My favourite Karpov game is Chandler vs Karpov from the 1983 TV tournament in Bath. Actually, that would be my Christmas wish for this year, Mr King :-)

Appreciation for Karpov’s chess style took a long time coming - but now so satisfying. His tactical play reminds me of harrier pairs sorting things out to deadly effect on the moors.

Great analysis! Funnily enough, this is very much how Carlsen plays. If one shows this game without telling me the name of the players, Magnus would definitely come to mind!

The move I like the most in this game is 20.b3!. It is preventing the queen from going to a4, supporting c4 and removing the pawn from b2 so it is not hanging later. So many accomplishments by a small pawn move,:)

Thank you for this videos. As a suggestion, you could analysis the games of Anatoly Karpov's Best Games book, one game each week, you end up eventually covering the whole book. Tha would be beautiful, so valuable, and something I believe no other GM level commentarist is doing on UA-cam. And of course it also aplies for Bobby's 60, Tal's best games, and basically any game collection of the greats.

it's amazing to see how by such simple means Karpov crushes his opponents : playing his bishop , queen and night back and forth , a few pawn moves and that's it!
