My great thanks for this videos, we just had a big storm in Brisbane Australia which pointed out a very broken tile above the toilet extraction fan (which got totally soaked), I had no idea how to do it, thanks to your video, it's now replaced and ready to go.
Thank you sincerely, I’m autistic and have been working through renovating my house. During the disassembly of the scaffold for the main roof re-felt, I cracked a tile with a long pole. I struggle tackling jobs unless I know everything that I need to do. This being English and expertly explained, has totally put my mind at rest🥰🥰🥰😆😭💪

Thank you so much, just got home and a tile right next to a velux window has slipped down. After watching this video going via the safety of the velux window with just my arms outside I pushed the above tile up, slid up the loose tile and screwed it back down followed by pulling back the tile above. Sorted!. The original nail for some reason wasn't long enough, the long thin screw worked a treat.
Another great video! Thank you for taking the extra time to make these, you've saved me a load of time and money as i have a better understanding on how to approach tasks. Very much appreciated mate!

We've tried for a week to get in touch but all means of communication have failed so now I have to source replacement tiles and do it myself before the rain comes next week 😡.
Thanks for the video. I know this is an old video and may not get a reply: When taking the nail out why didn't you push back the tile above out of the way? Also if you take a nail out should you look to put a nail back somewhere?

Was wondering if they're all nailed in how do you get the last nail back in? I suppose if they're nailed into the little wood risers any leaks would run down gaps in that over the paper if I left left one nail out but wouldn't feel comfortable leaving that hole.

If the tiles can be pulled out then what is stopping them from falling off. I was under the impression that the tiles are interlocked to each other but obviously they are not in the video.
They can only be pulled out, when the tile above is lifted. They have a ridge, which sits on the slate batten, then the weight of the tile above holds it down 👍

Storm Eunice loosen some tiles. Roofer came and fixed it in less than 5 mins. Cost over £100. Then he said my tilea arent nailed down. Its a new build!!
The quality of some new builds is shocking!
Great help thanks
Glad it helped 👍
Very useful info ;-)
Hi, I've got a tile that needs replacing , when I get someone to look at it what kind of price am I looking for so I know if I'm being ripped off ?
No idea, sorry.
I only ever do jobs on my own properties.
Due to storm damage, I need to replace a tile that is directly below a velux window. Obviously I cannot push any tiles back as described in the video. Any suggestions?
I'm not sure about that, sorry.

Hi, Great video! I have to replace the underlay felt on the bottom 2 rows. Any advice?
It's not something I have ever done, but if I were doing it I would definitely get a scaffold erected.
Best of luck with it ;-)
@@ultimatehandyman cheers! I'll let you know how i get on :)
Get a trust worthy roofing company to do it properly
Do you recommend leaving tie downs , down on a concrete roof?
Sorry, I'm not sure about that. We don't have concrete roofs in the UK on domestic properties.
