When you go please also check out North Laine. He didn't even touch on it but it's crammed with bric-a-brac shops, antique shops, eclectic and weird shops and some amazing restaurants.
I live in Eastbourne which is next door. I'd love to meet up lovely ladies or even give you a tour of beautiful Eastbourne and the beauty spots and historic highlights right on our doorstep❤
Girls, you have just made me oh, so happy with this video. I used to love going down to Brighton with my late parents (RIP), because we would go down there to visit my now late grandparents (RIP), as well as go for some Fish & Chips at the seaside.
My late mother (RIP) was a Sussex lass, & my father (RIP) a Warwickshire lad, so I have dual-county allegiances here. The last time I ever went down there, was to bury my late grandfather (RIP). That was almost 11 years ago, miserable weather for a miserable occasion. Again, thank you girls so much for bringing back so many happy memories for me personally.
You are staying in Kent so you won't be far away. Take a classic day trip. Also Hastings is worth a look while you are in the area.
What you may not know, is that The Grand Hotel in Brighton was bombed by the IRA in 1984 in an attempt to kill Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and members of her cabinet. 5 people were killed in the bombing, with many more injured.
Love to see a live stream of you both tandem biking (who's stearing) lol
'The Lanes' in Brighton can take up the whole day investigating. This is in addition to the main streets and then there is the sea front. It has a real artistic vibe
Back when I was a student it was great for 2nd hand record shops etc. Best bargain was a shop that sold dry cleaning that people had forgotten to collect, picked up a full tuxedo for graduation ball for only £15. It fitted -just.
EXACTLY! Why on earth did he focus on just the beach front? That is not the best part of Brighton..!
There’s also the Marina area to explore.
You ce been going to Brighton for a long long time and I’m pretty sure I’ve not been to all the shops in the lanes. I live that the Lanes are different on the beach side and the palace side. If I could afford it I would live in The Lanes!
im british and love watching you american ladies reaction to britian you are both great i find it fascinating
Just after leaving high school I worked for a summer on Hastings Pier, and the amount of maintenance they require is extremely high. I mean, some of it you expect as something very exposed to the weather, plus to a lot of corrosive salt in the damp air, and the fact that most of them are historical buildings. However, those wooden decks have to be hosed down at least twice each day during sunny days to prevent the planks from completely drying out and becoming fragile. You can't replace them with artificial planks made from modern resins or plastics, of course, because almost all of these historical piers are listed historical buildings, meaning that parts can only be replaced with authentic materials (and building methods). Hastings Pier has long enclosed sections with hundreds of tall but narrow windows, and those windows have to be cleaned every single day, all of them, to preserve the clear views and the presentation standards that visitors will expect.
My first visit to Brighton in 1967 was a defining day for me. The Univ of Sussex had been one of my picks for undergraduate study (though I ended up in Montréal). I was invited for interview. I was put up at a guest house in Brighton. The hosts were the first openly gay men I had ever met! Initially bemused, confused, even a tad afraid, as a naïve 17-yr old only child, I ended up having great fun with my hosts. One of my sons is gay and married. My Brighton experience paved the way for my open acceptance of my son and his Oregonian husband. ❤
I got lost on Brighton beach when I was about 6. My dad took me to the public toilets, when I came out I didn't immediately see him so decided to make my way back to our spot on a beach with literally thousands of people on in. I got totally lost, some people found me and took me to the police tent where a policeman bought me an ice cream. My frantic parents found me shortly thereafter and were in floods of tears and I was just like "look mummy I got an ice cream". I think my mum is still traumatised about the incident decades later!
any partent in that situation would be frantic, glad all worked out ok
One things these videos miss is that behind Brighton, and nearby coastal towns are the South Downs, which in places have fantastic views over the sea, and down the coastline to the Seven Sisters cliffs. Not to mention that the South Downs are the newest national park in the UK. Why is nobody mentioning this? Lewes is a fantastic medieval town with a castle at the top & Priory ruins in the valley, with the Downs as a backdrop.
