crossover episode, Like they where forced onto another set entirely. Maybe explains why Roy got involved and destroyed the other show hijacking his thing.
@@Alex_Kiddo If I remember correctly it was a sour green apple. I think they are called a Granny Smith apples, which would fit someone talking about family.
I mean the teacher of DHMIS2 tv series didn’t come from the house (and possibly also the one from DHMIS1 tv series but I could be wrong) and the teacher from DHMIS3 YT series also didn’t come from the house however the characters were outside anyways. I think the real thing that makes this true is that this is the only instance where a supposed teacher gets intentionally killed and replaced. In the epsiode about computers it looks like the episode will be about geography at first however Colin the computer doesn’t downright kill the atlas
Actually i think Roy coming in at the end and you notice how he is staring at the Bucket of Chicken specifically is because that family was advertising something that wasn’t Roys. Roys Oats, Roys Flakes, but Grolton’s Chicken? Who is Grolton? Essentially i interpreted his attacking the family as “this is mine and i will destroy anything that interferes”
@@LeGoodMusica23 that's true, it's ok to make fun of that. I guess the filmmakers realized it wouldn't be good to have that as "creepy" so the dolls were good on their own
It really gets scary when you're a child in a horrible family situation. I could only finish this episode maybe once before it started to get too deep for me lmao. Becky and Joe really know how to pull at the heart strings, scary or not.
If you freeze frame when the pictures fall out of the wallet, there’s two things: a lady who looks an awful lot like Lesley, but without scars. And a boy playing a trumpet. Yellow guy played a trumpet in the second episode randomly. Also, the name of the chicken company is the same as the claymation tv program that plays throughout the series Grolton and Hovris. In the family episode; a groltons chicken commercial plays immediately after grolton and Hovris, just like an ad. The Chuddy dollops also appear to be a branded and deliberately placed product. The twins are featured prominently on the package, suggesting a connection to the company that makes them. I’d also note the chuddy dollop bag is one of three items in the attic of the house in the last episode, suggesting it has a much higher importance than people have given it. Also, you hinted at an incest theme. I think that’s important. When they are playing the board game, there is a moment where the camera focuses on a game piece called “Cousins Cabin”. That seems to be a weird and specific reference. Also, the twins admit to having some family secret they can’t share with everyone. The uncle was very specifically highlighted in the family tree room, which I think advances this theory that maybe the twins were molested. Roy himself, as a character, looks like the product of incest. And his appearance in this episode I think is part of whatever story they are trying to tell about this family. The little green puppet also being the father was a super bizarre twist. So the tall guy was actually a brother (the twins specifically greet them brother/father). So shit ain’t right with this family. The whole thing reeks of an incest overtone. The family tree I think also suggests maybe some family members found out what was happening and started getting killed off. Yellow guy makes the bizarre statement at the end of the episode that family is people dying in different places in the same way. I think his comment is referencing all the apparently murdered family members on the tree. I have an overarching theory that this whole series is about the story of this family getting involved with a child’s production company, something with incest, and then a bunch of family murders followed by a coverup. I believe the book was an admission of murdering the family. Lesley knew in the last episode that yellow guy would return downstairs and duck would take his batteries and then they would shred the evidence. When you start to piece elements together, you start to wonder if duck was somehow connected as either a business owner of one of the brands or like an accountant/lawyer to the family in this episode. He talks in one episode about forging documents causing the death of people. Idk. Lot to unpack with this series.
A theory from matpat that i found interesting like this one was the yellow guy is the son of Leslie and explain why she yelled you aren’t my son to him and that yellow guy would be dead from his own mom which his death could explain why he got hit by the car and Leslie is yelling
Also in one scene the boy peed his pants and in one of the animations when it talks about bunk beds the twins both can be seen peeing themselves, that's a sign of molestation. So I def think that's a reasonable theory.
To be honest I found the fifth episode more disturbing and unsettling. The way the GPS begs our trio to go back, the way that Choo-Choo dies of alco- OIL withdrawal, and that ending shot where they sit in the dark with the red guy clearly going mental. It made me feel uneasy
I kinda feel like them being able to open the dollops at the end is symbolic of them accepting each other as family, as lily and toddney say that they couldn’t open a family pack without being a family
I keep seeing people talking about how Roy came to save his son, but I thought that it was made obvious that he was only being there for the chicken, and his son was just there by coincidence.
@@callinater6133 I saw someone's theory saying Yellow guy called two numbers first he called someone and started screaming help then we saw Roy in the window then he called in the chicken and Roy came in when he pushed Yellow guy away I honestly thought he was like saying "Hey leave its going to get ugly" Cause sure Roy may not be a good dad but at least he came to help right?
