My old band was lucky enough to play ACL Fest in 2005. I got a chance to meet the band after watching their set from the side/backstage. It was 100+ degrees and they didn't give AF. Just as much energy as this show. Super nice people too.
Funny how this song has gone from a set opener to one of the greatest closing songs ever. If tears of joy aren't rolling down your face at the end of an AF show after Wake up, you're dead.
The 3 times Ive seen them live Ive cried hella much during Tunnels. 😅 I love feeling a sense of "release" when singing/screaming the opening OOOHH OHHH OH OH OOHH OH along with the whole audience..and i saw them at outside lands..fuckin cray amount of peels singing together lol
Oh my fucking god. That's my big, stupid afro in the front. I apologize to anyone I stood in front of that night, but I waited six hours in line to be there. I will never forget this night.
i grew up listening to them with my parents who were at this concert basically a year before i was born. my dream is to experience an arcade fire concert with them. cant wait.
I always imagine these situations... - Hey, what are doing tonight? - There will be this new band playing at the pub down the block, "Fire at the Arcade" they are called, or something like that, they´re supposed to be good though. And then you go, they blow your mind and years later they turn out to be the best band in the whole world. Maaaaaaan, you were lucky.
This is simply incredible. The songs I thought were the weaker ones on funeral played live turned into pure energy. I wish for nothing more than to see a show where they play the old and less popular stuff
haunting, yet exilerating...intelligent.frightning...most original sound since marc bolin....gives me hope in music again.....every lp has been different and sonicly expanded...oh......and did i.mention that "hurdy gurdy"??????an instrument that was first used hundreds of years ago??again ....keep the vision beyond......wow
You were so lucky to film this close to a band that's now filling stadiums. Thanks for sharing! And a shout out from the band! Very cool. Merry Xmas Fire Fans!!!
It doesn't surprise me that they won the Grammy. They should have won for Funeral! I heard them live in Montreal where I’m from for the first time. It was a free live concert over 100,000 fans, an awesome concert. Seen Win at the Y on Parc ave. I wonder if they ever hanged around the statue at M-Royal?
Everyone complaining about Win pushing Regine off the stage must not know what Haiti is about. It is a violent song. To me, it looked like part of the show and fit with the theme of the song. It could have even been planned before hand... but even if it wasn't, I don't think it was Win's intention to be a jerk. However, she may have told him to never do it again afterwards... I know I would have. Anyway, this video is amazing! They've come so far since!!!
Wtf? There are plenty of ways to state that "violence" you mention in the song without hurting any of your band mates. And even if it was planned, I just see that part and feel really confused as to why he did that, it does not feel fitting to me at all... and it's their responsibility to convey that message across their public.
Staged? He sticks the guitar into Regine and pushes her off the stage. In the full film did you see the look he gives the violinist who looks unhappy then backs off?
Yes you did.....I'm glad someone else noticed that little detail....b/c I thought it was just me...or maybe it was planned? but then his facial expression after say's it all.....
finally some one says something not one interviewer has ever asked so umm hey win, what's up up with that bull charge on ur wife...the other members look aa like a little confused for a moment
(Trying out to join Arcade Fire) “So who is the back-up singer?” “Everyone.” “I can play three instruments” “That’s a start.” “Should I learn more?” “Depends on if you can play structural members.”
kind of but they were already a really hyped band by this point. riding that p4k 9.7 rating plus talk about how good they were live. this show was def sold out as was most of the tour. they easily couldve filled a bigger venue which they did later that year when they came back to town
I just saw them in Ireland last week playing Funeral from start to finish. The best!!!
its crazy and amazing to watch this. I was not even a year old when this concert occurred. Now 19, AF is one of my favourite bands.

This footage belongs in a museum. Incredible.
So young
So much pain for someone so young
Gosh, what I would give to see them in such a small venue
so fucking asome man
Funny how this song has gone from a set opener to one of the greatest closing songs ever. If tears of joy aren't rolling down your face at the end of an AF show after Wake up, you're dead.
Couldn't agree more 💛

True but ever see a band open with a “closer” song? Sets the whole tone.
i was at this show! i had never seen anything like them. mind blown.
no way, are you serious?? I wish a could have been there.
I felt the same way when I saw them perform for the first time. It was later in 2005 on tv.
❤

Oh my fucking god. That's my big, stupid afro in the front. I apologize to anyone I stood in front of that night, but I waited six hours in line to be there. I will never forget this night.
There's a permanent catch in Win's voice, as if he wants to cry, but he's singing instead. Adds an emotional quality to the songs.
❤
yeah it's gone now ...the quiver...
Saw this on MTV back in 2095, was instantly hooked on this band
everything about this is just perfect. i think i'm going to cry.
❤
i grew up listening to them with my parents who were at this concert basically a year before i was born. my dream is to experience an arcade fire concert with them. cant wait.
Seen them 2005 in Berlin with about 150 other people ..then the became the biggest band in the World. Seen them 7 times and every time blown away.
I always imagine these situations...