I live in Brighton. North Laine area is kind of the beating heart of Brighton's independent spirit. Surprised it was missed in the video.
Brighton Pavilion always makes me think of the poem Xanaduu by Coleridge
Best place to live, im from London and love living in Brighton. Its surrounded by beautiful countryside too, right o top of the South Downs National Park, one side of Brighton is East Sussex and the other side is West Sussex. Beachy Head and Cuckmere Haven is beautiful a walkers paradise, Arundel and Chichester in West Sussex is beautiful too. But for me, Brighton is a dog lovers paradise, i love walking my tiny Jack Russell by Brighton Racecourse, with its views all over the city. I think the best place ive visited which is not far is Charleston House, home of Virginia Wolfe and the Bloomsbury set, an artists and a gardeners paradise.❤
I lived in Shoreham which is about 4 miles west - GF and I would often spend Saturdays just cruising around the back street. If it wasn't for the fog you could see the big Shoreham power station chimneys. This was in the late 60's and the big night out was the Top Rank Ballroom and all the big names would play there and you met everyone you knew! Very busy in mid summer - great - loved it!
Brighton, for me is all the better on a foggy/misty day - far less tourists about and it allows you to discover all those nooks and crannies. The architecture throughout is a wonderful mix of old and new, and the shopping quarter known as The Laines holds many a surprise.
The gentry built homes on the Montpelier district and those white painted homes today, still exude the grandeur of the time. Built on the higher ground from the coast and fishing village below.
There is nothing better than an aimless wander around this coast and then heading inland to saviour some fantastic places to eat.
I was born in Brighton and have lived here all my life. I’ll never leave as it’s apart of me.
The Fortunes of War pub on the seafront is one of my favourite pubs and it’s Brighton’s only upside boat pub. Has an outside bar and indoor bar as well. Beautiful to sat at in the summer xx
I’m a bit late to this one but looking forward to another of your lovely reaction videos. I like Walk With Me Tim. The interaction with his wife when she joins him is hilarious and they have the sweetest most smiley toddler son.
I grew up in the country and when my boyfriend wanted to buy a house in Brighton, I was so against it as I'm not a 'city girl' but this place is just so cool and it grew on me so fast! I think there is a place for everyone in Brighton and it does sometimes feel like a mini London but with the added bonus of the sea. I love how inclusive and alternative it is; there's always something to see and do here. I thought I'd be desperate to move back to a quieter area but I've been here for 8 years now and I'm happy.
That's so great and we certainly see why you're so happy there!
Smurf, you & me both.
I used to run pubs in Brighton. This video is fantastic but shows only a snippet of what's on offer. Check out the North Laines area, London Road with The Duke of York Cinema, St. Anne's Well Gardens, Preston Park, The Level, Kemp Town, Hove, Brighton Marina... and soooo much more. Not to mention some of the cool villages and towns close to Brighton such as Rottindean, Lewes, and Arundel.
Also, before you come do check out all the live shows (theatre, comedy, music, food) and festivals and try to coincide your visit with something you would like to see.
Oh.... and Brighton Pride is fantastic!! ❤❤
Two days may be too short of a time to enjoy all Brighton has to offer, and to really unwind in the fantastic vibe of the city (on the whole it's happy, welcoming, inclusive, and non-judgemental). In fact.... I'm not sure you will want to leave 😊😊😊
The Prince regent who lived in the Pavillion decorated the inside with a very strong Chinese theme, completely ignoring that all the architecture was Indian! It was used as a hospital for Indian soldiers in WW1.
The most famous depiction of the Prince Regent was by Hugh Laurie in Blackadder III , who portrayed him as the ultimate upper class twit.
The real Prince Regent was MUCH fatter than Hugh Laurie though.
The Royal Pavilion is stunning…top of my ‘must see’ list in Brighton. You can take a room-by-room 360 degree ‘virtual tour’. Search “Virtual tour of the Royal Pavilion - Brighton & Hove Museums”. There’s audio commentary for each room (click arrow at top left of the first room image) and tap black dots super-imposed on the walls for info on notable features. Of course a real life visit is better … but this is a nice “taster”.