@@-ZeroTea- I didn’t think so much he called Roy, but I did think that he sorta went there to destroy the people abusing his son, as only he and those he approves of can torment yellow guy
One theme i like to point out in this episode is also how they're made to believe that some families aren't real families. That families have to follow a certain pattern- having 1 mom and 1 dad and some kids
following film theory latest episode, i think he always watches and never does anything because, when he saw yellow guy get hit by the car, he was just in the window and didnt do anything.
I like to think that red guys “we live in an actual nightmare” is a bit serious and this is all Leslie’s coma that happens after DHMIS UA-cam, she gets to be with her distorted version of reality, and the fact we never see her on UA-cam meaning she was an absent factor in Roy’s life and didn’t know him well enough to give him a personality. She would obviously know how to bring the others to life because the 3 guys would all be famous from Roy’s tv show.
Also going with this video as well as the theory, Leslie probably also thinks of him as a monster for being abusive, finally peaking with David's death, which is probably why he's one of the creepier people in this series.
If film theory’s episode is true then my shaky theory is that Roy, like Leslie, doesn’t see yellow guy as his son. He might feel some hatred towards yellow guy for taking the place of his real dead son (much like how yellow guy felt when duck died) or he’s like Leslie who distances herself from yellow guy because she doesn’t want to feel the same pain of losing a child again.
My first thought upon seeing Roy at the end was that Lilly and Tommy were not supposed to be there. They're intruders. The other Teachers had Roy's go ahead to do anything they wanted with Yellow and the others. The Family didn't have that. As such, they had to die.
Exactly... like the twins making them leave the house then living who knows where but it's not in the house or near it so roy does this to make everything go back in line & make sure yellow guy goes home & restart it all over again so basically roy is keeping everything the same imo & makes sure everyone stays in line!!
Hot take- I’m not quite sure why so many people dislike Friendship? It’s the episode I’ve rewatched the most, so far. I couldn’t really explain it, but I find it fun and captivating, and the animation of Yellow Guy’s inner world is just the right amount amount of mind-numbing, in my opinion.
I get where you're coming from, as someone who's least favorite episode is Friendship, I have to admit it probably has some of my favorite moments. But I think the main reason people dislike it, is cuz of Warren, for the first part of the episode, you get the bit that he's supposed to be the annoying friend, but they keep shoving it in your face the whole episode and it's like, "we get it", but that's just my take, I cant speak for everyone obviously
to me warren seemed more like an abusive friend. when warren is in yellow guys inner world and everyone leaves he says ´you don´t need to have loads of friends. what you really need is one good friend´ even tho he was the one who drove everyone away and is now implying that warren is the only one yellow guy needs. also a bit later he says ´i´m sure you´ve got room for a restaurant style meal for your *best friend* also he orders the food for 2 best friends the word keeps repeating in yellow guys head eventually getting him to leave to an inner-inner world. in there warren breaks in and asks ´you´re not trying to get rid of me are you? we`re best friends´ after that yellow guy tries to run away from him and he sees warren as a big, scary, manipulative monster until red guy and duck finally get the worm out of his brain. also warren calls him best friend even tho they barely know each other. when he is going to order the meal he says ` we can get to know each other better` but warren calling yellow guy his best friend so soon makes yellow guy feel guilty about not wanting to be friends with him. earlier in the episode we learn warren has been bullied, so now he is this creepy manipulative dude who doesn`t want to be alone again and instead of trying to genuinely make friends he just manipulates yellow guy into heing his friend. he is an abusive friend. a worm in yellow guys brain.
@@skeletonhaha i think warren is a symbolism for depression. he intrudes randomly, like how depression can just.. pop up. him going into yellow guy’s brain is obviously just developing depression, and him causing all the brain friends to leave basically being how depression sucks out all other emotions. this could be a huge reach, but whatever
I love the episode BECAUSE of Warren. Actually, I love the episode because I HATE Warren. I feel like having a character that we'd hate as a teacher doesn't make it actually bad? I like watching it because they all roast Warren and it's hilarious. I feel this episode is very underrated. And some of its moments are the best. Also when they are online and try to choose between an apple and a pig- why is no one talking how cool was those parts where they were online? I hate Warren, and that's why I love the episode. He's a really abusive friend because of his past, and I love how he tries to make that a justification of how he treats everyone and tries to make himself the important one, but everybody just keeps inot paying attention to that because they KNOW that's not a reason to get into somebody else's friendship, and it looks like he can't understand why. I don't really feel pity for him, he got what he deserves. He thinks that having bad friends is a reason te be a bad one (though he doesn't realize he's a bad friend) instead of just being a good friend but in another group of friends who haven't done anything to him. I find him a good teacher because he's the one that says something that may be right, but he isn't actually doing it, like being a good friend. The guys learn something from him BECAUSE they realize that what he's doing is wrong, and I love it.
