Cool! I hadn't seen anybody mention the adjustment buttons for the bass strap. There's so many clever things in the design. I'm convinced it's the most innovative accordion anybody's made in decades in many ways. Applying some of the ideas to larger models for adults would be really intriguing.
Hey Bruce! Yeah I was surprised no one mentioned the adjustable bass strap, it’s such a unique feature. Definitely would be cool to see some features trickled into more advanced models
@@SqueezeandThanks I imagine some kids growing up and wanting one like it but bigger. They released an adult version of the XS already. Marketing it like what I called a "backpacker's accordion" when I first saw this one. If we can predict next moves, I'd say maybe a MS, medium sized version with similar indestructibility, but a few more bases. Or, they'd be foolish not to release a 3row diatonic version for young norteño players. Those'd sell like crazy in black and red or something.
Finally! I found exactly the community I've been looking for for a long time! I myself love playing the accordion and have finally found more people who like the accordion as much as I do! Thank you for your cool videos! Greetings from southern Germany, Bavaria 🙂
I even use Accordion type Straps (The Double Guitar Strap) on my Dean EDS-1275 Knockoff cause its weight is akin to an Accordion. The Double Strap really helps distribute the weight more evenly when the instrument is in playing position, just like the Accordion.
Hey, sorry I just got to this now, hope you were informed about the competition announcement! The bravo needs a good home and would be the perfect next accordion for ya! 😉
@@SqueezeandThanks I call it the "Mini Mellow Accordion" because it has a Mellow sound that'll make kids & adults happy. It's a little bit bigger than those Cheap Toy Accordions which can often have intonation issues.
Also those Cheap Toy Accordions are Diatonic Accordions so they can only play in the Key of C, plus they have really poor intonation issues. The XS is a little bigger in versatility cause it's Chromatic which means you can play in any key. A Free Bass version would be cool cause you can play Piano & Organ music on it too. The Luttbeg Accordion has Piano Keyboards on both sides so it's great for Accompanying Choirs & Singer-Songwriters.
Hey Denny, AWESOME ACCORDION INFO!!! especially for the younger enthusiast getting into this instrument, as well as for the back packing, smooth operating, accordion lover's out there..., Thanks Denny and HOHNER Accordions!!!
You are one of a kind, Denny! With the emphasis definitely on KIND. Thank you for all the love you show to the world and thank you for your unique and driven dedication to playing the accordion, giving this incredibly diverse and wonderful instrument such timeless relevance. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏

I don’t know offhand but I know it’s not anywhere exotic like Germany or Italy… definitely somewhere cheaper but the quality is still very good and well thought out. I do believe it was designed in Germany before being sent out for production as a lot Hohner’s designs come from there
This is great! I want to be like you someday, playing for fun and spreading positivity! I am looking forward to the accordion competition. I'm going to meet Weird Al and show him my skills in a few weeks lol

seriously thinking of buying this one for travelling ! XS looks nice I recently repared an old accordion very underrated instrument in the West ( in the East it is still a serious instrument )
If the form factor is what you’re after, this is a good option, but if you can find a cheaper 48 bass (little bigger), that might be more enjoyable for you. I really wish this had the counterbass row and the width of a 48, I think it’s only from F to A
I really appreciate you saying that! I had learning disabilities growing up so unless I fully have my head wrapped around a subject and can explain it well to others myself, I have trouble learning it. But I suppose the thoroughness of that process helps in the long run 😊
It all depends on the child. It's a tough question when it comes to kids because you're never sure how serious they are when it comes to picking up an instrument, so the price tag on this accordion might be out of reach, or a little steep... however this would be the perfect instrument if you're sure that the instrument would be played and used often.
Do only professional music/instrument retailers sell these? I would like to buy one. My online searching is coming up with no buying options. I just found your channel and really like your content! I plan on buying your charts!
Thank you for the kind words!! :) Hmm, I wonder if they discontinued them, that’s odd they’re not available. I don’t really use my black one hardly at all, I might consider selling it if you’re interested?

One more question, do you play polka shows from time to time? I didn't see it mentioned on your website. I saw in your video that you hurt your shoulder a few years back.