Brighton Pavilion is an amazing, over the top building which verges on the vulgar but is nevertheless entirely mesmerising. It also was full of up-to-date fixtures of the era. George 1V's inspiration for the Pavilion was Sezincote, a large country house in Gloucestershire built by a nabob, i.e., one who had made a fortune working in the Indian subcontinent for the notorious East India Company. It is a much more modest and refined structure than the Pavilion built in the Indian style, with a charming garden laid out with a central water course and geometrical design again in the Moghul style.
Sezincote is open to the public.
It was at one stage due for destruction, as it slipped into disrepair and vandalism.
But was restored late in the 20th Century.
Thank you for checking out all these videos of various places around the UK. I so wish other Americans would do the same as there is so, so, so much more to the UK than just London 😊
I'm a HUGE Elvis fan and, of course, you're right that he loved the dodgems and loved to go on them with his guys. Have you also heard of the 'Zippin Pippin' which was Elvis' favourite roller coaster. He would rent the whole of 'Libertyland Fairground' in Memphis so that he and his friends and family could enjoy the rides and he would ride the 'Zippin Pippin' for hours at a time without stopping. I've been lucky enough to visit Libertyland before it closed. The 'Zippin Pippin' is now the oldest existing roller coaster in US and it is still in operation now in Green Bay, Wisconsin 😍
Don't tell Natasha 🤫 but I've also heard that there is a hotel in Brighton that has an Elvis-themed bedroom 😊
That is where I took the Queens shilling and signed the blank cheque for up to and including my life! 12 years in the RAF started in Brighton in 1976.
Love that shirt Natasha ❤️ wowa never been I'd love to visit one day. Ta.
I am originally from Brighton, a Brightonian! Although I lived in Hove (Actually) that is next door to Brighton westwards! I no longer live there, but growing up, spent most of my teenage weekends in Brighton, in the town, at the beach, on the pier etc.... Through all these video's on YT, I am STILL learning little pieces of facts that I never knew, many years after moving away.
Debbie under the umbrella good idea, but you will have about thirty seagulls perched on the top waiting for your ice cream to drip, lol
Really enjoyed the video, I lived in Brighton for 46 years
If you like gold and diamonds you’ll love the Lanes. There are loads of second hand jewellery shops.
Diamonds are a girl's best friend! 💎💎
My family and I have just come back from Minehead in Somerset where we have a holiday in butlins holiday camp. While there we witnessed a sea gull swoop down and stole an ice cream from a 3 year old girl, knocking her to the ground, she was OK mum and dad were at hand, but about 10 other seagulls flew in squawking at the offending seagull as if they were telling him off, like that's not what we do. Love your show.
thanks for watching my tour of Brighton :-)
Thank YOU for making such incredible videos!! 💖
Seaside piers were originally built for a purely functional purpose ,which was to do with transport .
Even before the coming of railways people needed to travel about the British Isles but the only transport was to walk ,use horses (either riding or driven) or by boat.
The coastal trade meant that there was always the possibility of going by sea ,which could be the quickest way but often the towns on the coast had water too shallow for the larger boats .
So these wooden piers were constructed, leading out as far as the deeper water and passengers would disembark and walk along the pier to the land.
The coastal towns nearest to London along the South Coast all became very popular for a day`s outing ,Brighton was one of these
I live 12 miles outside of Brighton and a one time i was the Catering Manager in overall charge of the Royal Pavilion Tea Rooms, the Dome Theatre, the Corn Exchange and the Town Hall catering. Please watch any Video about The Royal Pavilion, the Interior is even more stunning than the Exterior. 😊
Oh, you two are in for a treat. Just keep your eyes wide open and expect to see anything and everything that you would not expect to see.
It's a shame he missed out the Volks Electric Railway, the lovely little seafront train which started in 1883. Have a look at a video of it. Also since that video was filmed there is now a newly built swimming pool on the beach called Sea Lanes.
