"Blood"
For all your love of soma
All my blood’s in vain
You say your history’s over
All of my blood’s in vain
Your television coma
All my blood’s in vain
It’s gone too far to change
All of my blood’s in vain
Flash across your screen
[They] got you in their hand
Fifteen minutes of freedom
Still 3/5 a man
Sterilize your conscience
and disgrace your name
A healthy simulation
All my blood’s in vain
For all your love of soma
All my blood’s in vain
You say your history’s over
All my blood’s in vain
Your television coma
All my blood’s in vain
It’s gone too far to change
All of my blood’s in vain
Liquor stains your table
Women change your bed
You rise on Sunday morning
Just like the living dead
Your Hell is fornication
Your Heaven is the same
But master is complacent
So all of my blood’s in vain
For all your love of soma
All my blood’s in vain
You say your history’s over
All my blood’s in vain
Your television coma
All my blood’s in vain
It’s gone too far to change
All of my blood’s in vain
Four hundred years of torture
Four hundred years a slave
Dead just to watch you squander
Just what we tried to save
Now death is at your doorstep
And you’re still playing games
So drown in entertainment
Cause all our blood is in vain.
I was watching a Dave Gahan (from Depeche Mode) interview, he said he really loves Algiers' music. So here I am. Thanks, Dave.
Yes! Thank you Dave!
Wow he has awesome taste and is an awesome musician. I came here from True detective. Quite the ending.
Na ja es erinnert an SOFAD!, Irgendwie teilen wir die selben Vorlieben!
If anyone is interested I found some of the people in the video. I might be wrong on some, but I’m pretty sure on most as I discovered the video clip they used for many.

what a song , big thumbs-up i'm from the city of algiers the capital of Algeria, mad love and respect from ALGERIA 🇩🇿
This is the history my city Algiers from Algeria ...the country which suffered for 150 years beacuse of the Franchise colonisation... .the worst colonisation....bravo for the good song
thanx Sister I'm from algiers 2 , aya hiya 😉👍🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿
132 years of occupation*
And "franchise" and "french" are two completely different things..
Yes brother I came on this reply section for the same reason. 132 y .....
Djurdjura tizi ouzou..:)
Stupide 😑
Soul , soul music .The kind of music that reawakens a dead soul. Peace out.
This fucking lyrics man,
Four hundred years of torture
Four hundred years a slave
Dead just to watch you squander
Just what we tried to save
Now death is at your doorstep
And you're still playing games
So drown in entertainment
Cause all our blood is in vain
It pierces a gloomy gospel of condemnation, and takes a eerie look on humanity that I find compelling. Badass... The kind of lyrics and tone I've been looking for, for a while.
the line "your still playing games" is ironic becaus its in a game trailer
Maybe that's one of the reasons it was chosen... It obvious what we the people need to do.. but we're still all caught up in the games of all sorts.. video games.. games of war.. games of poverty.. and games of politics.. "entertainment" or as I like to call them, distractions. Now don't get me wrong I'm a sucker for video games, but I'm also aware of how mine and other's time can be spent more wisely and productively...
having fun seems like wise move to me....
What about it? It’s the past. You fuckin wish you was in those times so you can play victim
Constantine Algiers tank you من قسنطينة الجزائر شكرا لكم
I was at a Depeche mode concert in Germany and Algiers were the opening act. They were so good, so I came here to listen to their music again👌🏻
i'm sooooo jealous. i can't imagine how amazing that must have been. i've been listening to depeche mode since they released 'construction time again', in 1983. i was 10.
Greetings and respect from Algeria 🤞🏻🖤
Thank you, really. This wonderful song reminds me of all that our people suffered because of colonialism. Long live Algeria
Simply the best ive listen to for years.
Powerful song, I haven't fallen in love so quickly with a song as I have this one
The humming in this song is sooo serene, blends so well with the Egypt setting... Thanks AC Origins !
I'm completely blown away by this.
I am so happy to see the history of my country of my grandfathers think you for this song
'You are either a rebel, or like Frank Sinatra' - Jimi Hendrix
***** come on, Sinatra sang more christmas covers than santa claus himself...
Lyrics worth listening. Video worth watching. A lesson. So much more than I could ask for.
saw them tonight. they opened for Interpol. they were great
Do you know what the song that they closed their set with? Loved that one. What a great time btw.
