My dad and I were sitting in the loge on the third base side at this game. I was 12 years old. He and I probably went to about 100 games when I was a kid and this one will always be my favorite. I’ll never forget hearing thousands of voices yelling “Hip hip, Jorge!” as we walked out through the corridors. Man I miss that old stadium.
My dad was pretty adamant about never leaving a game early. He always told me this story about a game that he missed a great comeback because his friends wanted to leave to head into Manhattan and go shopping. I don’t think he ever left a game early after that. He was as die hard as they come. But you’re right, a lot of people left early that game.
My first ever Yankees game. Hooked ever since ❤ I was there with my Yankees-from-birth cousins, and I remember the boos in the 2nd. People leaving when we were 9-0, but there was no chance we were going anywhere for the next four hours. Simply amazing, and I got three fantastic photos of Posada's walk-off.
I miss this so much. I never knew how good I had it as a kid growing up with the dynasty! Watching these videos sometimes feel like a beautiful soft dream, God bless y’all!
I remember this game like yesterday. I was a Senior in High School, I lost my virginity that same night with my then girlfriend. The Yankees were getting pummeled 10-3 early and I told myself, meh, it will be one of those games I guess. I left the house to go to her house which was only a 5 minute walk. After finishing my romantic endeavors I walked back home, first thing I see walking back to my room is Jeter's 3 run bomb to make it 10-8. Then the come back was complete later that night. Memories....
We were sitting next to DJ’s GF in Box 1 behind HP. At the time $115 for a tix seemed to much to get up & leave. What a treat as a result. Best sport in the world because until recently had no clocks. ⚾️🔥 My pregnant wife answered a trivia math related question (aided by hubby) easy for an accountant diehard Yankee fan Gehrig times Mantle minus DiMaggio equals? Mattingly, which was our 2nd choice for a name of my princess that was born 9 exact months to the day.
Texas had some really good players. Shocked they didn't go deeper into the playoffs until 2010. Shows you in Baseball it takes more than just a couple guys to build a championship roster
Never seen an infield move so swiftly at 15:03 Arod comes in for the bunt leaving 3rd open so posada and jeter are both running over to cover the bag. Im thinking of all the clips of base runners taking advantage of the shift
Wow Jim Kaat made one of the most sickening comebacks ever (if you're a Yankees hater) so much more tolerable than Michael Kay would have with his TV-gasm ("they come aaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllll the way back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!")
the scoreboard layout yes used to use until 2009 gives me nostalgia lol
It was the best one! Why would they get rid of it? :(

Did you ever think about leaving the game early? You must have been so glad you didn't. I'm sure you saw many who did.

Tex blasted posada at the plate. Posada was one tough 🍪
It feels so weird seeing Tex playing *against* us lol.
Stranger still, Tex was with the Yankees when they came from a 9-0 deficit to beat Boston 15-9.
@@generatorx yeah and he put on a hitting clinic that day too
Yankees fans love and appreciate Jorge posada
I’ve never seen this game before. What a hidden gem! Thanks Baseball Cinema!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Saw this game live
That collision at home plate was so old school 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 full circle tex comes wins a run with the yanks

Jeter was the Captain, Jorge was the Lieutenant
I miss this so much.

For real
I was at this game and I remember it being the most nerve wrecking and exciting game ever

Remember this game very well! I still miss Kaat and Singleton calling Yankee games!
This game, ibanez tie and walk off vs Boston late '12 and O's comeback early '17 best 3 regular season games I've ever been to!
My dad and I were at this game. We stuck around. It was epic.
Jim Kaat is my favorite broadcaster ever and its easy to see why
These were real champs , not like current washed down version
Can’t even claim the title of the empire anymore. Yankees are a shadow of what they used to be.
Texas had some really good players. Shocked they didn't go deeper into the playoffs until 2010. Shows you in Baseball it takes more than just a couple guys to build a championship roster
They never had any pitching
even mo was getting lit up. must’ve been something about the air that night.
I was there. unbelievable finish
Hip Hip Jorge!
Mark Teixeira future yankee who knew.
Tex was meant for those pinstripes.
@@makatron yes he was. Not easy saying this way better then Giambi good hitter but he could not play first base. Mark Teixeira a great first basemen.
@@johnnygunzfilmbuff7821 Tex was a natural first baseman
@@makatron Absolutely he was born to be a first basemen.
This was also the time baggy jerseys were the style 😂
I was in the bleachers for this game!! It was my first Yankee game at Yankee stadium
I was here in left field took my gramps to the game for his birthday on his birthday money well spent
Boy, Melky looked bad in left field. You would think he was on the visiting team and unfamiliar with the field, the way he played.
Back in my day 😢
This made me tear up.
What a game
I mean, that’s as good of a game u can find especially with the amount of offense
wow i never seen this game before. what a fuckin game!!! miss these yankees lol
I watched this game.
Moving runners up and scoring runs with sacrifice flies is lost on the current Yankees team...god I miss the old Yankees lineups 1995-2012
Basic baseball is lost on the current Yankee team.
These mid 2000 teams had atrocious starting pitching. No wonder they got bounced in the first round year after year.
Never seen an infield move so swiftly at 15:03 Arod comes in for the bunt leaving 3rd open so posada and jeter are both running over to cover the bag. Im thinking of all the clips of base runners taking advantage of the shift
I put this in the background and was like "wait Tex is hitting against us?"
Chacon was a good pitcher for the Yankees until this game
Yeah, he went on the DL right after this game and was never the same again.
He was okay in 2005 in 2006 wasnt consistent after that and not a solid.
i remember Chacon and Wang along with Mariano were the reasons the pitching staff held its own in 2005
@@hmhm856 You're forgetting that Aaron Small went a remarkable 10-0.
Blast from the past: Shawn chacon
Posada always legend
What’s crazy is chacon & small carried them this year
Yep!⚾
Still feel kinda weird seeing Tex not wearing pinstripes.
Good ol fashion Texas Rangers pitching
I caught the wilkerson homerun and threw it back that night!
That was a Yankee Team! All contributed.
What a hitting performance by jeter and Tex
Man can’t believe that play at home used to be legal... great rule change
Did any pitcher on either side have a clean inning in this game?
Wow Jim Kaat made one of the most sickening comebacks ever (if you're a Yankees hater) so much more tolerable than Michael Kay would have with his TV-gasm ("they come aaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllll the way back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!")
Agree completely. Announcers do not need to scream and go over the top all the time
Starting rotation from 05 to 08 was mediocre for the yankees...
That LF playing for the rangers got a weak ass arm
An outfield of Cabrera Damon and Old Bernie is 🤢
Better than the current outfield we have now. At least these guys could produce runs.