It’s because Roy Roy’s all over the family which was foreshadowed if you look outside the window you can faintly hear him say “ITS ROY’IN TIME” as he goes super royan
To me, I think the family episode feels so different, because whereas the others have their more comedic tone at times, the family episode feels very much like the tense atmosphere of being in an abusive household. The family’s dynamics are all over the place, and everything is wrong (ie the “tea” being so off) but still having to keep up the right appearances for outsiders of the household. To me, that’s why there’s such a focus on why family’s so important, because if it weren’t, then why would bad things be happening in the family (such as the mom being gone, and presumably dead) ? Also the dad being under the kids’ bed and watching the yellow guy sleep has its own horrible implications. I also think that the kids watching the home movies are them trying to relive the “better days”, maybe of when things weren’t so bad. Especially the whole moment where Todney gets upset and yells that he loves his family and they love him, followed by him peeing himself, I think that could be him getting upset that his worldview could potentially be wrong. The environment of the household isn’t love, but because Lily and Todney are so young, they don’t know how to grapple with the fact that it’s possible that their family Doesn’t actually love them, because there is no love in that family, only business transactions, essentially, where other family members have to serve a purpose or give them something to have any worth. The episode centers around them being the teachers, because they’re the young kids who don’t have quite the right idea of what’s going on, but still want to believe that their family is just fine and normal, so they project their idea of what family is onto others, even though it’s unclear, and toxic. If either of them were presented with being questioned, I think a reaction from Todney like before would happen. “Why is there no choice in whether or not we play along with family game time?” “Because that’s the way it is.” See? It’s a similar way the other teachers approach things, but this time, there is a real life parallel. A talking clock can’t walk up to you and explain time poorly, but someone in an abusive household could mention something that happens in their house, and you would question it, but they wouldn’t have an answer as to why that is the way it is.
I feel like all this creepy family being strange and upsetting symbolizing the event after lelsly killed her own son, like the whole family has been fallen apart
My theory is that roy was actually driving the car that hit David/Yellow Guy, hence Lesley's screaming, which makes much more sense if someone else was driving. Roy is abusive to yellow guy because david died as a result of his negligence. Regardless how good or bad of a dad he may have been, all Lesley can remember is that his negligence killed their son.
Family was such a great episode for me, perfectly juxtaposing the dark and disturbing side of the series with its newer comedic approach. The family house is modelled exactly like a dingy lower class British household that I could swear I've visited multiple different instances of in my lifetime, the kidnapping and forced indoctrination of Yellow was super freaky but quickly devolved into me losing my breath from laughter when I realised all of the elaborate and manipulative schemes of the twins was solely to make sure their family was eligible for a family discount from a restaurant they wanted to order dinner from. Roy's appearance was also absolutely hilarious, him yelling "YUM YUM YUM" repeatedly as he attacks the family makes it seem that his only motive for saving Yellow was that he was hungry and wanted to steal the family's dinner, which was both incredibly funny but also really sad since it clearly shows Roy's abuse not as an actively malicious one but instead in the form of neglect as he doesn't care at all for his son's presence and only intervened to help him when it meant he could also gain something from it. Roy isn't any different from the twins and their family as he only seems to see the material values in having a son as well.
Someone pointed out that yellow guy actually called his dad first before ordering the chicken, because he first started yelling help into the phone and then dialed the actual phone number for OFC
1. Creativity/Job 2. Time/Death 3. Love/Family 4. Computers/Bullying 5. Food/Transport 6. Dreams/Electricity Foods in episode 5: -raisins -fossil fuel -space alcohol Colin (the computer) is a significant character in episode 4 Both 6’s get meta, with Lesley replacing Roy in the tv show I vaguely recall the word “family” appearing in dhmis 3, perhaps misspelled
This one felt like a tie in with DHMIS 3, where Yellow guy was being ‘taught’ religion by the butterfly. He was taught the same way about families that there should be a mom and a dad (your special one) and that line of thinking is expanded here with adding kids to the family. In both as well you have grolton’s chicken and the chicken picnic.
5:24 This was a really small detail but while they are making yellow guy call for the family meal, the twins call the this one the father, while the tall one is actually the baby brother.
Going off of the Roy cameo, I actually had a thought that he was angered at how they were treating the yellow guy and when he made yellow guy leave, he didn't want the yellow guy to be more scarred by what was going to happen, kind of like a protective parent scenario, where a parent doesn't want their kid to witness something that might leave them with a mental scar so they make sure the kid isn't there before going ham.
