Couldn't agree more. I have been using my S9 since 2018, aside from the deteriorating battery health, everything is great. No lag at all even after almost 4 years.

Kinda feel biased towards the iPhone because I’ve never had a Samsung product before. I’m not sure whether to buy the S9 or not. I've been researching new phones for over a month now and my research keeps bringing me back to the S9+. I have to replace my old LG Stylo phone which is just plain slow. I'm guessing an upgrade to the s9+ would be tremendous for me.
This video goes over the important features of the phone and you did a great job with it. In fact the more I watch videos from unbox therapy the more I realize how great a job you guys do showing the important features on each product and doing it in an entertaining way. s9 is google pixel 2... with better screen, better design, headphone jack, better camera. removable storage and wireless charging. s9 has features that android will adapt 2 years from now.. For updates think of pixel users as guinea pigs. why so skeptical?? It seems you are favoring an older, slower phone with lesser feature on the same price point. What's wrong with your logic??

Down the line, pixel’s gonna be better with the fast updates and the best version of android. Samsung experience tend to slow down the galaxies over time, also the pixel camera is the best, I use an iPhone and i still feel it’s the best. Google does better software optimisation and what not, and I believe that’s what makes the experience more enjoyable. About headphone jacks, accept it or not Samsung’s gonna ditch it anyway down the line. It’s a good phone nonetheless but can’t quite keep up with the brilliant software and camera in the Pixel. The hardware is good too, the display issue is way overblown and it’s fixed anyway now.

I don't get what you think about value for money, the S9 has more features for about the same cash, Pixels doesn't come with ear buds inside the box. The galaxy S9 has the best Screen quality, SD card expansion, headphone jack, better water protection, wireless charging... Pixels are overpriced...
Not even about the same cash, it's actually CHEAPER than S8, if you already have an S8, then I'd say you're pretty good since it's only been an year since you've gotten that phone so having it for a while longer wouldn't be too bad. But if you're upgrading from something lets say an S6, S7 or any other relatively old phone, then the S9 is definitely worth its price.

+Hav T. imo Samsung didn't really take any major steps with the S9 because they're probably holding back a lot of their technology for the Galaxy S10 (or SX, X etc) to make it a huge step forward for their series, and also a revamp to their phone model and design, which I sincerely hope isn't something completely gimmicky (such as the iPhone X Notch). But we'll just have to wait and see what happens as we get closer to the S10 rumors.

Hav T. I have the s8. I have an iPhone 8. I will not upgrade too 9 or iPhone 10. It would be a waist.
I've said it before, bottom line is what ever sound you play on the S9 phones you'll never hear it the way you're supposed to because the top speaker was designed to handle high frequencies, and the bottom mids and lows. Imagine watching a movie or listening to music where specific sounds should be heard through either the left or right channel that sound will be different on these phones because in order to have true stereo both speakers have to be full ranged (all frequencies). It will be very noticeable when listening to anything with surround sound. What makes it even worse is one speaker is facing away from your ears. That's why when you compare the speakers to other phones it might SOUND clearer and crisper because the high frequency speaker is the one facing you.
There are youtube videos that play only static noise and if you cover each speaker in turn you'll hear the difference...it's like having computer speakers or headphones with one side highs and the other side mids and lows and declaring how great they sound! I'm not saying the phones don't sound good, all i'm saying is all the bragging Samsung puts out there about AKG tuned and spending an entire year PERFECTING the audio etc. is all advertising gimmicks to make the consumer feel they're going to be treated to a premium audio experience which gives you the illusion it's worth the high price. Phones like the Axon 7 has amazing audio with dual front facing full range speakers and Dolby Atmos and that phone was released in May 2016!

As of now I'm in the middle with the s9, I currently have the s8 and for me I don't see it as a major difference. Besides stereo speaker and super slow mode. Camera may be slightly better. The s9 is most likely the phone that everyone wanted physically wise by consumers(fingerprint). But is it worth it to switch from the s8 to the s9? No, if you have a good functioning phone with no issues physical,internal, or software wise. This is not much of an upgrade. Does it suck? No, by all means this phone is a good phone basically there for anyone with the older s series or other phones of people who wants a switch. To me this is just a miss, but am excited to see what Samsung will unveil for the note 9 and possibly the "x"
Yes if you have an old phone that is substantially has an outdated hardware or as a first phone, no point wasting money on something thats not going to change how you use your phone everyday such as UA-cam, Google or Facebook.
VOiD My thoughts exactly. Most people upgrade every 2 years. Samsung works around this. They reuse a design for 2 years because they know most people buy phones every 2 years. S6 users bought the S8. The hope is S7 users buy the S9. Etc. Apple did the same thing for awhile but the iphone 7 goofed things up not to mention the 8

