- My biggest interest is actually... the Legend of Zelda. Specifically Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Thought I'd make a video showing the parallels I've recognized between these Ghibli movies & TotK trailers. Please enjoy. :)

*important character* turning into a dragon, while the hero rides it, is a spirited away reference
yeah i looooved the similarities the ending had to spirited away! it's cool how now that the game's actually out, more connections like this can be made.
also, the light dragon's head/eyes are just like a golden dragon head treasure seen briefly in Castle in the Sky
@@TheBlueGoldenHawkYou're right. I've seen that movie so many times so I know exactly what you're referring to
In Nausicaa there is a Montser in the forest that look like a monster in the Zelda underwold. Actually the underworld of Totk took a lot from the forest of Nausicaa!
Seeing this after the stream where this was mentioned lmao and now I feel silly. The catch scene by the clocktower in Kiki's Delivery Service could also totally be a reference. Laputa's exposed roots were also probably inspiration for the exposed roots on the sky islands. You have such a good eye!
thank you!! hah yeah i'm best at making connections between things (especially visual connections) and i love doing it.
Just watched Castle in the Sky yesterday and I thought "omg this is so Zelda TotK".
Right?
I noticed buts of similarities in lots of Studio Ghibli films, not just Castle in the Sky which is my favorite
Beautiful
Passionately crying over this
Hdjxndjjdjehdds I love this so much
thank youu I'm glad you liked it!
Such a shame that TotK completely betrayed the philosophies of those movies. For starters, Ashitaka's arm is a horrible curse of power, Link's is... a toy.
What? It's not the cursed arm that is a toy, the curse reduces you to the base stats and Rauru is the one who helps you by giving his arm that's a "toy"
@TheBlueGoldenHawk So basically the curse doesnt matter
@@chiffmonkey it's used as a narrative reason for why Link gets reduced to base health/stamina. As for anything else, I haven't finished the story, so I don't know if it factors in later on
