DORA DORA RDJ is not bigger than Tom Cruise, the only thing making RDJ is shine right now is because of Avengers. Tom's Mission Impossible franchise alone doesn't lose in popularity nor profit.
Not really the case. RDJ just inserted his personality into the character, he isn't playing Iron Man, he is playing himself. Before the movies, the character of Tony Stark wasn't a fast talking, sarcastic guy... He was a suave, Hugh Hefner type man.
It seems absolutely crazy that the last time he ever did Conan’s show was 3 years before even became Iron Man….he’s never been back, not even with the other Avengers on a press tour
Conan invited RDJ in his show when he didn't blow up as iron man. And when RDJ did blow up, he never returned to Conan's show. Tells a lot about life 🙂.
I love Conan, and he is hilarious. For the sake of analysis, I was watching this video to compare his interview with RDJ with Craig Ferguson. Conan’s much more silly, professional, and although he got a few laughs, has a different atmosphere from Craig who’s more conversational and fits the image of RDJ. I think the difference is just the nature of the show and the hosts. I love them both
RDJ seems a tad touchy though he tries to hide it with his biting sense of humor. But if I have gone through what he went through, I might have been the same way
He was 40 and with an uncertain career,working his way up again. Pretty much in the same spot in 2005 as he was in 1995. That's hard, to still be the smiling hard working upstart at that age after so many years when guys 10 years younger than him like DiCaprio have the career he could have had. His own fault of course, that's why he is sucking it up. I know because I'm 36 ,in a very similar position and due to addiction as well. Not easy.
Anyone else feel some strain in this interview? Usually Conan has an easy rapport with the guests, this felt more scripted than usual. I'm probably just being stupid but this UA-cam so...

I agree. It's kinda weird and stilted compared to how he acts on like Letterman
Most of Conan's older interviews are like this but this is way better than him and Ferguson.
I have a feeling RDJ back in the day was something of a tricky interview, and if he went on Conan today he'd be a lot looser.
