This is perfect! As our final project for drama me and my friends are making a working 6 foot tall puppet of Dain on his war pig/battle boar and we want to all be wearing dwarven braids when we present it. Thanks for this, I've been officially appointed group hair stylist and with this behind me I should not disappoint! :D
this is so creative! you make all the dwarfs hairstyles look like something one can actually wear in all-day life and they're all very pretty. i'm honestly quite impressed by this
Once again, fabulous. You are such a very good teacher. Definitely the only one I can follow! I freely admit I am useless with my hair, I have always had very long hair which I have worn in either plaits or a ponytail, thus have never learnt how to do any styles. Thanks to you and you alone, I can now do stuff with my hair. Very grateful
I am loving your videos! You have the same thickness and texture of hair as me and I've found it very helpful to watch how you create the hair styles. Usually on UA-cam I see girls with gloriously thick hair creating these styles and struggle to get it to look the same. All of that said you are very talented!
Thank you so much for this video (and all the other ones!) As a newbie to hairstyling Dori's hair looks terrifying, but I can't wait to try it out. :D Bombur's style looks lovely as well. :))
I love your channel. As a guy who needs to pull my hair back a lot I can fill my inner nerd and still be practical. LOTR and viking braids all in the same place. 10 out of 10!
Hey! I love how you edited this video. It was really helpful by putting a spot in the beginning for people to click on so we can just go to THAT specific hairstyle. That was super smart because that is so frustrating when I want to copy a style, I see the time where it starts in the comments...and I SKIP IT! GAAAAAAAAH! The links in the beginning are so helpful (except, of course, they never work on a tablet.phone. Sigh. That is always sucky.) I love how you've mixed hard styles, easy styles, intricate, plain, and styles that can be used on all types of hair. I'm just starting to get the fullness back in my hair thanks to Nioxin (thank you lupus for taking that) so I'm really excited to start trying some of the longer ones when my hair starts getting fuller! Right now I think I'll stick with the more simple ones! I hope school has been going well for you!
I wanted to do Nori's, but I recently got acrylic nails and I'm not used to them and I was on a time constraint. Instead I did a normal 3 braid, but it's still nice! Thanks for your tutorials!
I have to say I really love your videos because you have thin hair just like me, now I know how to do them without being disappointed with the results! Thank you!
This is another one of my hairstyle tutorials of yours great job on recreating all the dwarves looks from the Hobbit which another fantasy favorite movie of mine! 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your videos are amazing, thank you! Please consider doing some of the up-do's from The Paradise. They're gorgeous and I can't even begin to puzzle them out.
I look forward to trying these out. I can see myself rocking at least a few of them as a dude. I guess all I need now is a year more of hair growth... I would give my left foot for a Jean-Luke Picard inspired braided hairdo. The resulting cosplay would be intense. I think Star Trek (and the other sci-fi futuristic space shows) would be a good mine for male braided hairstyles. Keep the men's style videos coming! You're the only one on UA-cam I can find who does them.
Wow well where to start? I'm not even a Tolkien fan as such but you did that superbly. I have fallen in love with your hair, it's amazing! It's a gorgeous colour and you clearly look after it so well. I enjoyed learning about all the different nationalities of braids but a lady as pretty as you it was kinda weird when you were doing some of it around his 'beard' :-D You demonstrated and explained perfectly so you're not just highly talented self - hairdresser (and self hair seamstress with all that virtual 'sewing' together of the hair you did) but a brilliant explainer too. Wonderfully soothing video :-)
cool video, i will try some of these hairstyles on me if i can :P vampire diaries and the originals sometimes have really coll hairstyles that we can see in the flashbacks too, i also cant wait for your videos on the got season 5 hairstyles
Same basic way you do a 3 strand with the over under moves. Divide hair into 5 strands, take a stand from the right and go over and under until that part is fully on the left and keep doing that until you are done. It's awkward to do yourself I find.
Where did you get the beads you used in the Dwalin hair, if you don't mind me asking? I've looked for hair beads in stores but I can't find any. Love the video by the way!
Thank you so much for these tutorials. It gives me ideas on what to do with my long hair. I know you don't have bangs, but could you give me pointers on how to accomplish some of the braids that start at the temple? I have bangs with long hair and am still trying to figure out how to accomplish them.
With Bombur's inspiration, is it alright to make my bun low? My hair is kind of thick and I can't wear it too high or I'll get a weird little poof grouped around my neck (plus I don't use any chemical-based accessories or styling sprays/gels)
I tried to do Gloin, but I just can't get past the first damn step cause my hair just decides that it wants to dance around the band every time and gets stuck in my hair and I have to rip it out. Whyyyyy?!
now I'm imagining the dwarves braiding each other's hair... cute.
Awwwwwww
Awww 😂😂