Elements not mentioned are the theatres, gig venues, Brighton Arts Festival and a very vibrant live comedy scene in the city!
Blackpool is also famous for its illuminations
The football (soz soccer) team is affectionately known as the Seagulls and currently plays in the English premier league. If you want to see a traditional English pub I recommend the Basketmakers Arms in the North Lanes area. I live a few miles along the coast but am not a local expert on the city.
Typical spend all week in Brighton working (my job is in Brighton) come home to relax by watching Natasha and Debbie with their latest offering and, knock me down with a feather, it is about Brighton 🤣🤣🤣🤣But seriously it is a wonderful place to visit (some places not so) and also only a short drive to some beautiful scenery. The Devil's Dyke, The Seven Sisters and one I see every time I drive home, the view from Ditchling Beacon. Also Brighton is the home of my football (soccer) team, the mighty Albion. I have watched them since 1972 through good times, bad times and now golden times. Love, hugs and prayers from Sussex, UK.
Hiya ladies,,I keep telling you of a TV show that you can watch all about Kent. It is hosted by the late, great Paul O Grady, you are already familiar with him from, Battersea dogs home. The show is called Paul O Gradys, great escapes. You both will love it, especially as you are gonna be staying there. SO WATCH IT. NOW 😂❤, and as always, thanx for another great reaction, take care, Tony ❤❤
I've heard and now seen cool things about Brighton, I'm actually considering a vacation down there.
Do it! I promise you won't regret it! :D
the film quadrophinia has a lot of scenes shot in brighton
Love quadrophinia film by the who
And at night it comes alive with many venues hosting live music . And it really is a place of all genders to feel comfortable . The Lanes are an amazing mix of shops ,bars and eateries too. Definately worth a visit .
Cream tea in Brighton Pavilion on the veranda overlooking the square below. Fish and chips in the restaurant on Brighton pier. Good night life.
Sounds great! Thanks cubeaceuk
Ahh, your watching our walk with me, tim, lovely guy! When the fog by the sea its called a sea fret ,
I live in brighton and born a bred, If you love the look of the royal pavillion and cant get here for the summer fear not! The front lawn gets converted to a very popular ice skating rink which is loads of fun!
The carousel, I've never heard them called Gallopers. I've always called them Merry-go-rounds
I Whitby my Wife and I were sat on a wall opposite a couple of fish and chip shops and the number of people that had seagulls diving on there open food trays, yes they do it all over the place.
Fond memories of hot doughnuts Brighton pier in the deep snow 😊 the pavilion is beautiful
You can have refreshments on the terrace of Brighton Pavillion, it's an amazing building to tour.
As you are going to Brighton , you must(It is a "MUST DO") get on a Bus to the "Devils Dyke" for the . The most stunning view of the Sussex weald. On a fine day you will never forget it. Quintessentially English scene. Then stroll down to the valley for a lunch at the ancient "Shepherd and DOG" in the village below the Dyke. Alongside the ancient pub is the pure spring water gushing from the hills. A scene that has not changed for hundreds of years whilst over the hills is the razzmatazz of international Brighton!
Shepherd and Dog is a great pub.
I loved watching the starlings murmurating over the wrecked pier
Brit here. After falling down the Ren rabbit hole and seeing the Big Push and other busking musicians on YT I mourned the fact that I wasn't in Brighton and missed it's best days. I thought, "oh well, perhaps I might take a look around there if I am in E. Sussex ever again". But after seeing this video I will DEFINITELY go for at least a week, ya never know, it could end up permanent
"That nothing, he didn't show enough" - Oh so true (and I live there!) but perhaps anyone from another city/town would say the same thing. If you were ever to visit, you would need a two night stopover to discover things like the world's first (aka oldest) aquarium, the world's first film sets (before relocation to Hollywood), the Lanes, the theatres, the shops, etc etc etc
You can go inside the Royal Pavilion which is well worth doing as it's stunning inside
Oh really? Yay!! ❤❤
@@TheNatashaDebbieShow Yeah it's a museum, you can actually take a virtual tour on their website
You have to check out a vid of it. It’s the most lavish extraordinary unreal interior you’ll ever see!
