These recordings are treats.. As we grew up listening to the 3 minute or 22 minute or 30 minute renditions...and now when we hear these long stretched versions...Realise ki that's the way a khayal should be developed...,it's an awesome experience

What an exposition by the master - The alaap section in the beginning is so deep, so unhurried, with profound phrasing and such grand development - The nishaad and rishab in this rendition are just so beautiful, with places where the meends are so subtle that the mind doesn’t understand how to comprehend the beauty in all its glory.
In the Jod section at 1:17:00 -> 1:21:00, an exposition in the style of a Maihar gharana artist - Note the subtle meend on the pancham. So wonderfully beautiful, and joyous. Reminds one of the influence of the great Ustad Allaudin Khan! Capturing the essence of the Raag with pristine depth.
Dear Mr Ashokan, it would be so useful, if could discover the date/year, Venue of this live Yaman and who is providing him the Tabla accompaniment. Somewhere raga need little pose that raees khan used more than needed mostly. But undoubtedly great yaman by greatest ustadji.
Bad sound is due to unusual low scale tuning of sitar.
Tabla accompaniment is surely by some banaras gharana tabla player.
Pandit Samta Prasad is my guess. But some other tabla player is also possible.
