I'm primarily concerned with the Camelbak Hydration and what are the additional components required. If you could include the specific part number/name; that would help many of us that don't know. Wouldd it be acceptable to use any type of wet-vibes for when only adorning the mask for test (No CBRN situation) and only do a full cleaning (soapwater) after a case of a real situation ?
I plan to keep my mast in my car, which gets up to 100F+ in the summer and -30F in the winter. Suggestions on how to best store it? In an insulated grocery bag, then in an ice chest? Other? (Yes, it would be nifty if I had the self-discipline to take it in and out every day, but I don't. :) )
My CM-C6 works fine home office and a 30 th floor high rise location. I keep Cannisters in place if walking down 30 floors. Will experiment with child mask for dog. Recommend a hair cut and good shave especially in the field.
Thank You, I understand that a Clean shave is the optimal condition for a Clean seal when donning a gas mask. However, What about the use of a Divers hood. Lets say i am sitting at home and something happens but i forgot to shave that week or maybe i live a life style where i like to have a ZZ top beard. Would it be feasible to use said divers hood?
As the saying goes, your gas mask is only as good as your filter. So without filters there is no protection! Filter use time depends on a few factors, including atmospheric conditions, contaminant type, concentration, along with your breathing rate.
Hey there Pivot - it boils down to what's the fastest way to get the mask seated on a users face. Having the straps stored in this position on any mask shaves of precious seconds for quicker donning. It is really a users preference what works best for them, and what is the most comfortable and fluid motion of donning the mask - so give it a try and see which method works best for you. It's all about saving time in an emergency, so good luck!
I don't know what you do in America, but in Denmark military personel are tought to yell GA ! Instead of GAS ! (When gas has been detected) as the "S" in gas, would lead you to impty your lounges, having to draw on a new breath.

Love this. Honestly never thought about using Clorox wipes to clean a mask since the Army just does buckets of soapy water

Yes Army NBC training says stop breathing abruptly mask up immediately, exhale and negative pressure test.