If Roy *is* a producer then him coming in to kill the family could be revenge for taking his show off script by killing the apple at the start and then pulling the guys out of their house. The only other front and center appearance he has being during the car scene in transport (Another attempt to leave the house)
It's also good to mention that the twins try to use "being family" as an almost excuse to get away with stuff. The trio are somewhat forced to like the twins, the trio HAVE to follow their orders and if they don't forgive the twins for being wrong no matter what, they get kicked out. One of the main reasons why abuse from family members is so hard to deal with because of forced fake positivity, there's so many people who are made to put up with family members who treat them like walking garbage solely for the fact that "they're family."
It honestly felt like more of a crossover episode. One forced by the other show. They where moved to an entirely different set and and Roy obviously didn't like it.
I like how Roy seems to be a bit better in the TV series, he's still...him, but as shown in the end of the episode he was partially protecting Yellow Guy even if for selfish purposes, its like when you have an overly strict dad but you still have his protection against other bad people.
I like that all the episodes are expanded ones from the original videos. 1 - The song and shows death and sadness. In the episode they expand on death and losing things you love and forced to accept new things 2 - The second song is about time. The episode is about losing time by working your life away. 3 - The song is about love and being accepted into a family (ends up being a cult). The episode is about family and peoples versions, that only the accepted one is mum, dad and kids. 4 - The song is about the internet and being sucked into it. The episode is about them wanting to get on the internet and depression and being in your own head 5 - The song is about food. The episode is about travelling. The thing in common with these 2 is they are becoming aware of their surroundings, mostly Red guy at this point and wanting to escape. 6 - The song is Yellow guy just, being tortured at this point. The episode is Yellow Guy being singled out and becoming more aware and going to end the misery but it gets wrecked. Obviously the last 2 aren't as close as the others, but the themes are there. It's cool.
Won't lie, much as I'm sure there are more complex reasons, I like to think Roy was just too excited/determined to rip the family apart to be nice; not that he didn't care at all, he's responsible for his kid and wanted to get him out of there, but he was Hyped. "Go outside. Daddy's working." Yellow acts confused, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's seen Roy like this before, and just didn't want to question it too much. Having a vicious, violent monster as a father can have the rare perk.
I thought this was great and thorough analysis of the episode and I would love to see you explain your thoughts on the other ones and even the UA-cam episodes(even if they're older)
9:01 When actually spelling the word "family," the list makes sense. "Friends" and "Advice" are pretty valid aspects of a good family. But when they go off the rails and start describing arbitrary material things, the spelling no longer works. Thoughtful detail!
I love that both of the twins have a lazy eye on different sides, so a lot of shots have them looking forward and at each other. It's just a neat detail
When the woman tells YG “you’re not my *real* son” it makes me wonder if him getting hit by the car was some kind of backstory. Maybe the woman was his mother, and after he was run over, tried to re live time with her son only to become exhausted with keeping it up which is why his batteries are degraded. We see multiple references that YG has become awake and gone upstairs before so maybe she wants to let him move on but instead gets back into the loop of caring for something she made to replace her son. Would explain how many times family dynamics get brought up
My theory: Lily and Todney weren't supposed to appear, because the 'point' of the episodes were to always be in the house (this is shown in episodes 5 and a little bit in 6). Lesley always wants and keeps everything happening inside the house. She then sends Roy to kill the family and take Yellow Guy back again. I don't think she would replace him like she did with Duck guy, because she in episode 6 clearly says that Yellow Guy is her favorite.
I have always been incredibly afraid of dolls and ESPECIALLY _those_ kind of dolls. Old... unsettling...dolls.. with weird hair and eyes. But when I saw this episode I was just like: "bring it on! I've already had nightmares of dolls trying to kill me. I know what's up" And for some reason it cured my fear? Sorta? Now this is my favorite episode because the obvious family song (it slaps like omg) but also because I took fond of the dolls. I expected the worst and got.... something... but it was amazing! I loved it sm (edit) looking back what I think i meant to say was that this episode confirmed everything I was afraid of? It confirmed that dolls were evil and weird. Yeah thats all
14:09 they also learnt from theirselfs the true meaning of family, like Yellow guy said: a family is Actually a group of people(relatives or other people) that cares for each other not a group made of only flesh and blood
I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this but the idea of the dad looking like the grieving characters could be because they obviously lost their mother, or his wife. You can tell this because they were trying to get yellow guy to replace her and become the new mother. This could mean that the dad is visibly depressed and grieving his wife, which is why his kids would be desperately trying to help him. It could also explain why the twins look nothing like their family… possibly they are also brainwashed replacements for the dads missing or dead family.
ok this is wayyyyyy off topic but When duck is looking at the "family photos" of him, yellow guy, and red guy, which aren't even pictures of them, the bottom right one looks frighteningly similar to Lesley.
