Don't be too hard on yourself about Luke. He was never meant to be a hero. He had a 13 wk contract as a seedy criminal, running a disco as a front for the mob. He was supposed to be a hit man. Last, but not least, he raped Laura. That always bothered TG a lot. He didn't like how Luke got away with such a despicable act, and became some sort of anti-hero. He was just such a good actor, and Gloria Monty was such a good producer, somehow people sympathized with him and forgave him, like Laura did. But he wasn't originally intended to be likable. And many times, he's not.

He was always berating her for some abuse of trust or another. There was barely at romance between them at all. Particularly in comparison with Robert and Holly.

Both Luke & Holly were cloak & dagger junkies… they had a great fondness for each other; all relationships aren’t the same… she got from Luke what she needed at that time in her life and Robert, as fate would have it, gave her what she needed at this point in her life… we can’t compare the loves because they were with two different men at two different seasons in her life… also, NO ONE compares to Luke, like it or not he has a charisma (like Sonny) that intoxicates-for lack of a better word-women. Remember, the ONLY reason she was with Robert was because Luke was thought to be dead…

But it also wasn't long before he was trotting along up in the mountains, looking to be in good spirits, none the worse for wear. Then, he catches a glimpse of Holly, skinny dipping in a lake. Suddenly, it's like, Laura who? I remember feeling like he got over Laura really quickly once he took just one look at Holly. Luke & Laura were supposed to be the greatest couple in soap history. How soon we forget, Luke!

I love the part where they lived in Texas, and Luke was in trouble in Mexico. He had a beard and he was so hot. Then Laura tells him that she’s pregnant at the end, which would be Lucky. He never looked at any other woman, the way he looked at Laura. When he got pissed at her for bringing up Laura, that should’ve told her right there that he was never going to love her the way he loved Laura I just don’t want to know what happens on later down the road. I’ve seen so many comments about it. I just rather watch them, young and in love in together. Actually, I did see when Lulu was born but after that, I never watched anything else. I just saw her birth looking it up on UA-cam. So that’s my happy ending for them.

Me either. I was watching the show when that happened and honesty was appalled that it became a love story. Tony Gear was a great actor or it would not have worked but I was glad they showed the darkness in Luke.
I really hope that this is a time that soap history can be rewritten so Ethan can be Robert's as he should be. I'm praying that the Holly & Robert story can be properly closed.
Ethan should be Luke and Laura's son. The result of that "terrible night" During her exam to determine if she was pregnant her embryo was stolen by Dr. Hotchkiss in cahoots with Scott Baldwin. Once again Luke could be the father of Laura's first born child. Luke isnt dead at all. Maybe he has been off somewhere finding out the truth about Ethan's real mother and Scott's role. This is a soap after all. Anything can happen. 😮😢
shaquana hyatt Just curious … why …. that tarnished both pairings of Luke and Laura and Robert and Holly {also she was in a coma at the supposed time of birth so she wouldn't remember it … but that's another issue that was wrong about the storyline 🤨 } Just because he had a personality like Luke's didn't necessarily mean he had to end up being Luke's son to have him remain on the show and continue interaction with Luke.

I'm probably in the minority of Robert and Holly fans in that I don't particularly want Ethan to be a Scorpio as long as they change who his mother is because again history wise Holly was in a coma at the time - frame they put Ethan's birth in. Regarding Robin, I have never believed that she is Robert's biological daughter. That was a conclusion that he jumped to in 1985 and Anna went with it. Her showing up right after Holly left town was just too convenient. The 1990-92 storylines can easily be used to show that she is Faison's daughter.
