Welcome to the Letterman UA-cam Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. The language may strike you as quaint & flowery, the clothing comically lacey & ornate - but that’s how things were back in this colorful and now bygone era.
The pointless cutaway to Steve and his “parents” absolutely sent me
And Steve’s dad was played by a real life, Steve… Head, writer, Steve O’Donnell
@@thelettermanpodcastAnd his “mom” is Jude Brennan and neither one of them are old enough to be that kid’s actual parents
@@untexan was waiting for this reply. You get a gold star. Well done.
A funny Viewer Mail segment that had a surprise for Dave. Clever!
The cake in the garbage was a nice touch.
Dave can sing really well, if he puts his heart in to it.
When Felicia Collin’s was a guest on our show, she revealed that Dave actually has perfect pitch.
@@thelettermanpodcast No kidding?
@@petrolbokehlicious no kidding at all :) we can’t post links here, but are happy to direct you to it. If you look at our video list, episode 50 and 51 feature, Felicia Collins. Episode 50 ends with Felicia, revealing that Dave has perfect pitch, and episode 51 picks up at that very moment.
7:17 One of those really special moments on Late Night. It was something the entire family could watch together. Definitely worth staying up for.😁
So … you’re telling me that the letter writer is still out there somewhere?
Kathleen did a great job on the chuckwagon :)
Was that Dwight the Troubled Teen at the end there?
You are correct, sir. Paul’s assistant Chris Albers.
@@dongiller Thanks, Don! I appreciate your work.
Shecky the Gondolier!
Thank you for noticing that :-) we love our boy Shecky.
“It took us weeks to find a letter without a signature.“ Why did it have to be a real letter?
Steve Young and our host recently had a conversation about this exact subject. The writers had rules when it came to things like this. They wanted organic. So, for example, If they wrote a bit called ‘things I heard on the subway,’ The things written to support the piece would have to be legitimate things that were overheard on a subway, not clever retorts The writers made up.
dave king of late night
"Hey! Hey! Billy! I'm talking to you!"
Now we need "Dress Cool".
Dave won that bet!💰
On the program tonight, the lovely and talented Phoebe Cates, actress and comedian Carol Kane, and the Fresh Prince, Will Smith. Stick around for that, kids.
Wow, great video.
The accordion player should have been Weird Al!
The generic sounding but useful “National Council of Churches’ label would be retained.
Off. The. Wall!
Wow, Craig Kilborn.