Like honestly I'd wear that to a wedding

I am so grateful that someone with such impressive braiding skills is also into such awesome fandoms ♡
me sitting here ooing and awwing at these hairstyles while wearing a scrunchie XD
Attempted to braid my own hair..... Most intense forearm pain I've even experienced Jesus christ....
Fun fact (from a Flemish girl😂): Dutch braiding in Dutch is called ‘invlechten’
Actually, that's French braiding. Dutch braiding is called 'opvlechten'

I want you to do some of the eleven hairstyles, especially Tauriel's.
I just did Dori! It was really hard with my shorter hair so I had to modify it a little but I’m quite proud :D
I loved the Bombur look! Definitely giving it a shot.

I need a Bofur hat xD
I am definitely loving the adapted Balin hairstyle.

Mephetify he takes hours in the bathroom, and if he doesn’t like it, he redos the entire thing.
Love these! Thank you for figuring them all out, and then teaching us in a simple and direct manner.
The last one is just so pretty. Very unique and medieval'ish. Your braiding skills are phenomenal.
You make the braiding look so easy!
I'm just amazed how your hair looks good no matter which style you choose.
I love your braid Tutorials there so beautiful and helpful. Can you do a tutorial on the five braids. Thank you 😊
Brilliant! Each of them totally resembles the dwarf they're representing! Can't wait to try them out!!
Thank you! I did one of the hairstyles for a wedding and it was beautiful and comfortable
Bombur was my favorite. So elegant.
When your hair can turn from Dutch to English. Mind blown.
No, seriously tho I’m learning way to many new braiding styles today 😫😇❤️god bless you!
I would like some once upon a time hairstyles. But only if you like it and want to do it. =)
Anja Maus That was very polite of you :) I have them on my list, so I'd like to work them in sometime
I love your channel. As a guy who needs to pull my hair back a lot I can fill my inner nerd and still be practical. LOTR and viking braids all in the same place. 10 out of 10!
You remind me very much of Ginny Weasley. :) Also, amazing tutorial! I think your hair is very similar to mine, so these styles should work for me.
Thank you!! I did balin for play practice, and Everyone loved how simply, yet intricate it was!!!
This is really wonderful Shannon!! I watched the whole thing!
i love that you use correct terminology in your videos.

Wow well where to start? I'm not even a Tolkien fan as such but you did that superbly. I have fallen in love with your hair, it's amazing! Love your channel even if my hair is too fine for some of the styles! :) But love all the viking/medieval/fantasy braids, thanks so much!!
Could I not club the braids and use hair cuffs to cover the elastics? My favorites are the gloin, nori, and bombur styles.

Could you do Sigrid's hair from the Hobbit? I've always wondered what it was like
Beautiful hairstyles, thank you!!!
how in the world do you do a five strand braid
Same basic way you do a 3 strand with the over under moves. Divide hair into 5 strands, take a stand from the right and go over and under until that part is fully on the left and keep doing that until you are done. It's awkward to do yourself I find.

Where did you get the beads you used in the Dwalin hair, if you don't mind me asking? I've looked for hair beads in stores but I can't find any. Love the video by the way!
charmedforeternity here you go! www.etsy.com/shop/Dwarvendom
***** This is a late reply, but thank you so much for telling me :)
Thank you so much for these tutorials. It gives me ideas on what to do with my long hair. I know you don't have bangs, but could you give me pointers on how to accomplish some of the braids that start at the temple? Bifur's wasmy favorite!@

How do the beads stay in place?
I tried to do Gloin, but I just can't get past the first damn step cause my hair just decides that it wants to dance around the band every time and gets stuck in my hair and I have to rip it out. Whyyyyy?!
you are amazing ♥
