As a new meditator, I find myself overly concerned about the ‘optimal’ height for my butt to be on a zafu or zabuton! 😁 My question concerns any exercises on opening my pelvis wider. I am not a yoga practitioner, so don’t have great movement in that area. I really want to get to half lotus!
@@roderickmurchison1451 Wow! This is an excellent concern. You are thinking in the right direction. I will do a short for you, but there are generally two paths: 1. Make your seat more comfortable or 2. Sit, sit, sit until the discomfort fades into the background. I believe in the 1st path with small doses of the 2nd. There is also an instagram.com.cecily_yogi video #yogawithweights (within the last 2wks) that focuses on sitting in Lotus or 1/2 Lotus while doing upper body exercises - Try it! Be on the lookout for another UA-cam from me :-)

That’s the BEST cushion/bolster for meditation. Not sure where to get it now, but I got it from Cost Plus World Market now out of business. Look for folding meditation cushions in your search window - CHEERS!