RE tandem bikes... when I was small (ie 2/3) I'm 71 now... my parents had a tandem with a sidecar for me and we'd go on tours round the Shropshire countryside mainly around R.A.F. Ternhill (mum and dad were in the R.A.F. they were married in 1949 in Casferite, Egypt.) I just about remember it. :) sad he didnt show Voks Electric Railway, which is the FIRST electric railway in the world .
Brightonian born and bred here 🙋those seagulls are proper mofos! Getting fish and chips is a must however, never on or near the pier unless you want to get dive bombed by a ton of them!!
The aquarium is the first in the world, absolutely stunning inside! Victorian architecture, a must see!!
Brighton was the place to go to be healed of many diseases and ailments. They used to believe drinking the sea water was healing in Regency times.
The Royal Pavilion was commissioned to be built for the Prince Regent to resemble the Taj Mahal!!
I really hope you have the opportunity to visit my hometown. Just don't forget to stop and look up at the architecture and history. Quite often people are so consumer by what's in front of their eyes, they don't see the tops of the buildings which are stunning
xxx
hi from London. I am visiting Brighton on Monday!!😃😃😃
Brighton is the home of "ren" a great british singer/artist. his song "hi ren" is a masterpiece imo & worth checking out. no copyright on his music.
Oh yes he is amazing, but make sure you are feeling mentally strong before listening to Hi Ren, it's visceral.
Ren is my favourite musician he is blowing up You Tube atm
Such a vibrant music scene coming out of Brighton
When you come to Brighton you must have a ride on the Volks Railway which runs along the beach just to the east of the Palace Pier towards Black Rock and The Brighton Marina. It is the oldest operational electric railway in the world opening in 1883.
When you come over here, as you are both military associated/minded, you need to check out Portsmouth (Pompey) and all the military/naval history that goes with it. Its not as pretty as Brighton but I'm sure you will love all the tradition and pomp of the dockyard, very historic ships and other museums. Its also still the home of the Royal Navy and home port to the 2 huge aircraft carriers. Boat trips are available around the harbour.
My home town. 😊
The City of Brighton & Hove comprises of two adjoining towns, Brighton was a working class town and Hove, where the large Regency Cream houses are was the upper class town. Brighton was the home of the film industry way before Hollywood at the end of the 19th century/early 20th. Chaplin made a few films there before going to the US. Only a couple of Brighton made films survive in the National Film Archive.
He failed to mention Volks Electric Railway, running along the beach, the oldest running in the world or the No Clothes Required section of beach, not isolated from the rest just a few signs warning people of it, the eastern end towards Blackrock. He didn't mention the Marina where some very expensive super yachts are moored.
Is always this foggy here. Of course not. Only when it's not raining 😮
I hope you come on a good day. Last time I went the weather was so bad, that my sea front hotel had to keep the front door shuts due to strong winds! That was back in March (I was there for a Supernatural convention so I was indoors most of the day)
I've been to Brighton many times and it's only about an hour from London on the train. So I'd recommend visiting near your London visit - and there's no need for a car at this point in the trip.
One thing he didn't mention - the walk from the sea front to the town centre - it's quite hilly and you'll get a good work out when walking back from up from the sea into town!
Last time I was in Brighton, my wife and I bought those ring doughnuts that you get, fresh-cooked, on the sea front. My wife had only taken ONE BITE when a gull landed on her head and used her forehead for leverage to pull the rest of the doughnut out of her hand. Got to respect that level of front. 😁
Just outside Brighton in Hove is the devil's Dyke, look up the mythology. Beautiful views and a great pub for food and drink on top. I used to drive down with friends and launch fireworks across the valley on Nov 5th. Lewis is fantastic for firework night entertainment. The whole town gets involved. Lewis is a little further along coast.