This episode feels like a critique of the propaganda of the Nuclear Family. How it was used in corporate marketing and pushed out less “traditional” families
Roy is the kind of dad that has no love for his son whatsoever, but still will protect him at all costs. In DHMIS 6, he appears because he sees yellow guy freaking out in his bedroom because of red guy messing with the controls of the machine. He comes in to stop red guy and gesturing him to. Come back, but red guy instead pulls the plug which seems to reset the entire DHMIS universe and plot. And in this episode about family, he's showing lily and todney's family that he is yellow guy's family, and they aren't. Its like hes saying "i didnt hire you bastards," Before presumably slaughtering and eating them in the most phsycolathic-cannibalistic way to teach them a lesson. He's always seen in the background of episodes, but only really appears as a real up close character when his son is in trouble or upset.
Tbh, i almost agree with you on the way you think about each episode of the DHMIS Tv show, although Episode 6 of this series is still of my favorites (I hate episode 3 because is way too disturbing for me, but it stil awesome anyway, and the disturbing factor is obviously the best part of this episode) Edit: Also, i've seen many people not taking this show as... seriously as they should. I mean... not all people like talking about dark themes (and the fandom itself has a bunch of sensitive people, which baffles me), but... this is a horror series, if you're only going to talk about the humor aspect... what's the point of the series being horror-comedy? I think this is why i don't like the pilot too much, it is a boring snore fest with only snit pits of comedy and dark tones, while being more lighthearted and not as claustrophobic as it used to be, unlike the TV Show. I think DHMIS has a lot of comedic moments, but... when i want to talk about this show... i rather want to talk about how creepy and unsettling it is... hmmm
@@uuhhhahahahahajahahha It's not that funny, it can be funny but it's comedy peaked in episode 1, 2 and 6. I don't think you cannot find the funny side of the story the thing you like about the series, but when you consider the gory, weird moments of the series comedy, is where i think... really? I mean, humour is subjective, but i don't think those moments are supposed to be comedic
@@uuhhhahahahahajahahha Huh... really? I mean, maybe the yt series has some gory comedy in there... but Episode's 2 ending and episode 5's whole existence is the gore that i just can't find anything comedic in. And i just don't find it comedic qwq, i don't know if it's really british humor or not, but i just don't find the humor the only aspect i would talk about the series. The series isn't just for jokes imo, it is a lot more deep than that
@@oliverafton1444 i mean dark, scatological humor, not a new thing. and i do think the show is deeper too, but more in the satirical / metaphoric sense. sometimes i think they just make us believe there's an actual lore to then tell us a big "f you!" like in the series finale
The fact that in the hallway the one uncle they point out as dead, does not have an x over his eyes, somehow makes all the other pictures with xs more ominous, as it does not mean they are sple dead...
Or maybe because he was the only one who either died of natural consequences, went "missing", or that he cut them off. Red Guy liked the "uncle" place which was described as more distant family.. that isn't missed when they leave. It's sort of what happened to him with his own family (they were okay with seeing him but annoyed at him when he was a bother and didn't care that he left; he ended up cutting ties). One could thus argue that there is a parallel with the uncle (tried to fit in, couldn't, disappeared/cut ties and is dead to them). Of course, the kids being kids did like the uncle but the father and mother might not have hence the "he's dead" explanation: it could have just been a lie so they'd be less sad and wouldn't doubt their view of family. Family doesn't abandon each other after all, right? They have to live like this because that's how family is and family is for life! (Basically I mean that the abusive dynamics are at play)
Thank you so much! Glad to hear you enjoyed and think this deserves more exposure! The best way to help increase the potential views and fanbase of the video and channel is to share both this video and channel around with others.
i actually think that when roy pushes yellow guy out the way that he’s telling him to leave so he can kill them in a protective way? idk thats just my opinion
I can agree, this episode is creepy as fuck, also i thought roy sacrificed himself to die just to fight against the family, but apparently he just killed the family.
I can see why episode 4 is not a fan favorite. But for me it was scary because Warren reminded me of my narcissistic friend and the friendship, I was trapped in for 4 years
Maybe it's just cause its British humour that doesn't translate as well as it should (maybe I'm just broken), but Family was the most hilarious episode to me, levelling it out in the horror with the other episodes prior a little.
I feel like seeing the matpat theory icon almost invalidates any theory one might have, due to the subconcious connection of patpat a: not knowing the defenition of the word "theory" as he misuses it constantly and b: the *fact* that he will take any bullshit and call try to peddle it for clicks and veiws. it'd be like saying "reputable company" and showing the logo for watersons and son's bits and parts limited.
Nah. You just dislike them for being popular and mainstream. Idk why everyone tries to skirt that fact. I'm very meh on film theory, but im not about to make up weakass reasons why i dont like them.
