+Scott Adler Well, Morocco is very different from other Arab states because more than 80% of its population is Berber and being arabized since 1950 (end of French protectorate). They were much more friendly with Jews than Arabs because they lived with Jews before Arabs came to Morocco. They were also some Berbers who converted to Judaism before Islam and mixed with Jews. That's why Jewish people from Morocco are very much related to Morocco, even if they are now in Israel or Zionists.

The suffering from war and ethnic cleansing/refugee flight has gone on for three generations and continues. I pray that we somehow move beyond this.

Tomer Yosef is a fucking genius. This video has everything, from the biblical story line to the funky trios of boys and girls having fun while their cool grandma rejoices. Also, I wonder if a sentence like "He dared to eat but not be satisfied" would pass in modern Yemen.
I realized many years ago that music is the best pathway to finding world peace. Music brings people together, to eat and talk, to have a drink, to tell stories and to dance. I am in, from, and stuck in America; the radio here is all the same, and the music is also all the same, tired, repetitive, boring. I must seek out the music of the world, it's not played here. Peace to us all.

No, it's Jewish Arabs. An Arab is a Semite whose first language is Arabic. A Hebrew is a Semite whose first language is Hebrew. Arabs can be Muslims, Christians, or Jews. Just like how Hebrews were Jews and some were Christians.
+Yousef Al-A'ssaf well then they are hebrew's. because arabic is not there native language. but I think arab is an ethnicity originating from suadi arabia syria and egypt.

I cannot express how happy it makes me to read these positive comments! The musical culture (and other aspects of culture as well) shared by Muslims, Jews, Christians and others in the Middle East and North Africa is rich, beautiful and dynamic. I hope there will be more sharing of ideas and the joy of music between artists and audiences.
The suffering from war and ethnic cleansing/refugee flight has gone on for three generations and continues. I pray that we somehow move beyond this.
literally was thinking the same the comments are so nice!
3 generations? Muslims ethnically cleansed Jews for 1,400 years now. Still do, especially in Yemen TODAY. Also, holy land wars went on for thousands of years too. Get Educated.
@@rinan4058 My Jewish friends from Morocco and Egypt disagree, but you do you.
@@davidwright1011 and my Morrocan and Jewish friends, which reflect 99.9 percent of Morrocan and Egyptian friends, disagree with you. Your tokenism doesn't validate you. The 3 Jews left in Egypt don't negate how Gamel Abdel Nasser, whose grandparents immigrated to Egypt from the Gulf, signed the document expelling and disposing 99% of Egyptian Jews. IT also doesn't negate the same order Ghaddafi signed for LIBYAN Jews, including my Libyan aunt. #pathetic gentilesplainer

Just to be clear - these women are jewish Israelis from yemenite decent. Look it up if you not sure.
This music shows we are confident enough to be proud of our arab roots. Im just saying.. just something for people to think about.
+AdilElMaghribi i dont know about him, but i'm also a yemenite-iraqi-libyan mix up, like a lot of the israelis.

Love of my heart, my eyes
It is a wonder who has set you against me
He dared to eat but not be satisfied
And as the dawn rose
My love got upset and left running
My love got upset, o’ people!, and I am left unknowing
Love my of heart, my eyes…
My love has made my eyes cry
He rose and left me
And there is no other love like him
Love of my heart, my eyes…
Love of my heart, my eyes
A year and a half has passed and he has not returned to me
O’ people, he has left and driven me mad

To whom can I bemoan that will understand me?
To whom can I cry that will pity me?

Greetings to the Jewish Arabs from a Muslim Arab.
Shalom brothers.
Jews from arab counrties not jewish arabs. arabs and jews are cousins, not the same.
+Yousef Al-A'ssaf and Jews come from Judea not from Arabia.
KingpinEX
Again, you didn't understand me.
The origin is one, Hebrews and Arabs are both the sons of Sam, son of Noah.
It's the language that decides what is your identity.
Jews in Yemen, Iraq, Egypt, and Morocco are Arabs.
