Great! Another issue I find important is aluminium has a certain amount of stress repetitions before it inevitably cracks and that means an aluminium piston head will inevitably crack/loose/break. I prefer POM or Polycarbonate piston heads better. Specially Polycarbonate piston heads are more sturdy, lightweith and mitigate the ramming stress on the gearbox better.

whats the spring limit on pom and polycarbonate piston heads? I have some of RA 2 o-rings and g&g for my toys. I asks this cause i have half overspin and double shots on semi, so i think 130 spring should be ok, or 140 and short stroke some tooth.

+1 for this comment. I have switched to plastic (POM) heads exclusively on cast/factory gearbox builds. Had many gearboxes fail previously, however since installing POM heads I am yet to have a single one crack.

You need to make the “music” louder - I am able to hear most of what you say - wih a bit of effort
Will the O rings in the Alu piston head protect from scratches ? Especially the dual O-ring models ?

It can protect from scratches with the dual O-ring models yes. but id still recommend the standard pom piston heads over the double o ring design (asg ultimate is a good option)

i use a maxx double oring piston head and have no problems but my gun only shoots about 40 rps max with no load. i did remove the bearing to remove a bit of weight because i had issues of which weren't actually related but i didn't put it back in cause i find it of no use

you may find you have to re lubricate it more often than a standard pom piston head.

@@nemtacairsoft8596 no not so much but then again i am using seperate greases so i regrease anyway cause they mix when i an swapping out parts

3:04 can you take a caliper and actually measure the diameter? The air seal is mostly done by the O-ring, that wearing might just be negligible.

I don't think that can really be fixed. One way or another material will be lost to friction. Doesn't matter if it's the alu head or plastic head.

I agree you will loose material one way or another. However you'll get much more longevity from a good pom piston head before it causes issues with the compression, from my experience .