Had many a good day ( and Night !! nudge nudge wink wink ) in Brighton you will love it ladies
You'd really like Brighton. Very historical seaside resort. The pier and pavilion are very famous British landmarks. Lots of culture and festivals every year. Probably the most famous Pride festival in the UK
Ahh the british airways !!! Ive never been but seen you tubes of superstar DJs do rave nights 😮
Brighton Pavilion is way weirder on the inside than the out.
Banisters made out of cast iron that look like bamboo.
Some of the best chandeliers I've seen.
Love Brightons lanes.
Pride week is fabulous.
You should both watch sugar rush, it's a show based in Brighton. It's funny and the characters are great :)
I loved Sugar Rush!
It made me giggle a little when you said how long the pier is! I live in Southend-on-sea (just east of London) and we have the longest pleasure pier in the world! 2158 Metres! (Brighton is 525 metres)
All my family is from Brighton and my father was convinced that a shingle beach was better than a sandy one! If you head slightly further east to Rottingdean along the coast there a rock pools at low tide.
I love English Language - and taught it for many years - so thanks for the Elvis Dodgems vs Bumper Cars anecdote, which got me thinking and searching...turns out that Dodgems is a 1920s USA proprietary name (as "Dodg'em"), from the phrase "dodge them" while Bumper Cars is what the two US brothers who invented them named them. So now we know! Britain only got them in 1928 so I think both terms are US English and we here in the UK were told they were called Dodgems and have stuck with that! Oh, and a Flume (also leat or mill-leat) is a channel that is used to transport water from some source - such as a river - to the top of a waterwheel. This is used to direct water flow onto the blades of the wheel, allowing it to rotate. Love from Wales!
I've been on holiday to Brighton more times than I can count. Love the pier, love the Sea Life Centre (Aquarium), and the streets are quite nice too. Ate at a really nice Indian Restaurant there but can't remember what it was called. Bought a lovely lion sketch from one of the artists for my mum's birthday. Great place to go but probably not to live. That Queens hotel you saw is one I stayed in. I stayed in one of their apartments. Living room, kitchenette, bed room and en-suite. The sofa in the living room is also a sofa bed.
Brighton is amazing. It’s where ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. LOADS of tiny boutique shops. Lots of history. It’s a MUST for your list.
I live in Brighton at the moment and it is really beautiful. In the summer with nice weather the who city comes alive.
The street art is also second to none.
I absolutely love watching you lovely ladies! You make me laugh and I enjoy your content.. So Hi from Scotland.. keep doing your thing!
I'm from Brighton... you would love it! And the Seagulls will take your chips
I live 16 miles to the West of Brighton,in a town called Worthing, on the South coast of England. Great to see my stretch of the UK featured on your Brilliant videos. Would love to welcome you to the Seaside one day.
On the entrance to the pier there was and hope was the best place for rollmops. The best I have ever had.
If you like the pier check out the film Carrynon at your Convenience (1971) with plen4of dubble entendre and a section of the pier from 1971.
Thank you for all your wonderful videos, both of you. Live a few miles down the coast from Brighton. Enjoy your upcoming trip to the UK.
Brighton is fabulous, i love the North Laines, more relaxed and cheaper than the main Laines. Then you have the Downs to the north of the city, Devils Dyke is a great place to visit to see some amazing views of the countryside. I live in Bexhill, about 40 minutes to the East of Brighton, Hastings is the next town along and is also pretty cool. The last beach launched fishing fleet in the UK is situated in Hastings, in the Old Town under the cliffs. Recommend a visit there too, lots of creatives live in Hastings, musicians, actors, writers painters and potters etc.. look up pictures of Hastings Old Town and the net drying houses along the Stade, theyre well cool!!
The Fortune of War pub located on the beach is perfect for a Pimm's on a hot summers day.
Bohemia Brighton is a really cool Cocktail Bar where they set alight to the drinks!
Have a walk around the Brighton Lanes.
There is a very picturesque bus ride from Brighton to Eastbourne, where you travel over the Seven Sisters set of hills.
You can get to Brighton very easy using a Southern Train from London Victoria direct to Brighton. The journey will take around 1hr if I remember correctly. You can drive but it will take slightly longer.
