That was great! I miss ATWT and the old openings and closings. Signature for those shows. I wish they would have used this theme on the series finale or something of the like instead of the captions. It would have been a great closing for 54 years on the air.
Here's a fun fact about as the world turns it was on cbs for 2830 weeks April 2 1956 to september 17 2010. My grand mother watched this soap from 1956 until her death in 1994.
Excellent reimagining! The Charles Paul ATWT theme is my favorite--very elegant, majestic, and stately! I was a bit disappointed at first when this theme was replaced in the fall of 1981.
Indeed, Charles Paul's original theme song to "ATWT" is one of the most powerful TV themes ever written, both in the original organ/piano version and especially in the magnificent orchestral arrangement. (Katherine Jenkins ought to record a vocal version of this song.)
Great job - only thing is you should have said "and now for the next hour, As the World Turns". Reason I said that is ATWT as you know expanded to an hour, taped on 12/1/1975. If it were in fact a 30 minute episode it would have said "and now live for the next 30 minutes, As the World Turns" - the show switched from live to tape the same day it expanded to an hour, one of the last soaps to regularly be done live. However, with the cast list it would be impossible for it to be one of the 1/2 hour live ones. For example, Joyce's surname here is Hughes - on the live ones she was using the surname Colman; she married Donald in 1977 or possibly 1978. Conrad Fowlkes joined the cast as Donald Hughes in 1978, as did Colleen Zenk as Barbara and Ariane Munker as Melinda. Also, Michael Nader is listed in the credits as Kevin Thompson and he was on 1976-1978. Therefore, it appears this episode was a Friday one in 1978 and definitely a taped hour long one.
This was around the time that ATWT was ending its remarkable run as the number one soap for 30 years, followed by a few years of cast and writing changes, and several storylines being dropped without explanation, before Doug Marland would come in and revive the show for many years to come. 😊😊
You did a terrific job! Dan McCullough would be proud!
Thanks.
I miss this music and the old As the World Turns. It brings back so many memories.

Magnificent orchestral version of the show's original theme song!!!
I loved this soap black in the day.....🌍

Barbara Rucker played Sandy, not Barbara Berjer... Don Hughes was played by CONARD Fowkes, not Conrad.
WOW....this is SO cool...I presume this must be the 1978 cast.... : D
Should have been the theme for the whole 50plus years
Exactly!!

Cast List. I'm trying to use that one as well.
