As someone who grew up on a farm, I fully understand the plight of the farmer. Excellent work on removing the dam and draining the field. At the same time, I have a huge respect for these talented animals. I also understand (not first hand unfortunately) how important the beaver is to the ecological environment and one the best parts of growing up on a farm was being woken by my father in the middle of the night to see some kind of wild animal or bird that we didn't normally see. Another was fishing in the stream for rainbow trout that flowed through our land and was also a boundary between our farm and the next. Sometimes, a fallen tree would block the stream and our field and our neighbour's field would flood, destabilising the boundary fence. For the trout, this was fantastic, for us, it was a nuisance. So the natural dams had to go but doing it too much, meant less trout the following year. Finding the balance between agriculture and wildlife is never easy. Poland and you guys, seem to have a good balance. Keep up the good work!

Glad to see your equipment operator seems to be getting a little better as he does more dams. He still needs to learn to use the edge of the bucket more instead of the bottom of the bucket. He also tends to curl the bucket too early especially when it's in the water which makes him leave behind far too much. Overall though he seems to be learning. Not meant to condemn him. I have 4 decades of operating behind me. Just trying to help. If you recognize my name you know how impressed I am with your manual beaver dam removal.

The space was narrow, the large branches were awkward for the "bucket arm thing" to get hold of. It looked pretty obvious that the man pulling the branches with his hands saved a lot of time and effort for the machine trying to line up and catch individual tree branches. The mud and small stuff is what the "bucket" is really useful for, and for digging of course.
