My parent's place got broken into once and some jewelry got stolen but my dad automatically checked another drawer, he had my brother's jewelry in a separate drawer ever since my brother died. I am an attorney and I also had the same thing happened to me. When you get divorced, and a man bought you an engagement ring, he can claim that you must give the ring back on divorce, or pay for it. It’s quite the dick move but it happens a lot and it happened to me. This guy is even worse. He paid for the setting and not the diamonds and then tried to get the whole ring back. What a disgusting person. I’m sure he’s with this older woman so he can take whatever assets she has in her bank account. Maybe he’ll even suffocate her in her sleep or something. So this lady with the ring is now returning just the old setting, which is not worth much.
