I more than anything do find the flowing of water immensely satisfying. I used to love beaver dam removal videos, but I have since realized how much ecological value such structures add by slowing the water, recharging the aquifer, making the plants downstream grow much more resilient to changes in weather, and not to mention providing habitat for countless species by creating diversity in riverscapes with side channels and ponds of varying depths. And they do all of that for free. Post10 only does removals when a dam creates a hazard to infrastructure and I find that approach muuch more ecologically sound. There are plenty of other channels on yt that have information on river restoration efforts and the true value of beavers and their dams, how some people pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to create log structures to mimic the beaver dam. I know creating these videos provides financial incentive to you, but perhaps you can assess with the about information, if your next dam removal is doing good or harm to the environment. Summers are hotter than ever, and beaver dams simply cannot burn. Hope you would consider doing a video of you building a beaver dam analog in the future instead. :) Cheers!
Hey Lynn Duncan 🤗🤗 good to hear from you again ☺️ yes definitely, but it was a beautiful day out only 70 and a nice breeze 👍 hope you are having a good day Lynn see you soon 😉
you might want to add a pitchfork and a pick axe, as well as both a shovel and a spade to your toolset. Also, for a dam that is as densely packed as this one was, there is a tool that generally speaking guys who do concrete work use, its kind of like a 6 foot long steel crowbar, they use it to drive into concrete after it has been jackhammered to pry it apart or to pry off concrete forms. One name brand is Marshalltowns's Big Bad Monster.
While I’m a proponent of letting the water flow assist with deconstruction, these types of dams can be collapsed if you dig out the backside near the bottom. The pressure of the water against a slowly thinning wall will cause it to tip over. Quite a display that way and overall easier to do with a bang!
Beavers are mother natures erosion control specialist, helping to conserve water and wetlands and providing a natural habitat for waterfowl, fish and all sorts of bugs and worms. I found many "benches" in the Appalachians that were old beaver dams. Virginia is the only state seeking to re-establish them to help stop the silt from entering the primary streams.
I wish someone could take a video of the beavers actually making a dam. It's a shame to wreck all their dams as they can do a lot of good in the right places. I know, they do a lot of harm in the wrong places too. Ought to be a middle ground someplace where we can all live together peacefully.
I was drinking in a bar when a beaver entered and showed to everyone there your youtube Channel and asking if we know where you live, of course we all said we never heard about you. After few drinks I asked the beaver what was he going to do if he find you, he said other angry beavers hired him to track you down and barricade your house so you will stop destroying their work 😜
@@foxriverbushcraft2345 lol yes I am it's been an awesome day! Got to watch your video & spend time with my grandson Conner! Much love from Henderson Ga
Your caption made me laugh. Um, you don't drain the dam no matter its size, you drain the pond folks. You might want to consider using some hip waders in future endevours. Just saying... Nice video though! I still love playing in the water even as a senior. Cheers.
Cool story bro. How much did the farmer have to pay for the required IDNR permit to destroy that beaver dam? Did you check the permit first to avoid Illinois Department Of Natural Resources wrath?
You don’t need a permit to remove a beaver dam In Illinois - if the dam is causing damage or a hazard you don’t need a permit - gottta read the laws Bro 😎 LOOPHOLES

It was quite nice of the beavers to build in the shade so you don't overheat again!

That is a well built dam. Nice job! You might want to add a shovel to your tool arsenal. Would help alot with all that mud. Keep it up!
Awesomely built dam. Nicely opened. A shovel would be a good addition to Your Arsenal. Stay Safe...
Thats phenomenal. Your doing a great job. Them beavers are going to be very pissed off.
Hey BigDeb 🤗 lol thank you 😊 hope you are having a good day, see you soon
Definitely mother beaver dam that thing is huge 😮😮
Glad you enjoyed the video 👋🏻
Wow that’s a big beaver dam 🦫 watching now 👍
Thank you
That dropped SO FAST! The side banks showed up in no time!
EXCELLENT job! I know the farmer appreciates you so much.
Thank you, hope your day is going well D 😉😊
@@foxriverbushcraft2345 I’m trying to avoid heat stroke over here …. 102 with 106 heat index. I need to mow my yard. Doing it in pieces. 🥵
Just made a grove! The dam is still there.
The Beavers abandoned this entire creek, my annoyance method worked 👍
Thank you for the clearing, Johnathon. Great water flow! 👍🙂🇺🇸
Beautiful landscape shot of the lake.
Another job well done

Use tanasite and gun 40 pounds

Dang bro. That one gave you a workout. Be safe and have fun brother.

Helps with mosquitoes too
You bet the mosquitoes 🦟 are horrible 👍
Cool video. Stay safe out there
You need a belt or rope for them dang pants. Lol
EXCELLENT job.
Бобры построили на славу! очень сложно разобрать. Жаль, что они опять всё восстановят через неделю.весь ваш труд напрасен 😊
Well done! 😊
you do it well 👍
You do realize.....They will have it built back......even stronger in just a couple of days!
Hello nice meet u
Great Job! 💜🤎💜🤎💜
Thank you Julia ☺️💜 hope you are having a relaxing day 🤗
Get the shovel cut from the bottom …. Save times and effort, let the water pressure take away…

Fifty pounds of Tannerite should do the trick.

Awesome work!! Stay safe and stay cool. IL is freaking hot right now!
Hey Lizzy ☺️ thank you, hope your having a good day - are you also from Illinois ?
I think id have to let tannerite handle some of these😂
I am tired of people destroying natural habitat to fund their websites. How would you like some to come by and destroy your home. I fish these ponds.
Natural habitats ? Not sure what your talking about. I remove nuisance beaver dams in Inappropriate areas
nice job
i hope someone checked to see if the dam was good for the area or bad before tearing it up. just saying.
Very cool video. Good job young man.
‼️‼️‼️
Where are there beavers in this area? I didn't think we had them here.
Hello Donna 👋🏻 And Thank You For Watching - Yes beavers can be in any creek or river In Illinois - where exactly are you from ? And Have A Great Day
@@foxriverbushcraft2345 I'm in Arlington Heights. Northwest suburb of Chicago.
😅😅😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Mi sembra che usi un attrezzo poco funzionale 😮😮😮
Why dont you use a digger bar and pry it loose? Be a lot faster
You need to dig out the bottom just in front of the dam. If you do this it won't take much to get it to topple over and drain better.
Keep digging down in the same spot
Wonder how long it took the beaver to rebuild.

Одень штаны на лямках, как у сантехника - ремень не будет на пузо давить. Современная мода на ремни не для работающего человека.
would love to see more debris up on the bank instead of downstream to collect somewhere else
Please stop this disaster!!! This is not to clean but dirty change only the place. See before msTECH86 but you stop immediately
Huh ?
Good morning Merry Christmas do you have piece of equipment

Are you saying this is bad to break the dams? If so, you are incorrect.
You weren’t listening. Farmer didn’t want the dam removed; just the water drained.
