The photos of the house from the previous owner look fine. Nicer than many elderly people's homes. If this person can't believe the old lady was living in the house in that state, she'd be pretty shocked to see how many people live. She'd think my house was a tear-town.

Simple, minimalistic and beautiful interior design

I think the narrative around the former owner of the house was terribly disrespectful. The whole point of MCM is history.

Really heartbreaking to hear gentrification described this way. Ladera Heights has been an affluent Black American neighborhood for decades. Really tragic to hear that White American families are waiting for people to die in order to engage in bidding wars. Really struggling to focus on the commentary.

I totally understand. I’m originally from Chicago, and on Division St. a perfectly beautiful, new Mexican bakery was torn down to make way for a bank!!! Division St. is unrecognizable from when I was a kid. Many gaudy buildings sprung up without considering the aesthetic of the older buildings. Of course, the properties were undervalued and so were bought very cheaply. Good news, though, in Englewood, a south-side neighborhood has been experiencing urban renewal. The long-time residents who are African-American, decided to stay and improve their neighborhood. When my husband and I return for a visit in August, I want to visit some of these Chicago neighborhoods and experience the vitality.

I decided not to watch the rest. Don’t like the owner or her house.

This video was on the main channel over a year ago and it got such negative comments that I’m surprised it’s here again.

I agree, the commentary didn’t start in the right way.

Homeworthy released this exact home tour a year ago and she got a ton of bad feedback. I'm kind of surprised they tried to release it again. Maybe hoping people would like it/her more this time around?

I just feel a bit sorry, this architecture is clearly Mid-Century Modern, and it seems to me that the renovation basically ignored it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautifully decorated, but this decor could be done anywhere; this home deserves Mid-Century Modern furniture, lamps, etc. a missed opportunity I guess.

"You had to wait for someone to die or go to a nursing home to buy their house." This is so ignorantly distasteful and full of absolute incorrect knowledge of how she would know how one would come about an unfortunate event of ones passing. Please Homeworthy, this is not worthy of your channel. This is an embarrassment of all other true designers who have taste.

It really wasn’t true to its roots, this renovation. Feels forced. Missed opportunity.

That's right, I saw this horrible and insensitive piece already.
