Mine arrived all the way from Austrailia today!! 😊 Just a very short run up and down the road in them so far. Looking forward to putting some miles on them. Feels very comfy and like it can be a great long run shoe.
I really like my Hyperion Max 2s. They are very versatile and I can do easy paces through faster paces. They are also very comfortable on my feet, but I typically get along great with Brooks' shoes and I don't like super soft midsoles. I don't like running in the Ghost because of the 12 mm drop, but these are my do-it-all shoe. I mix it up with the Adidas Adizero SL2s. You are definitely correct in that they feel like a Hoka Mach X, but to me are more comfortable on foot than the Mach X.
Thank you for this review and your previous one on the Hyperion 2. Based on what your reviews, I'm leaning more towards the Hyperion 2 at the moment since I like more ground feel and non-plated shoes.
Looking for a daily to replace my novablast 3 would you recommend these ?
Any thoughts on this as a marathon race at 8:30 pace?
Biggest shock with this shoe is realising your standing right on the tpu plate. There's no foam at all between your foot and the plate in some spots so there's some serious hot spots I don't know why they couldn't have put a few more mm of foam on the plate it's a pretty miserable experience
Is Hyperion 2 or max 2 wider in the toe box?
Thank you. This is the first review I’ve seen with a shoe bend. Was worried it would be too rigid. How would you say this compares to the speed 4?
@@jamescushing7704 I run in both regularly. I prefer the Hyp Max 2 for most paces. It’s a stiffer shoe than the speed 4. The foam is firmer and more resilient (but I think it feels more responsive too)

@@jamescushing7704 I just completed a 17km in them this morning. For me, they are better than the speed4 for long distance. Speed 4 is more prone to bottoming out for me.

@@Marsbar2024 I’ve been out for 1 run so far (10mile). The rocker geometry is almost identical. The foam is better - more resilient and with more immediate response (bounce back). The upper is very good so it’s easy to get good lockdown. My size tens are a tiny bit shorter in length than I’d like and I could have (possibly should have) gone half size up. This is a superior shoe to the kinvara pro. Feels similarly protective but lighter and snappier. Foam is bouncier, less sink in. Less of a drag.
@WarneysWorld thanks for a great response! Must admit you've pretty much sold it to me. Is it narrower in the forefoot and toebox? Or about the same?
@@Marsbar2024 my feet are pretty wide and they feel fine to me. I’d say they are similar to the kinvara pro for width. If anything the KP was more narrow for me