Maaaaaaan, you were lucky.
Jajaja that happens!! It happened to me when I saw Interpol in 2002 at Minneapolis smallest venue!!
everybody singing along to Tunnels gives me the strongest goosebumps. what a fucking show
What a fantastic show. This is timeless music. David Bowie knew this. What a great band!!!
Wow. What incredible energy. These guys would not allow you to look away.
OH MY GOD IN HEAVEN!!! THANK YOU!
I’m here after hearing Win talk about this show on the Smart Less podcast.
Thanks for sharing, I saw them play this same set list 1 week later in Tucson, AZ at Solar Culture. Best show I will ever see
flawless and gorgeous...probably the best thing I've EVER seen live.
❤
This is simply incredible. The songs I thought were the weaker ones on funeral played live turned into pure energy. I wish for nothing more than to see a show where they play the old and less popular stuff
Man, the sound of this recording is really amazing, thank you for sharing this, good sir.
Thank you.. Unexpected start to my day... 🎸✌️❤️💃
This really is priceless, amazing!
This is fucking amazing. I saw them last year and they were great, but the energy here is like lightning in a bottle.
God bless you for uploading this!!
haunting, yet exilerating...intelligent.frightning...most original sound since marc bolin....gives me hope in music again.....every lp has been different and sonicly expanded...oh......and did i.mention that "hurdy gurdy"??????an instrument that was first used hundreds of years ago??again ....keep the vision beyond......wow

Merry Xmas Fire Fans!!!
as always, in the backseat brings out the most spirit in both the band and the audience. wish they played it more often.
Thank you so much! love it!
They can make a tiny club feel like Reading or something of that size! And you were there! Too much awesomeness to take in!!
This bass tone insane
Kettles is the best song in their entire catalogue
Saw Arcade Fire/The Black Keys at a pre ACL show at Stubbs in 05. Amazing stuff!
Excelente video. Una joya.
Sergio Roger Exacto
all this time ive ben watching and loving them more than any band in history, and ive only just noticed win playing bass in headlights
Headlights Look Like Diamonds!!! ♥
Alejo Sánchez yes!
Jeez, this is awesome. Good taste in music bro with Interpol, Arcade and Mogwai.
Win was sick this entire tour
this should seriously be in the national archives...global archives...whatever. IT NEEDS TO BE PRESERVED FOR ALL TIME!!
THIS IS GOLD!
bravo.................
@ArcadeFireTube Thanks for the catch, and glad you like the video!
These comments have me so amped for this setlist!!!! LET'S GO!!!!

nothing beats early footage of young, hungry bands.
I got invited to this show way back then and declined because it was too far(4 hrs). What a terrible decision. So cool to see this
Regine sounds AMAZING singing Haiti
I do not know this band, but I wonder what future may have something like this ....
Everyone complaining about Win pushing Regine off the stage must not know what Haiti is about. It is a violent song. To me, it looked like part of the show and fit with the theme of the song. If it was planned, er okay weird idea. If not, it's just straight-up assault

@drewgair No Cars Go was on their first self-titled EP then later they redid the song for Neon Bible.
20 years ago I was there.
Why win did that with Regine? Wtf that was so violent 😳
Fantastic
I wonder why Win pushed his wife off the stage.
Yes you did.....I'm glad someone else noticed that little detail....b/c I thought it was just me...or maybe it was planned? but then his facial expression after say's it all.....
Just a chill moment between husband and wife. Man pushes wife into the audience with guitar. So emo.
finally some one says something not one interviewer has ever asked so umm hey win, what's up up with that bull charge on ur wife...the other members look aa like a little confused for a moment
And that would be the last time he made her extremely uncomfortable in public.
Eu sou apaixonado por esse videooooo
(Trying out to join Arcade Fire)
“So who is the back-up singer?”
“Everyone.”
“I can play three instruments”
“That’s a start.”
“Should I learn more?”
“Depends on if you can play structural members.”
What are structural members?
simple y sencillamente ... genial !!
wow... that stage is too small, i'd love to have been there
@TSOFan1 It's Richard, hes been in the band forever.
Now I have to listen to the Electric Fields!!!!!
After this Richard and Sarah came to Win and they asked him what happened? They looked surprised!
im pretty sure during this leg of the tour he had to go back and finish up college
WHAT A VERSION OF HAITI AND THE ENDI!!!
Se ve que todavía no había ingresado a la banda will?? Desde Argentina 🤗
I hope Regine was okay. I love Win and all but that looked really bad.
@OurAshesWillFly Can't believe it! He didn't even help her get up again hahaha
Better than Reflektor!
Be thankful for everything. Now
@TheDylanCarver ahhh thank you. i was confused.
I just died and went to heaven.
you don't like it, but you watched all the way til the end?
1:01:43 BEST PART
whats with the plastic cow in the bottom right corner of the screen?
If this show was in 2005, then how did they play "No cars go"? I thought it was on Neon Bible which came out in 07. Can someone please clarify
Pimp-Shadow it was originally on their first ep titled “EP” , they reworked it for neon bible . six years late hehe
❤
dunno man but Win has said in interviews that no one in the band does drugs.
All the smarks in here thinking 1:13:00 was a shoot 😂😂
Who's the guy playing the tom and tambourine on Wake Up?
Is Richards guitar even plugged in on no cars go?
1:13:40 Have to wonder if this is right before the record deal?
No he said "I had a lung infection for the past few months now...but were gonna try this song..and see how it goes.."
1:13:00 WTF ? •_•
Yeah 100% what the fuck

Hugo Paz ufff 7u7
was this before they got famous?

it didn't happen like that though...it looked serious.....richard looked scared....
I was 4 days old when they did this… yet they all look the same in 2022 and I’m a senior in hs now. Crazy…
soo how would you explain the whole Win violently pushing Regine off the stage and not giving a hoot about it situation that occured??
Maybe now..someone will have the guts to answer you. Hopefully

@oswaldosalazar at what time was ?
There's dozens of quality Arcade Fire concert videos on UA-cam. This shaky, handheld entry is not one of them. Find a better experience.
The cow is looking the wrong way!!!!!!!!!!!!
@oswaldosalazar that is too rude , what happened with Winn , i would like to be there to catch Regine in my arms , je je je , Sorry for my bad
Where was William?
Why do Texas crowds always talk through shows 🤦♂️
Where is Will?
umm have you heard sprawl II? that song decimates.
