- A quick look at my new EDC (Every Day Carry) pocket knife. Light and VERY sharp, the Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight in black is a great looking knife with amazing ergonomics! This will be replacing my tried-and-true Zero Tolerance 350ST, for now anyway 😁👍

I've had the same Spyderco Endura in my pocket every day since 1994. Fully serrated blade. Still sharp and I've cut screen doors, ropes, tape, you name it. Even boned out a couple chickens. Definitely got my money's worth out of this knife.
Wow that is amazing. Thanks for the comment and info. Much appreciated 🍻👍
That’s awesome. You should do a long term review on that thing
These are awesome. I bought my son one for Christmas about 5 years ago. I paid $85 for it. He has used the crap out of it I've been wanting one for myself, but now the price are around $120. I just can't bring myself to pay over a hundred bucks for any knife. I guess I should've bought me one when they were cheaper.
Hi and thanks for the comment. This thing is holding up quite well. Don't even notice it in my pocket it's so light. And wow are they Sharp
The pink one can be found under $100 when you get lucky. It's pink but eh S30V steel and if anyone is making fun of you, you're still holding a knaf
Whats crazy about the lockback is that most often time than not, the blade will break before the lock fails! 💪
Thanks for the comment Don. That's one of the reasons why I bought this pocket knife 👍🍻
I’ve got the partial serrated version of this exact knife. Bought it a couple of weeks ago at a knife shop in the area. Definitely my new EDC, and loving it.
Thanks for the comment and congrats on the new blade. Definitely a great EDC!!
The Native 5 is one of my favorite designs from Spyderco & no matter which one of their knives I'm rocking, I use the Thumb Hole to deploy it with my thumb. I don't need to do that other crap to think I'm cool. I already know I am. Great video!
Thank you for the awesome comment 😀
Break the mold and EDC both! Spidey is light enough you won't notice anyway! Best of both worlds! Stay safe and healthy! Time for your deer bologna, cheese, Ritz, and Mild/Spicey pepper jelly. The Spidey knife will make quick work of the cheese and bologna!
Yummmmm, deer bologna!!
Native 5 is my favourite EDC. i have 3 (CruWear, MagnaCut and Maxamet) all custom scales.
Bleed on Jimmy, Bleed on… excellent choice. Let’s have a review in 3 months and let’s see if you’ve gone back to the ZT..ATB Mike
Thanks Mike, much appreciated. Yeah I'll take a look at this in about three months and see where it's sitting. Might not be in my pocket lol
Lightweight Native is the linerless version right? I wish it's available in my country but only the steel liner version here. Might have to wait for a year I guess.
Thanks for the comment 👍. Yup, linerless, nice, and light.
I carried a Kershaw combo edge blur like your zt in rotation from 2006 to 2019, and got a native 5 in LC200N. There are about 10 others in rotation though but these robust KAI USA knives like your ZT are popular tools ive noticed amongst regular guys who need a robust tool and arent necessarily steel nerds.
Heck yeah . Got the maxamet form a spyderco sale . It came really sharp as they should . I just wanted to see what maxamet steel was like. Doesn’t feel like a flicker without some effort so slow roll with the thumb for now . The delica breaks in to be a flicker since it has washers but I don’t think the lightweight has any washers whatsoever . It’s still a good knife imo despite the fidget factor being a 1 out of 10 😊
2 years later. How is it? Do you still like it? Can you Spydie flick now?
Still in my pocket 👍. Spydie flick is better, but with that lock back, it's a bit slower than other Spyderco locks. Nice and light, though 🍻
You should of got the native 5 salt completely rust proof and also frn handles like the lightweight but better deal
Hi and thanks for the comment. Not a big fan of the yellow or the steel of the salt model.
Good review...never had a Spyderco myself.
Thanks Craig. It's a pretty cool knife and very lightweight 👍🍻
Have you checked to see if this Native 5 has washers inside the handle? I'm asking because on some reviews people have said that the FRN handle scales wore down after some time because of the lack of washers.
Nope, it's been perfect, so I'm not interested in taking it apart 👍

Just check with a flashlight 🔦
@@JimmyMeatwhistle
Well I'm still going to buy one, the Spy27 cobalt blue version.
I looked with the flashlight, it looks like the washers are there but it's really hard to tell.
@@JimmyMeatwhistle
Thanks for checking.
How come you went from partially serrated to plain edge; Native 5 is offered in combo edge also. Did you not need serrations on ZT or otherwise?
I just wanted to try something different. I love the serrations for sure and kind of miss my ZT. I have a feeling it'll be back in my pocket in the new year. Although I do love how lightweight this Spyderco is.
I love the spyderco s as I have several DFs a delica and chaparral. Take care.
O.. God.!!, you are cool man in knife showing.... Thank you
Wow, thank you 👍👍
Hi, just wondering, do you still carry the Native 5?
I sure do. For now anyway
@@JimmyMeatwhistle GREAT.
Have fun brother but stay safe.
I think you should try the Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2. I also have a ZT 0350, the GB2 is in the same class as the 0350.
Thanks for the comment and info, Nico. I will check it out 🍻👍
Hi, checking up on the Native 5. Do you still EDC it?
I sure do 👍👍
@@JimmyMeatwhistle thank you for the response. You will hear from in a years time.
Good replacement edc
Yes it's been great so far. Very light too, you don't even know you're carrying it 👍
Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy….keep drinking that Lagavulin and you’ll find you’ll eventually find you’ll have the unexplained need to role in Camp fire ash, and eat spruce bows…….you’re a bigger man than me my friend!
I do that ash thing on a regular basis 😆
@@JimmyMeatwhistle 🤣🤣🤣👍
I subbed because your funny. Not as funny as Advanced knife bro but funny. Info was good also.
Haha, thank you 👌👍🍻
