And remember, Idalia moved around 100 miles to the west of Tampa and Hurricane Force wind gusts never rewatched the Tampa Bay Area. I think this just shows how much wind direction and high tide matter more than actual winds. Those Cat 4 winds caused a massive storm surge and even though the winds were weaker by the time they reached Tampa, the initial strong winds out to sea plus the onshore flow and high tide plus the Supermoon. Just devastating.
This area (South Tampa) always floods. The occupants of those homes know exactly what to expect. But due to the look of prestige and wealth, they overlook the risk to live on this strip. Stupid to me.
Lived there for 5 years. EVERY time there was a storm Bayshore would flood. It was truly just a matter of time. The city never was able to build the type of drainage system that it would need to flush out the Bay being pushed by a storm surge. Those mansion’s definitely took some flood damage. Those are houses valued at over 10 Million dollars
I can afford to have a second home there. I’m not fat and unhealthy so warm weather don’t bother me. My Marco Island condo has great balcony views of our marina, beach, waterways, and Gulf but it is flood and hurricane resistant with push button shutters that cover impact resistant window and surround the balconies anyways.
Florida is a great place to VISIT, not live. I’ll take snow over this any day. What’s meant for some, isn’t for others. I couldn’t deal with this year after year. Pray those families can rebuild & move on.

Lived used to live in Tampa. Yes the street would flood frequently. But it NEVER was this bad. Obviously those mansions took flood damage. It’s kinda ridiculous to think this type of flooding is common because those rich people wouldn’t live there. Tampa itself hasn’t taken a direct hit in 100 years.
🙏Matthew 24:3-26 KJV 3 And as he (Jesus) sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Jesus is appearing soon for the Church! Titus 2:13, 1 Thessalonians 5:9, Revelation 3:10, Romans 5:9 etc.❤

Everything you said is true. We are about to experience it again. Here comes hurricane Helene 😮🤦🏻♂️

You're very judgemental. You don't know their minds or hearts as to why they live there . Rude.
A lot of these people use these as their second homes, they've got insurance policies and probably aren't too worried about it
500 stories on Bayshore flooding like usual but nothing on the folks along the Alafia with 2ft if water inside.
@@levans3447I don’t think you read the comment right. This person was speaking about themselves. JS
Does Tampa Ybor area flood? I’m looking at the area but not sure😢Why is it so expensive if THIS can happen 😭
It’s happened all time there when raining season in South Tampa. I’ve seen it 20 yrs.

There goes your insurance premiums across state lines.🤔
Probably Right
Tampa area dodged a more serious & deadly bullet by very little
I hate it when my multi-million dollar home floods. It's agony having to live on my multi-million dollar yacht while repairs are done!!
They not scared of the water as far as sharks and alligators??
Why do people keep moving to Florida??? This has got to get old. Plus it's too hot.
Plus, there's DeSantis. And white extremists gunning down Black people in Jacksonville.
Bc they are ignorant! Don't plan for future.

@@blackworldtraveler3711 Yeah, the home that I grew up in South FL was "hurricane-resistant" until Andrew hit.
6 inch lifted truck now required by law in West Florida
“He’s clearly compensating for something”
“Yea, I bet he’s only got 4 inches of floodwater at home”
Come on that’s right in the beach of course some flooding
I'm very sorry that the people of Florida have to endure this, but at least the story got Trump off of the front page for a day.
That’s why rich people own more than one house 🏠

The price you pay to live in paradise.... not the first and won't be the last storm.
Hopefully this will clean up the racism.
I think I saw an insurance company getting on a bus and leaving Florida.
The houses are dry!!!🙏🎗️
...its like visiting memories...😄
Now that is truly waterfront property; ask and you shall find.
If Florida didn't have so many miles of shoreline, they could do what the Netherlands did--build dikes.
A Florida Shariff have warned people about reptiles in those flood waters.
Well if they get bit I bet they don’t go in again

Looking for on the ground men an women reporting, not fake news ...anyone got channels?

USA need new sea walls 😞
That levee is holding backthe whole bay
It's not holding back
It's holding in all day.
It’s actually just a street.

Doesn't that area always flood