I also noticed Yellow Guy flinching at the end when Duck yelled. I think that could also provide some hints at Roy being abusive. I know it's a bit of a stretch, but with what Roy did to the family, I'm not dismissive of the idea of him being verbally abusive to Yellow Guy. Especially when he's often the target of jabs at his being yk?
I mean tbf Duck used to bite him and can be a bit agressive verbally (being so mean and raising his voice). He might be a bit afraid of Duck... Or he still has problems from being yelled at so loudly his ears bled in that one YT episode. It might even be that he's still a bit in shock after all that happened. Iirc he didn't flinch when Lesley screamed at him out of the blue!
Theres a theory i saw on tt it said that roy was actually trying to say to yellow to leave since he doesnt talk much and thats why when yellow was leaving he said a little bye and also to not see him eating the family and also yellow took 2 phone calls one for help two for roy
Yes but in a tweet of the other creator says about yellow guy's name and in the tweet says doi so i think yellow guy's canon name is doi or maybe be yellow guy;-;
Ok so another UA-camr brought up that the Twins could have been abused or neglected (being extremely hungry, using things like teeth just to have fun, the big one being extremely aggressive to the twins and their reactions) which I could see. Might explain why they want a mother, as the others don't seem to know how to take care of the two.
I think the show runners look at the twins clearly hijacking the show and just decide “Let’s just see where this goes” Considering how abusive Roy is I see him saving Yellow-Guy as “Only I get to kill you”
What's scary to me is that I saw the story of the YT DHMIS was about child actors and the horrifying things they are forced to do to please their higher ups or family and the finale to me was the child actors escaping the show, escaping Roy, and finally being allowed to do what they want. So Roy coming back in the Channel 4 series makes this series more depressing to me because they didn't escape, Roy is still there watching them. They will never escape him!
The twins and Warren The Eagle both seem like they weren't meant to be teachers but rather just showed up. To be fair though, the twins did have more of a set up. Unlike Warren The Eagle who just sort of showed up and is 110% just a parasitic brain worm. Still, the twins are openly predatory and there isn't really a lesson in what they're "teaching." They just ensnare Yellow Guy in their trap to exploit him as their new "mother." This is just rampant speculation but it's almost like there was another lesson planned for that episode, maybe something about sharing, and the twins just sort of found their way in.
9:30 its definitely an interesting message or whatever. It doesnt really say anything in particular but one takeaway is that if you want a family only for material goods, you probably shouldnt have one. There's more to a family than material goods. its the relationships, its the children you raise, the intimacy. Material goods are secondary to all of that.
Damn, the algorithm really liked this one. I mean I just found this channel through this video and then noticed the giant spike in views compared to the videos before this. Congrats dude.
You know what would've been funny? If the remade Healthy episode (because we all know how well the *other* one went) went along with the apple teacher, with Lily and Todney repeatedly seen trying to get in, before the apple finally gets nombed and the twins do their insane "lesson".
The fact that the little green boy is actually the father makes the whole scene where he's hiding under the twins bed - with used cigarette butts and eyeballing yellow guy all the more disturbing.
Wait he’s the father that’s why I couldn’t understand when he said “he’s the dad?!” 💀💀💀
@@Ivyinterrupted I know, I was confused by that line too because I had missed 'dad' referring to yellow guy as 'dear' when pushing him to make the call for the family meal (I blame being too distracted by the loud chanting and being concern for poor yellow guy's well being to notice).

Wow.
The name of the show would make quite alot of sense then
A theory from matpat that i found interesting like this one was the yellow guy is the son of Leslie and explain why she yelled you aren’t my son to him and that yellow guy would be dead from his own mom which his death could explain why he got hit by the car and Leslie is yelling
Also in one scene the boy peed his pants and in one of the animations when it talks about bunk beds the twins both can be seen peeing themselves, that's a sign of molestation. So I def think that's a reasonable theory.

following film theory latest episode, i think he always watches and never does anything because, when he saw yellow guy get hit by the car, he was just in the window and didnt do anything.
Fun fact: Matpat’s theory was exactly the same as the one I made up waiting for him to post a theory

Exactly... like the twins making them leave the house then living who knows where but it's not in the house or near it so roy does this to make everything go back in line & make sure yellow guy goes home & restart it all over again so basically roy is keeping everything the same imo & makes sure everyone stays in line!!