Andrew Scott I honestly dont remember. sorry :\
Haley Redwine may have been "but she wasn't flying" I think. Could be wrong. Either way, what an exciting band.
Andrew Scott They closed with this song (I talked to him at the end of the show and he said the last one was Blood).
Alysa Crist I'm almost 100% positive he opened with this song in Cincy, at bogart's.
The last song had a really cool bass riff through the whole thing, and a different beat all together.
Now I could be wrong, but I'm pretty damn certain it wasn't blood. You saw them in Cincy?
JUST DISCOVERING this amazingly beautiful song and video. Cold chills, just haunting.
Thank you Assassin's Creed for introducing me to such a bombass song!!!
Thank you to myself for having good taste in music and an ability to do my own research....
@@sveinunglidsheim5828awwnn little baby thinks he's special. Bless your heart.
Amazing. Thanks Dave Gahan for mentioning them as a recent inspiration, I might not have discovered them otherwise, and couldn't agree more!

This is great and the images are tops
damn. I saw the thumbnail, a black tie and a Vox--I figured this would be some garage rock but this is waaaaay more impressive
Powerful song...True Detective 3 brought me here
So good.
This is so beautiful🇩🇿🔥❤❤❤
Pasolini at 3:07... make me proud to be italian!
So fucking bad ass!!! I haven't heard anything this good and innovative in a long time . The lyrics, feeling, the anger , hurt the instrumentation and THAT VOICE! 🐯 on repeat haha so crazy
True Detective babyyy
I think I'm in love.
I love this
AC Origins made me hunt this song down, Love it even more now.
Assassin's Creed origins trailer brought me here... awesome music!
Jesus, that episode 4 ending. I'm so glad HBO exists, not only do they make fucking good tv series but, the song picks are so good. I'm sad that they cancelled Vinyl.
Beautiful ending
Awesome album in my collection, thanks for vid.
"the 100" brought me here!this is great music!
I didn't know Foucault was involved in the class/race struggles of 70's America until I watched this video.
A video so packed with cultural critique to complement the lyrics raise this song to the intensity of a war requiem.
I can't see how anyone who understands could not be stirred by this.
they opened the concert of depeche mode last week in berlin. they were awesome! ♡
Man this Song is awsome this deserves more love!!
......................... POWERFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pretty sure this song is gonna be in alot of movies
Awesome song!!!!!
I needed to hear this yesterday
the best song to be in a trailer of an assassin's creed game
the clip shocked me ! wooooooow great
Blown away!
Swans at 4:48! And I'm guessing they're named after 'The Battle of Algiers' since there's clips from it in the video.
And the rEVOLUTION will have an exquisite voice...
Thank you from Batna Algeria
amazing, just amazing!
There is a split second scene from Massive Attack-Unfinished Sympathies video clip..
magnifique!!!! quelle energie! quelle sincerité, c est fort lachez rien les freres ; PAIX UNITE MAIS LE POING LEVE
I was watching a review of the band Zeal and Ardor and they made mention of Algiers so I came to check it out. Amazing stuff.
I love it on the top of that I am Algerian.
splendid work!
Jesus, this is really powerful
Stunning. A+
I have to admit it's so badass to play a 3 strings guitar
Ture Detectives took me to this song - awesome
The ORIGINALS 3 sezon.Amazing
Yes !!!
Important that people, especially white people like me, not just appreciate the gospel music and actually understand the lyrics. 400 years ain't something people are just gonna forget and forgive, man.
+Dipstikk I don't think this song is addressed to white people. It sounds more like it's addressed to the descendants of these people who have shed their blood for better lives.
+Troudeculinos You mean like the countless impoverished European immigrants with nothing but the clothes on their backs who built the Americas with their sweat and toil?
Stephen Not at all, I'm talking about the descendants of black people who fought against oppression, whom Algiers seems to think are wasting the freedom that their ancestors won for them. By the way, no need to try to so hard to gain recognition for the European immigrants who "built America" (rather came in the natives' house, razed it to the ground and modelled it to their liking), their story is told in schools throughout the continent.
I think the song is inadvertently to all people... Even if it was only meant for black people.. slavery has been suffered by all races especially in today's "society" so we need to stop focusing on what they want us to see.. and focus on the bigger picture.. to you a ball may appear black while to another it is white... Try to see the ball for what it is.. an object missleading two people to fight over something their both right and wrong about...
@@bigboizism and who stole, raped and killed the very land and enslaved hundreds of millions of Africans to do this?