VOiD I'm going from the LG G6 to the s9+. Yeah my Phone is only a year old but LG made a big mistake using the 821 chip. Now it seems they forgot about this phone and have now turned focus to the v30. Who knows when I'll get a oreo update so I rather get something new and won't look at at LG until they get it together. I'm looking forward to the s9+ when preorders start. Tmobile is known to send you the phone way ahead of time so hopefully I get it 7-8 days before launch date.

Recently bought my new Samsung Galaxy S9, previous had S3 (which works even now), then S5 (also works). All phones have not disappointed me and I am satisfied with all phone services.
For the sound, enable Dolby Atmos on the control panel gets you more pleasing sound but X10 louder than the S8. And it's very good!

akul madan It isn't. Wireless is not even close to wired quality. Especially if you have a couple of other signals around, the wireless headphones are gonna either lose some quality (which is still not as good as wired) or you're gonna experience nanosecond loses (they might not seem important, but for people who develop for example or for people who edit videos it can be a big deal since the audio has to be synced with the video). So yeah, wired is still king and it's gonna stay like this for a while.
I made the switch from Android to iPhone 8 and I love it. But I do wonder how life would have been with the Galaxy S9 or Note 8, fantastic phones
Really still very happy with my S7. I need the finger print sensor in the front. Camera is great; phone is great. I don't want a notch or pill hole. Will wait until the under screen camera comes out then I'll jump in and get whatever version that is.
That most likely won't happen it'll cause a blur if it's under a screen maybe go for a popup or slide or flip camera phone but an in screen smartphone just won't happen

I just bought it today due to the overall features I'm getting from it. If the phone is a close second in every department that arguably makes it the best phone out there.
I think the game changer for the S9 is legit going to be the Dex Pad which will take advantage of the whole processing power S9 offers.

You have to manually turn on Dolby Atmos in the sound settings. It makes a noticable difference in the sound staging and various other aspects. My audiophile friend who is an acoustic engineer and producer, was blown away by the difference between it being on and off.

Guarentee you this guy didn't have the dolby atmos turned on. The sound is absolutely undoubtedly 1000% better than any other phone on the market and even works with headphones, it's amazing.

I had an S6 and I've been skipping new models year after year looking for something great. I was almost settled with the S8 but I convinced myself to wait for the S9+, which was the greatest upgrade I've made so far
I had an s6 for almost 3 years and recently got the s9+ and it was one of the best choices I've made. Differently worth the switch!
I got this and it is absolutely bad ass. The best phone I have ever used, practical, beautiful and awesome in every way. Get the LED cover, it's just as amazing.

My teacher has a charging station and she has a wirless charger plugged up to it most kids in my class have an iphone 6 or 7 when I FORGOT my charger I asked could I use the wirless on she said yea and all the iphone kids said it wouldent work cause my phone was old and don't have wirless charging but boy was there some salty faces after I hit 100%

How can you not recommend the S9? You said you used the S8 extensively, so you would obviously recommend that and the S9 is the same price as the out going model, but has many improvements and therefor a better phone. I guess it's not bad relatively, but if you're looking at price point versus functionality, then I would definitely have to give that to the OnePlus 5T. And I've never even used it. Based on the features that it has, and the relatively cheaper price range, that to me blows the S9+ out of the water

Just bought mine from Boost Mobile... porting over from another carrier, I got it for $670-ish. Pretty happy with it thus far, I bought the Samsung Wireless charging pad with it. Although the "wireless fast charging" using the wireless pad seems a bit slow... I started charging it from around 18% left, and it took 2.5hrs to fully charge. That doesn't seem "fast" to me... lol

Yooo Lou, I have had my S9 for 48 hours now. I came from using the S8+. I am used to a larger phone for I have always used a Note when possible. I wanted something a little smaller. Not having the second camera hasn't bothered me and I don't believe it will. The battery life of meh. The stereo speakers however is where it's at! Listening to your awesome videos pops now way more than before. Keep up the great work!
