I hear '60s bands' influence in a lot of their music yet it still sounds fresh and new. This song also reminds me of something that would be on a '60s movie soundtrack.
Well, the band did mention that they were listening to The Beach Boys a lot of the time while they were touring so it makes sense why this kinda sounds like them.
Saw you walking in the daytime On a stomach so bare Sunny, my life's gone easy To tell the truth, I don't dare Met your mother in an early Couldn't focus on a thing Suddenly my life was clouded The phone would all but ring Until a ring was surely called for (Until a ring was surely called for) Until a ring was surely called for (Until a ring was surely called for) Until a ring was surely called for (Until a ring was surely called for) Until a ring was surely called for Afraid I couldn't make the cut, boy And it makes me very sad You'd sooner draft me as a soldier Then you'd have me for a dad Into a dream I was tilted Into a dream I fell Suddenly my life's gone easy Where I was I can't tell Now I don't even see them Now I don't even see Happy's living in a closed eye That's where I like to be Where I was I can't tell Where I was I can't tell Where I was I can't tell Where I was I can't tell Where I was I can't tell Where I was I can't tell Where I was I can't tell (Met your mother in an early) Where I was I can't tell (Couldn't focus on a thing) Where I was I can't tell (Met your mother in an early) Where I was I can't tell (Couldn't focus on a thing) Where I was I can't tell (Met your mother in an early) Where I was I can't tell (Couldn't focus on a thing) Where I was I can't tell (Met your mother in an early) Where I was I can't tell
I dissagree, loads of there tunes remind me of early oasis stuff, they seem to have a cocky dont give too much of a shit edge just like oasis did in the early 90s, he may sing in an irish accent but i think they have a similar vocal style, definitely not oasis's antithesis
Love the band , seen them loads plus have tix for UK and Europe next year, like the new album but I just can’t get into this track at all. Less than a day into the release and it’s already getting skipped.
Brendan Sutton there’s so much better music out there mate. People act like these guys are the 2nd coming off guitar music but there are better more interesting more creative bands playing week in week out in Melbourne - well not at the moment cos of covid but you know what I mean. Look up Tropical Fuck Storm or Total Control and u will see what I mean.
To be fair i've thought a lot of there songs sound oasis'y too, even on dogrel, its his vocal i think, more than the band, likes to droan on, its a great thing in my opinion, pumping out amazing and original tunes best band since oasis...maybe
"you'd sooner draft me as a soldier than you'd have me for a dad" idk why that line hits me so hard
"Happy’s living in a closed eye
, That’s where I like to be". That hits me deeply as in too accurate
Out of interest, how would u explain your own interpretation of those lines?

The way I'm reading "Best song on the album" in the comment section of every song...
The whole album is a masterpiece, that's why!
I heard this song when I needed to
Same
These Irish Lads make some great new unique style punk rock, or whatever you want to call it. Wish I could see them live, damn this virus!
This is beauty.
There's something Twin Peaks alike on this one.
Totally can see this in a Lynch movie
This gives me the chills.
tears will be shed for this one live
brilliantly. melancholic ,beautifully sad.
Perfect song for this hot summer day
Oh yes. But also for rainy october evenings, I'd suggest to try next year
'Happy's living in a closed eye.
That's where I like to be'
Standout track on the album for me, pure emotional devastation & top tier lyrics
beautiful and the strings are heavenly
Ennio Morricone with a dubilin drawl.
This is the best piece of music iv heard in a long long time thank you ✌✌✌
Delicia de música❤️
Spooky Brain Wilson 'Smiley Smile' era vibes abound here. Niiiiice.
I think this is my favourite on the album.
I can hear some Blur vibes here.
Graham Coxon :D
and maybe with a bit of...Ian Brown too
@@theWARMJET Ian Brown? In what sense?
@@crankyoldfart maybe its because the accent
they sound just like themselves
When they do that melodies with their voices it reminds me to beach boys, beautiful 💜

Melody? This sounds like the water going out of the bath
Ew
Perfect song to listen to today ☀️
Very Nirvana🎶💕
I'am hyped.
Soddenly 😂 love your Irish accent ❤️

Afraid I couldn't make the cut, boy
And it makes me very sad
You'd sooner draft me as a soldier
Then you'd have me for a dad
Into a dream I was tilted
Into a dream I fell
Suddenly my life's gone easy

Melody Reminds me of nico for some reason
Your voice sounds like defiance and love.
Hint's of miss america by blur, not a bad thing
Def
That's exactly what I thought when I first heard the song, I wonder if it was intentional
Got that too, also check out Syd Barrett's Terrapin
Both awesome songs
Other generic band: "We need a guest rapper"
Fontaines D.C.: "String section!"
Like a beatles record
The guitar on this is very Sorry -esk :)
❤
Music from inside a cave 😎
Erm this band is the total antithesis of Oasis !!Suggest people look towards Bunnymen first two albums,Whipping Boy ,VU etc etc

I hear Oasis too- or some other crap britpop. Massively overrated band
@@joshdurham4922 stop sharing your awful opinions on all their songs. People like their music and there's no need to keep chatting rubbish about it
Comparing them to Oasis is like comparing humans to chimps, they're not inspired by Oasis they just share the common ancestor of 60s music.
Bit of Badlamenti
👍👍👍👍
Wire influence
brazil ;)

Reminds of a Nick Drake song…
Julee Cruise-esque

Is he deliberately singing off key ? U know, to be punk and all that? Or is it just awful?
For not liking this song you sure did comment a lot 😂
@@ajmartinez8434 u got me there 😂
It’s brilliant actually
Actually his pitch is pretty good to my 🦻 and I was told I have perfect pitch
most overrated album of al time
Totally agree- they sound like some sort of sub par Brit pop leftover band trying but drowning in their influences
All image no imagination
Lmao it came out 2 weeks ago