But I think the main reason people dislike it, is cuz of Warren, for the first part of the episode, you get the bit that he's supposed to be the annoying friend, but they keep shoving it in your face the whole episode and it's like, "we get it", but that's just my take, I cant speak for everyone obviously
to me warren seemed more like an abusive friend. when warren is in yellow guys inner world and everyone leaves he says ´you don´t need to have loads of friends. what you really need is one good friend´ even tho he was the one who drove everyone away and is now implying that warren is the only one yellow guy needs. also a bit later he says ´i´m sure you´ve got room for a restaurant style meal for your *best friend*
also he orders the food for 2 best friends
the word keeps repeating in yellow guys head eventually getting him to leave to an inner-inner world. in there warren breaks in and asks ´you´re not trying to get rid of me are you? we`re best friends´
after that yellow guy tries to run away from him and he sees warren as a big, scary, manipulative monster until red guy and duck finally get the worm out of his brain.
also warren calls him best friend even tho they barely know each other. when he is going to order the meal he says ` we can get to know each other better` but warren calling yellow guy his best friend so soon makes yellow guy feel guilty about not wanting to be friends with him.
earlier in the episode we learn warren has been bullied, so now he is this creepy manipulative dude who doesn`t want to be alone again and instead of trying to genuinely make friends he just manipulates yellow guy into heing his friend. he is an abusive friend. a worm in yellow guys brain.
Worm was so annoying so I loved when they finally got rid of him
I love the episode BECAUSE of Warren.
They did learn something! That being a family means dying on the same day, in the same style of accident, but in different locations.
4th episode of the tv series may be the weakest but it's worth it for them beating the piss out of each other

Todney said that he loves his family and his family only likes him, not that they love him back. Just like.
I’m not reading all of that but good comment and analysis

I wonder how Roy fits into the theorys about yellow guy's connection to Lesley, could he represent Lesley's husband/David's dad

I vaguely recall the word “family” appearing in dhmis 3, perhaps misspelled
That wasn't "family" in DHMIS 3. It was "harmony", and yes - it was misspelled as "Harmunee"
Roy at the end was really like:
I'm the only one who's allowed to traumatize my son!
5:24 This was a really small detail but while they are making yellow guy call for the family meal, the twins call the this one the father, while the tall one is actually the baby brother.
I think that's why the tall one never speaks. He simply hasn't learned to talk yet.
Honestly I find it kinda depressing that Red Guy’s chastised all the time by his own kind whenever he shows any emotion outside of indifference

@Dangerzone334 Don’t worry, we can always make more
It honestly felt like more of a crossover episode. One forced by the other show. They where moved to an entirely different set and and Roy obviously didn't like it.
Great video! Lots of stuff I didn't realize when I watched (like the siblings only caring about receiving stuff).
I like how Roy seems to be a bit better in the TV series, he's still...him, but as shown in the end of the episode he was partially protecting Yellow Guy even if for selfish purposes, its like when you have an overly strict dad but you still have his protection against other bad people.
The lesson of episode 3 is:
_Blood is not thicker than water._
I like that all the episodes are expanded ones from the original videos.
1 - The song and shows death and sadness. In the episode they expand on death and losing things you love and forced to accept new things
2 - The second song is about time. The episode is about losing time by working your life away.
3 - The song is about love and being accepted into a family (ends up being a cult). The episode is about family and peoples versions, that only the accepted one is mum, dad and kids.
4 - The song is about the internet and being sucked into it. The episode is about them wanting to get on the internet and depression and being in your own head
5 - The song is about food.
Daddy's working."
Yellow acts confused, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's seen Roy like this before, and just didn't want to question it too much. Having a vicious, violent monster as a father can have the rare perk.
I thought this was great and thorough analysis of the episode and I would love to see you explain your thoughts on the other ones and even the UA-cam episodes(even if they're older)
I just recently realized that the situation with the Chuddle Dollops could easily be resolved by cutting the 2 pieces into 3 pieces each.

When the woman tells YG “you’re not my *real* son” it makes me wonder if him getting hit by the car was some kind of backstory.
Maybe the woman was his mother, and after he was run over, tried to re live time with her son only to become exhausted with keeping it up which is why his batteries are degraded. There is other theory that Roy killed yellow guy when he was a child and he made him puppet friends. Something like that.
My theory:
Lily and Todney weren't supposed to appear, because the 'point' of the episodes were to always be in the house (this is shown in episodes 5 and a little bit in 6).
Lesley always wants and keeps everything happening inside the house. She then sends Roy to kill the family and take Yellow Guy back again. I don't think she would replace him like she did with Duck guy, because she in episode 6 clearly says that Yellow Guy is her favorite.

It could also explain why the twins look nothing like their family… possibly they are also brainwashed replacements for the dads missing or dead family.
ok this is wayyyyyy off topic but
When duck is looking at the "family photos" of him, yellow guy, and red guy, which aren't even pictures of them, the bottom right one looks frighteningly similar to Lesley.
That wasn't why he came to stop Red Guy, you can tell by the way he reaches out to Red Guy it's not hostility it's a gesture to come back

@@uuhhhahahahahajahahha Hmm... i suppose... but i don't know...
