    I have some of these growing this year along with several other types of melons that I mixed up together and planted to grow vertically up a cattle fence panel arched trellis. The vines have grown all the way up and crossed to both sides. There are LOADS of small melons all over place. Some of them I suspected were Kajari melons but I wasn't sure because this is my 1st year growing them and I did not know what they looked like when small, young and unripe. Thanks to this helpful video I was able to identify which ones are the Kajaris. Thank you for this! I'm loving the happy, upbeat, groovy island music too 😃

      Welcome! Enjoy the fruits of your labour. Beware of aphids. They love to attack all these melon plants.

    think these would grow well hanging over a wall in full sun? or is vertical growth necessary? if so about how tall did it end up getting?

    • @sgvictorgo
      @sgvictorgo  6 років тому +1

      Kieran O'Sullivan , I think you can hang over the wall, definitely need full sun, and support for the fruit. When it ripe, it will just detach itself from the vine. So if the fruit is hanging high up, it will drop and smashed on the ground.

    Hi there am trying to grow them in the uk this year in hydroponics, the plant has produced loads of fruit but taking time to get big, how many melons did you get out of one plant? iv got more than 6 on the plant now but taking time to ripen up, some of them have drop off already looks like the fruit is aborting because the plant cant handle to many fruit on one plant, any advice what to do?

      One vine one fruit. Terminate the rest.

    Beautiful melons. Does the Kajari melons grow in full sun or do they need shade? I have 10 plants that have sprouted and was wanting to put them in pots to grow. Any adavice you have would help.

    • @sgvictorgo
      @sgvictorgo  6 років тому +1

      GAbriarman , they need full sun and loads of water. Do give them a big pot if you want to have bigger fruit. Trim off subsequent fruit to have one vine one fruit to ensure the best fruit at the end of the day.

      Thank you for responding so quickly. I will try and post pics of the fruits I grow.

      @@sgvictorgo -- VERY helpful to know! Here the sun gets very intense in mid to late Summer (90F and up) so will grow in light shade, and water well.
      I plan to place some wire netting around the plants to prevent birds and other animals from eating them : )

    Did you make the little blue and white melon sling yourself, or did you purchase it?

    How do manually pollinate? How do you know the difference between male and female flowers?

    • @sgvictorgo
      @sgvictorgo  4 роки тому +2

      The female flower has a bulge below the flower. I just plug the male flower out and rub it against the female flower.