The gulls will take your umbrella, then your ice cream!
Weekends are crazy busy and cost a lot more to stay. Book accommodation waaaaay in advance as all booked up and very expensive. Make sure to get as far as Kensington Gardens (in the Old Laines) and pop into a large second-hand vintage shop called Snoopers. Everyone (who knows) goes in there to find on the ground floor the vintage B&W chromatic photo machine - takes quality booth photos and they have a dressing up box outside it. Cycle or walk along the seafront as far as Hove around the area of Osborne Villas (that is the name of a road) ish. Lots to see on the way there. Great live music in various gig venues for a fun evening out.
The storm drain boat like groyne is where the river that goes through Brighton emerges used to be a overflow but now there is a massive water collection system in place instead . One reason why It is not recommended to swim near it.
Eclectic was the right word!❤
I've been on the Crazy Mouse it's a scream . Especially when it's windy 😃
I love your using Tims Videos. I love his channel! Thanks!
Hi Gals, I personally LOVE the retro clothes shops there, you will need a minimum weekend visit.
Thank you for doing a video on brighton I live really very near there so I been there a couple of times and Hastings as well 😊👏👍
I agree with the majority of the comments above. I can get a train directly there from north of London, and often go at a weekend, I've been popping down there for more than thirty years.
I feel that the Lanes have become a bit too focused on jewellery, there used to be more antique shops years ago.
For the antiques and street market vibe you must visit the North Laine area. Note the actual spelling.
It's just to the west of the Pavilion around North Road. Quite close to the railway station.
Enjoy!
I love that rollercoaster 😅. Always an extra bit of excitement when they look like you might die on them
😂
It's good to see my home town getting the media it deserves
I love Brighton. Its not far from me, and when I was young I'd be there clubbing of a weekend. I used to go most weekends for the pier and amusements. If you get a chance, you must visit the inside of the pavilion, it'll blow your socks off
Brighton is a very friendly town very accepting and jsut rather cool. Lived in Worthing where I worked for a while and would often get the train over for nights out. The shingle beach whilst having a lot of drawnback is actually something I dont mind to much. At least if you but food or have a picnic you dony get sand in it although the seagulls might try for a bite of food. Certainly advise visiting mid week
Another great video ladies. How about doing a reaction to Donald Campbell. He is still very well known today, even though he passed away in 1967 trying to break the world water speed record in his famous Bluebird jet hydroplane boat. As he was approaching 300mph the craft flipped over backwards and he was killed instantly. There is famous black and white footage with Campbell narrating right up until the accident. His body was never found. In recent years someone recovered the wreck from the bottom of Coniston Water, along with some human remains. He was given a proper burial. Very sad but he is an absolute legend. All of his record breaking cars and boats were named Bluebird. His father, Sir Malcolm Campbell was a famous land speed record holder too. His father's cars were named Blue Bird (two separate words).
Love Brighton
Beach pebbles .
Like Usa states , ocean
Sand or pebbles .

Cool video. Brought back some fond memories of Brighton. Lived in Army quarters just outside in Uckfield back in the early 80's and used to bus there for days out as a treat. We bought our first albums together in Brighton, (me Sade and the wife Michael Jackson). We also carried an Amstrad HiFi system back on the bus, (lol) that had twin tape decks, so you could play one tape and record on the other, (you had to be silent during recording though) haha. Them were the days, and still together 41-years later, but living much further West along the South Coast.
You will love it there, but I would allow at least 2-days to visit, if possible.
Hello both, I teach at the University of Brighton although I live in a village 10 miles outside of Eastbourne just along the coast. You must have afternoon Tea at the Grand hotel its amazing, shop in the lanes and retire to the Grand for the afternoon. Eastbourne is another seaside town with its own pier and free to go on it as well. We have the air show every August and regular concerts with fireworks in the bandstand. I always think of it as Brighton's little sister.
There is also a Brighton Ont. Across the lake from Rochester NY.