In the second chapter you understand its "mop guy" "ballon guy" "duck"
i love the twins' design and voices. the delivery of their lines is always very memorable and makes me laugh
Nah we learned one thing
Roy will fuck up whoever hurts or traumatizes his son whether it was staged or not
Great editing, great flow , great analysis, good video i hope this gets more views as it deserves.
Thank you so much! Glad to hear you enjoyed and think this deserves more exposure! The best way to help increase the potential views and fanbase of the video and channel is to share both this video and channel around with others.
the family episode was creepy af
Your voice sounds like red guy, and i always thought this episode was the most relaxed
I am the American Red Guy.
@@MEWTWOMILLION maybe You can make a dub video
i actually think that when roy pushes yellow guy out the way that he’s telling him to leave so he can kill them in a protective way? idk thats just my opinion
You forgot the most important detail about the pictures in the room with the tree: they’re framed!
I can agree, this episode is creepy as fuck, also i thought roy sacrificed himself to die just to fight against the family, but apparently he just killed the family.
Re: Episode 4 - I legitimately want a series with the Brain Friends. I don't really remember the rest of it. 😛
I can see why episode 4 is not a fan favorite. But for me it was scary because Warren reminded me of my narcissistic friend and the friendship, I was trapped in for 4 years
4:38 I just realized the wallet still has Duck being dead in the wallet.
You also forgot to mention that this is the second time stupid yellow guy was the last surviving charachter
He’s the only one who hasn’t died or dissapeared
Ngl, Roy seems like the most powerfull being in the show, i am sure that he is at the top of the house, not on the next floor, but on the roof
Yeah the family episode was the only one that made me really uneasy
Out of all the episodes, the family one always unnerved me the most. I mostly blamed it on the unusual and uncanny puppets used
Oh I'd love to see more videos about the other episodes! I love watching videos like this while drawing and I love this series in general
Theres a theory i saw on tt it said that roy was actually trying to say to yellow to leave since he doesnt talk much and thats why when yellow was leaving he said a little bye and also to not see him eating the family and also yellow took 2 phone calls one for help two for roy
The care hound scared me so much dude
It looks like Remy from Buggy Huggy's version of Garten of Banban TBH
I'm pretty sure that Red Guy, Yellow Guy, and Duck are their canon names.
Yes but in a tweet of the other creator says about yellow guy's name and in the tweet says doi so i think yellow guy's canon name is doi or maybe be yellow guy;-;
Yellow guy:doing
Red guy:harry
Duck:idk
Ok so another UA-camr brought up that the Twins could have been abused or neglected (being extremely hungry, using things like teeth just to have fun, the big one being extremely aggressive to the twins and their reactions) which I could see. Might explain why they want a mother, as the others don't seem to know how to take care of the two.
I think the show runners look at the twins clearly hijacking the show and just decide “Let’s just see where this goes”
Considering how abusive Roy is I see him saving Yellow-Guy as “Only I get to kill you”
The script used alot of repeating words
What's scary to me is that I saw the story of the YT DHMIS was about child actors and the horrifying things they are forced to do to please their higher ups or family and the finale to me was the child actors escaping the show, escaping Roy, and finally being allowed to do what they want.
So Roy coming back in the Channel 4 series makes this series more depressing to me because they didn't escape, Roy is still there watching them. They will never escape him!
Wait when I was watching it
I noticed Roy in the episode I swear he is everywhere
The twins and Warren The Eagle both seem like they weren't meant to be teachers but rather just showed up. To be fair though, the twins did have more of a set up. Unlike Warren The Eagle who just sort of showed up and is 110% just a parasitic brain worm. Still, the twins are openly predatory and there isn't really a lesson in what they're "teaching." They just ensnare Yellow Guy in their trap to exploit him as their new "mother." This is just rampant speculation but it's almost like there was another lesson planned for that episode, maybe something about sharing, and the twins just sort of found their way in.
I absolutely love the Dhmis scared videos, I’ve watched them all and episode 3 was by far my favorite
Shoutout to that poor apple that was just in the floor the whole time. So creepy
The little one is the father, don’t forget lol!
0:38 i call them
red:harry
yellow:manny
duck:david
9:30 its definitely an interesting message or whatever. It doesnt really say anything in particular but one takeaway is that if you want a family only for material goods, you probably shouldnt have one. There's more to a family than material goods. its the relationships, its the children you raise, the intimacy. Material goods are secondary to all of that.
The final fantasy music at the end 💀
That episode was TERRIFYING😂 that was the only one I was like, I don’t want to watch this one again
Super Ghouls and Ghosts (Snes) music….lovely!
Please come back to this series in another video I absolutely loved this video!!!
