Vlad should have every game of the last two weeks of that season on UA-cam somewhere. He got hit in the head with a pitch, left that game, then hit another bomb the next day. Unreal. I f'ing love Gary Sheffield, but anyone that thinks he should've won the 2004 AL MVP is absurd.
Because in 2004 there was no clear AL MVP favorite everyday player to win it, I would have given the AL MVP to either Mariano Rivera or Joe Nathan. Im ok with giving the MVP to a bullpen pitcher since they are involved in late pressure situations most games.
Such a shame the 2004 Rangers couldn't hold on in the end and make the postseason. From 2000-2003, those four seasons the Rangers ended with a record of around 70-90 each season, that after the 2003 season, they just decided to trade all their stars and big contracts and rebuild starting in 2004. But surprisingly, the Rangers had a very good 2004 season, almost making the postseason, despite having no pitching, and competing against the Athletics-Angels-Boston rosters. At least Buck Showalter won the AL Manager of the Year with the Rangers in 2004. Truly sensational that he has won 4 Manager of the Year awards in his career (with the latest being this recent 2022 season).
Wow! these were my golden days of watching the Angels i never missed game

One of the greatest bad ball hitters ever.
He had a sensational swing to be one of the greatest in baseball. What a sweet batting stance.
His swing reminds me of Vladimir Guerrero Jr not sure why
He’s his son
Vladimir Guerrero Jr: Nah Fam My Swing Looks Nothing Like This I Kinda Can See Jonathan's Swing Looking Like Vladimir Guerrero's
YESSSS😍
Jesus Vlad.
How he kept that first HR fair is a mystery we’ll never find out. Looked like an off speed pitch way inside.
